I agree about Jordis. Definitely too fast and missing all emotion. A very disappointing performance and she knew it and the band knew it, but she's had all exceptional performances up until now. I think the band was right when they said she won't be singing any INXS songs soon.

I simply don't get Deanna. I don't like her style, her range is on the low end and she has a powerful voice, but she just doesn't do it for me. I think she tries too hard on every song (what was with the vocal gymnastics last night?).

Marty was really good, but I think he would be a great replacement for Kurt Cobain.

Suzie did well, even though she was channeling Gwen Stefani (hair, gloves, big ring - come on!).

I think MiG is probably the most like what INXS is looking for from his physical appearance to his personality. This guy is so nice, humble, and laid back (well, from what we've seen, anyway). He can sing and it would be nice for him to do a ballad full of emotion and angst.

Jessica, as someone above noted, was "craptastic." Love that term. She should go home.

J.D. was J.D. I don't get all the compliments either and I think he overdid the song. I love Seal and "Crazy" is probably my favorite. J.D. destroyed it. And what was with the epileptic-like hand tremors? Please.

Brandon - call Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I do think that was Ty's best performance yet. I didn't think it was the most soulful thus far in the competition, though. I thought Jordis had that with "Man Who Sold the World."

Here's hoping Jordis gets it back together because she is my favorite overall.

Ty for sure...

Ty will definitely get the encore I think....man I thought it was awesome...like I didnt think rock when he was singing it..but man..that was an awesome performance. they should really think about making a compilation cd of all these performances...i probably would buy it just for Ty's performance last night.

I thought Marty and Suzie's performances were the best, followed by Ty, who I still don't think is all that great, but did good. I also think Marty has this competition in the bag, unless MiG somehow pulls something out of his arse.

Jordis has been by far my favorite to this point, but this wasn't a good song for her, and it obviously showed. Last week, her performance was amazing, probably in large part to her friend that passed away, but it just fit the song perfectly and you could literally feel her as if she was in the room singing it to you. Really detached performance from her this week, but still not bad.

I also didn't see what was so great about JD's performance. He does seem slightly less weasily to me lately, but I still can't stand his performances and he sings like he is just trying too damn hard. The parts of "Crazy" where he didn't have to get somewhat loud on, he was atrocious.

I thought Brandon's performance was great for what it was, but he has no depth what so ever. One trick pony if there ever was one.

Deanna did ok, but really "meh" overall to me.

Jessica was absolutely craptastic, I thought. I have to say, that was the first time I have ever heard the word come pronounced "kooum". I don't know why the hell she was so bent on doing that song. Maybe to try and compete with the others who did Nirvana songs? She is a goner for sure tomorrow night.

I say the 2 joining her in the bottom 3 are Brandon and either Deanna or JD, probably Deanna since JD has the "wet panties" vote.

Suzie or Ty will get the encore.

Jessica's song sounded like a lounge version. I bet Richard Cheese liked it. I really think Jordis just didn't have a good night. She even said that she's done that song so much better. You could tell she was mad when they showed her walking off stage. An off night for her is still in the top 3 for me. I agree that I had Ty in the bottom 3 before the night started but he did a good job. My bottom 3 are Jessica, JD and Deanna. I like Deanna better than Suzie but much like Brandon. She has a limited range. The final 3 better be Marty, MiG and Jordis or I'm going to be pissed. I'm starting to think the band, INXS might sign two of these people. Maybe Marty and Jordis to have a new look. Just a hunch though.

Marty again, I'd say. Such a great call to do that song AND to do it acoustic...

Jordis proves again that she is simply on the wrong show. They would eat her up on American Idol. She is just not right for this format or music.

Marty and Mig continue to be way out front in this one. Ty is getting far too much love, I don't buy it. JD is interesting on stage, but not a talented enough singer. The rest are filler.

I was disappointed with Jordis' performance last night. She and Jessica seemed to perform songs that really needed something more than they gave. Both performances looked like amusement park performances.

In stark contrast, Marty really seems to perform the songs well. I agree with Dave Navarro that MArty really has that rock star magnetism that stands out regardless of any technical shortcomings.

I think Mig is great, but he really seems overlooked every week. Maybe that's because he seems to be "playing" rock star more than actually being one.

JD is very inconsistent. He seemd to pick up an accent for the Seal tune (which was awful)

I think it is still between Ty, Marty, Mig and Jordis

The rest is a matter of order of elimination.

I am really glad I caught the premier of this show by chance. I would probably not be watching this otherwise.

I couldn't disagree more. She is one of the only ones not playing the part. She is being honest and just exudes Rockstar to me. She had a bad night and not a great song for her to begin with. She'll be back on top next week.

Anyway, some guy posted something that basically said the following (paraphrasing):

"I've been holding back talking about this, but I can't hold it in anymore. I was one of the final 50 to be on the show. During the entire tryouts, they kept saying over and over that the top 14 would make it to the show. Over and over, stressing top 14. Then when the show aired, and there were 15. I recognized everyone of the finalists except for Mig. He's Australian, fits hte mold of the band perfectly."

very interesting

Then another post in the thread, posted by Steven Tylers wife, was saying how she felt it was fixed because Mig fit the band so well.
I wouldn't call this a spoiler and I don't think Mig is the front runner right now. They may have added him to the list at the last minute, but that doesn't make it fixed.

Really? She is not right for this format or MUSIC? Really? That seems extreme given one off performance out of 5. Remember she is the youngest and I think that's what we saw last night - inexperience, youth.

P.S. Didn't mean to insult anyone's sensibilities by suggesting Marty replace the deceased Kurt Cobain. I think Marty is very talented and one of the performers who really listens to what the band members say to him. It just seems like many of his songs run along the same vein. That's all.

More specifically, music. Just my opinion, but Jordis is a pop star, not a rock star. And the Stevie Nicks witchie-poo look isn't convincing me. Even the band, INXS, and Eddie Munster have gone out of their way to make it a point week after week that it isn't all about the singing. She may very well be the best singer, but there is no way she wins this contest.

Credit where credit is due: Suzy was AWESOME on Bitter Tears. It's tough to describe an intangible, but she "went to that place" and really, really kicked ass.

Well, the votes are in, and I think the right person was sent home.

Brandon didn't do all that great with his INXS song (forgetting some of the lyrics didn't help his cause). Strangely enough, Jessica seems to know how to work INXS songs in her favor, so she avoided being sent home as well. In a perplexing voting result, Suzie landed in the bottom 3 just under JD and Deanna, but she is a favorite of INXS and was never in much danger of leaving this week.

They should have just cut Jessica along with Brandon and gotten it over with already. She may be able to perform INXS songs pretty well, but she absolutely sucks at the "concerts" each week. She has less than zero chance of fronting this band, INXS, so about the only thing she is really good for is eye candy, which could very well be a reason they aren't cutting her loose just yet.

Sagging ratings will make tv people do desperate things. Anyone else notice Brooke Burke's skirt last night, that came up to about an inch below her cooch? I aint complaining, but that sure seemed obvious to me.

Glad to see Brandon gone, couldn't believe Suzi was in the bottom three she was one of the best the other night.

I agree - kind of. I was convinced that they were going to get rid of both Brandon and Jessica as well. I like Jessica, but there is no way in hell she will ever become the lead singer of the band, INXS.

I wonder if they will actually have an acoustic night next week. I think that it is a great idea, but I am wondering how some of the singers would handle it.

Are you kidding me? I don't think she could be farther from a pop star. That baffles me that someone could think this. What does/doesn't she have that makes you think pop star?

Sizie actually impressed me for the first time last night. She did a nice job with Bitter Tears. I didn't think she belonged in the bottom 3, but neither did Brandon.

I don't get the comparison to Stevie Nicks either, but Bill Needle seems to be the only once convinced that Jordis is American Idol material.

She sings like one. Close your eyes and it's Kelly Clarkson up there.

She can dread and dress up how she wants, but she doesn't fool me.

Sounds like you have a problem with a female singing this type of music. She is by far Kelly Clarkson. That first night I saw Jordis, I knew she was a Rockstar. She has the voice, the image, the personality. She has everything. She owns the stage even when she's not doing much up there. I'm sorry but she has more talent in one dreadlock than Kelly has.
