The biggest thing this show reinforces to me is that you can teach technique, but you can't teach creativity. I think about this whenever I see a chef on the show complaining about having to think outside the box (not a lesbian pun), or trying so hard to be creative but coming up with something inedible.

Antonia plays it safe but cooks perfectly, Richard experiments and has hits and misses, Steph is an even medium.
Why is Lisa there again?

My problem with Lisa is her attitude. It's painfully obvious, the way she stands at Judge's Table with her arms crossed, the way nothing is her fault, and everything she does is great.

Good observation Jadzia, she reminds me of Eric from the earlier rounds.
I like the final 3+1. Spike had a great attitude on the show, and that at least made me like him..
But Lisa, what the holy hell, I wonder what she thinks when she watches herself on tv. She's a sourpuss lesbian. The worst kind.

I have frequented one of the best restaurants here in San Diego on many occasions and while you see many in the suit/dress shirt tie thing, you see tons others dressed neatly in casual to very casual attire. I have personally gone to the restaurant in shorts and a golf shirt.
As for Lisa, I thought it was interesting that there is a slight bias against her with the judges, which along with Padme's "amazing pallete" comment indicates her food may be much better than the editing suggests. The guest "chef" LOVED her dish including the peanut butter potatoes but backed off a little when it ws clear the judges were somewhat pre-disposed to disliking it.

I'm sorry but I do not consider a T-shirt to be "presentable and neat" in a nicer dining establishment like the steakhouse they were. Say you have a 10 year old who refuses to wear a nice shirt he could get away with it but at the very least if you could not wear a shirt that is not considered business casual then you should not wear it in a restuarant like that one. I'm willing to guess that the shorts you wore were probably khakis or something like that and not a jeans material for example and a golf shirt is definitely considered business casual as compared to the t-shirt he was wearing. So I definitely would not compare what he wore to what you tried to compare it to in your own personal experience. Your outfit falls on the more business casual side. Considering the other 2 guys both had on dress shirts and a sportcoat and basically every other person that was dining there had on AT LEAST business casual if not business dress he was definitely out of place. Just my 2 cents.
Back to the actual show, Lisa so needed to go last week but unfortunately I guess Dale was worse in their eyes for that particular episode. Personally as much as I am not prone to violence whenever I saw that scowl on her face at the judge's tabke I wanted to take a baaseball bat to it. Afinal of the 3 plus Dale would have been amazing in my opinion. Personally cheering for Steph since she is the local girl but would not mind seeing Richard win as well. Let's see what Lisa meant by her "amazing" food she is going to make for them next week.

Also: calling people "bro" when you're in your forties/fifties, as tonight's guest did to Spike, makes you look pretty silly. Unless you are a frat boy, burned-out hippie, stoner, and/or surfer, you should never use that word.

as for the "bro" thing, that was obvious he was taking offense at the scallops comment, and reverted to a defensive tone. So the "Bro" slipped out. I actually give kudos to spike for making that comment. but he still shouldn't have used the scallops.

As for Lisa's palate, who cares? SHE CAN'T COOK RICE!

This has to be one huge april fool's joke by the judges on all of us.
I love how she was pissed off that they didn't congratulate her. Richard said it perfect, she came in third, whoopie.
It's going to be a tough final, well between 2 of them at least.

Go Richard, although I would have no problem whatsoever with Stephanie winning. I"ll give up on the show forever if Padma calls Lisa "Top Chef." She would be an even more undeserving winner than that tool from Season 2!
