If they are going to take an hour to boot off a contestant, have the bottom 3 sing 2 songs each, then.
Can't believe Jordis didn't land in the bottom 3.
Marty's stage presence is just so much larger than life than any of the remaining contestants', unfortunately, he sings with a weird English/Australian lilt to his vocals at times.
Ty still performs like he's trying to reach that person in the Bob Eucker seat in the theater.

I knew Jordis wouldn't be in the bottom 3. She has a HUGE fan base. As I've said before, this isn't about the weekly performance anymore. Everyone knows who they like. To be honest, I don't think it should be based on just the performace that night. You need to take everything into account when you vote. Just like any competition, you take into account the whole game to decide the outcome. Not the last quarter, half, etc. To me, her overall performance is better than others still left. She better pick it up next week though.

First time I actually liked Marty's performance and it's because he reigned it in a bit while singing a damn good INXS song. Good to see Susie get a little respect for being better than most of them the past few weeks.

So Happy I Found This Site!
I am addicted to this damned show....can't wait for Tuesday and Wednesday nights.....I agree with Atlantamoi - I think it is going to come down to Ty and Mig, although at this point, everyone is SO good.
I'm a Canadian but I have to admit, JD does absolutely nothing for me....even with closing my eyes and just listening to the voice - I think it is that ego that drives me insane.....he just seems to lack charisma.
Marty kinda scares me....strange eye movements happening and he does this weird thing with his mouth.... Jordis is definately talented, but I thought her last performance should have certainly had her in the bottom 3.
I'm a Ty fan....I think he holds the most talent - I get pretty pissed off everytime he is in the bottom 3.

Well, let me just say that Deanna's song was not the disaster that I thought it was going to be. Much better than Stop/Go. Jordis was WOW bad. I would've thought that she could hit a note like that. Although I don't agree with Marty being in the bottom 3, it was cool to hear him do an INXS song, and I thought he did a great job.
As for Ty, well, he just can't redeem himself in my eyes. He just is too theatrical; his style grates on me and his cockiness grates on me even more. It pissed me off when he said that his Proud Mary performance was the first one that was like a real show/performance. Get over yourself Ty; there have been much better performances. I was really hoping that he would cut this week.

I'm wondering if Suzie picked up most of Jessica's votes. She's one of my favorites now, so I'm glad to see her finally get a reprieve. Plus it was nice to see some fresh people sing INXS songs.
Marty shifted his stage persona from "angry" to "somewhat upset" for his performance tonight. I guess that's his way of "meeting them halfway".

I still think Marty is the front runner for this thing, but Suzie and Mig will give him a run for his money. So far I still think Suzie sounds the most like Michael Hutchence.

With the bottom three last night, there was no doubt who was going home.
Loved that Suzy finally got some love last night. I think that she was having trouble getting over the stigma of blowing the words during her first performance, but finally is rising above it.
Jordis should have been bottom three - no doubt about it.

This is an awesome show, I'm just glad it's not airing on FOX or it'd be off the air by now. It's sort of refreshing to see a reality show with a modicum of class. These people genuinely seem to care about one another, and the band & Dave don't feel the need to belittle or ridicule them after a bad performance. I don't feel dirty after watching this.
As much as a lot of folks seem to hate JD, he would probably be the best pick for INXS. They're not looking just for a singer, but to revive a career that's stagnated for 8 years or so. And you KNOW they're watching the popularity polls & fan reactions. And JD could stir up a lot of interest in this band. Besides, how many lead singers got to where they are by being nice?

i cringed at every single kiss-ass remark made by the wannabees. man..i hate watching stuff like that.
jordis suckdiddlyucked and should have been in the bottom 3. it's about time to hear her sing an inxs song anyway....
marty cracks me up too. he's just a little too intense.
not real big on mig.....seems kinda bland.
and ty is a good showman....just not a rock band leader.

Maybe I'm alone, but I thought Marty's rendition of the song by the band, INXS, was terrible. He has tons of stage presence, but the vocal was horrendous.

sometimes Marty's notes are so off-base, it makes me cringe.....but I agree - I like his presence on stage....

I think hitting the right notes, well, doesn't hurt? But I can understand what they mean. Someone like Mig or Ty are much better singers--but I think Marty would click with INXS's sound much better. Mig is one I'm really keeping my eye on. We haven't heard him even do an INXS song and from what I can hear, his register and style may take away their edge...

I think what they are trying to convey is that it is not necessarily the best technical singer who will win. It's the person that has the best combination of singing, stage presence, interaction with the band, etc that will be the new lead singer for the band, INXS.

As for hitting notes, there's a right way to miss them and a wrong way. Jordis' Dream On was cringe inducing. Marty's Mr. Brightside and Don't Change (to my ears) had a shaggy beauty, sort of a spontaneous rock feel that was created in part by his passionate semi-off key singing. Does that make sense? I mean, this isn't opera. There are different ways to sing rock. Think about Roger Waters. There's a beautiful passion to his voice even though technically it's not good.

There are PLENTY of technically "bad" singers in rock 'n roll. I've been listening to Public Image Ltd. the last hour and you can't exactly say John Lydon can sing with perfection. Much rather hear that than a boring singer who hits every note.

Also, would INXS REALLY replace Michael Hutchence with a female? There are plenty of great female singers, don't get me wrong, but it's difficult enough to successfully replace a lead singer (by far the hardest band member to replace). Has ANY band ever replaced their lead singer with one of the other gender--and went on to do well? There may be some, but I can't think of any...

That's what's unique about this show: It's not about who is the "best" but about who would be best for this particular band. And I do think that going with a female would work well... if it's the right female. The only two left are both strong contenders:
Suzie can do it vocally but she's missing the rockstar spark
I still have faith in Jordis but she REALLY needs to turn it up after 3 weak performances. I feel like I "know" that she can do it but I'm not confident that she'll prove it in this weird environment.
