I was hoping we'd get an Iron Giant montage of the Terminator parts joining each other -- but no dice.

I enjoyed the second episode much better than the first. The plot and situation is patently ridiculous, but the show has some actual human emotion behind it, which is nice. It's certainly not groundbreaking, but it's better than Heroes or Bionic Woman.

Each episode is reminding me more and more of the "War of the Worlds" TV series, especially with Episode 2's "let's put the SFX-heavy bad guy in a suit or clothes or something to save money" trick... *sigh*

And, you know, also so that people don't see a Fucking METAL ROBOT SKELETON walking down the street and, oh, I don't know, call in the marines or something.

I really wish they hadn't cast that girl Summer for the terminator role. She looks like such a dofus. Every time I see her I imagine her terminator robot skull with a big ass forehead and buggy eyes.

Nice, subtle touch by the set builders.

4. How did the endoskeleton make it to the junkyard without anyone asking WTF they just found? The thing DID arrive in the middle of a busy street.
4. An endoskeleton walking around with a human head?
5. If Sarah and John are so hell bent on not being found, why do they only change their last names?
6. Why does Sarah keep saying 'Kyle Reese' when she referred to him simply as 'Reese' in the previous movies?
7. What the fuck did the writers do to Sal Bass...er, Enrique?
8. How did John get his modern cell phone?
9. The show should just be called "The Sarah Connor Chronicles"; having "Terminator" preface it makes it too tedious.
It also appears that they're not totally ignoring Terminator 3. Sarah died from cancer, and in the pilot John was whining about his role in the future, just like John from T3.
I REALLY hope next week's is better.

Fox drama Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles got off to a positive start, with 10.07 million viewers (#2) and a 4.3/10 among adults 18-49 (#2) from 9-10 p.m. While this may pale in comparison to its preview just one day earlier (Viewers: 18.36 million; A18-49: 7.7/18 on Jan. 13 out of the Giants/Cowboys NFL match-up), it did build from lead-in Prison Break (Viewers: #4, 7.89 million; A18-49: #2, 3.4/ 8 at 8 p.m.) by 2.18 million viewers and 26 percent among adults 18-49.

Not being a huge fan of the movies (but enjoying them) I have to say that this show has been very entertaining to me. So I guess from an "average joe," I think it's a fun show...I just hope it can hold up the production value/writing/etc.

The identity of the resistance fight the terminator missed hasn't been revealed right? After they left the hideout with the diamionds from the safe we see the arm with the barcode code on it clutching the chainlink fence. I assume it's him.

I thought it was pretty good. The whole thing with the first terminator surviving/coming through the portal REALLY bugged me. It would have been more believable to scrap that one and have a new one come through. Really, walking around without a head? Surviving in the debris without anyone noticing? Cyberdine was pretty quick to scoop up the last head and arm they found. Sloppy, sloppy writing IMO. That aside, I liked it well enough to tune in next week.

And did anyone else pick up on the way Cameron said the line after Sarah asked her if the resistance fighters knew about her? She said something like, "The've seen me" or "They've met me" or something like that, but the way it was said leads me to believe that we're going to have one of those comic-book misunderstandings that leads to a fight before they realize they are on the same side.

It makes it seem like he was simply an acquaintance, and not the father of her child; it's less endearing (or personal), so to speak.
It don't think its beyond the realm of thinking that Reese doesn't mean all that much to Sarah beyond fathering her child. I may be wrong. I also think it likely that she's simply falling into a soldier's pattern of referring to people by their last name.
