Re: Hell's Kitchen -- Season 5 Discussion Thread -- Premieres 1/29/09

It's gonna be either:

Giovanni vs. Danny in the finale

or

Paula vs. Danny in the finale

I agree that it should be Paula Vs. Danny in the end. They seem to be the most consistent at this point. Gio could be competition too.

"Madam, I am not your dog."

Did I see it correctly that the woman was smiling when she informed her table that Gordon had sweared at her after returning her entrée for the second time? It reminded me of the scene from The Running Man when the fan was excited to have been punched by one of the stalkers.

I didn't notice but it doesn't matter much since it was all scripted anyways.

You don't seem to enjoy it. Why do you still watch it?

Habit. My gf and I both loved the show since S3, so we still watch it together even though we spend most of the episodes complaining about the lack of quality this season. We love Gordon more than anything about the show, but the formula needs a serious shake-up. Everything is way too predictable, even for a FOX show.

Re: Hell's Kitchen -- Season 5 Discussion Thread -- Premieres 1/29/09

I've been watching the show since the very first season, and I personally hope that they don't shake anything up too much. The format itself is predictable, but Gordon's choices and reactions are anything but predictable.

I'm interested to see if Paula can keep it up. She's done a great job of keeping herself out of Gordon's doghouse, but I'm not sure if it's because she's doing so well, or if she just hasn't been fully tested yet. Either way, she's easy to root for, and I hope she contines to do well.

I really hate the way every single challenge comes down to a last decider, that is starting to bug me because it is just so obviously rigged

in terms of rules in reality shows, this one has none !

I don't understand all the love for Danny. His "consistency" has hardly been documented in the show thus far. He is the least seen of all the men for certain. He's also almost too young to have enough experience for Ramsay's taste (IMHO). I definitely see Gio making it to the final two though.

And we have yet another instance where poor fat Bobby's prize is diminished because he is too fat. Ugh. Enough already.

I've want Robert to win this season. I always like an underdog and he cracks me up. I don't know if he's the best chef out of all of them but the "formula" doesn't really draw out the best chef.. just the best that don't crumble under pressure.

It looks like next week's episode will be a 10 minute series finale.

Well I guess we aren't the only ones who think these chefs suck.

They're all totally incompetent. You know it's gonna open back up.

It will be Danny vs. Paula in the end.

I was 100% certain Andrea was gone after that performance.

Also, I was actually fooled in the beginning...

So for those of you that watched the preview:

Spoiler:
who do you think is the person that gets hauled away in the ambulance (or at least has an ambulance called for)? I was thinking it was Robert with a health problem because of his weight, but since he commented on it, I guess it wasn't him.

Re: Hell's Kitchen -- Season 5 Discussion Thread -- Premieres 1/29/09

Spoiler:
It's everybody but Andrea. She finally snaps and goes on a frying pan across the head spree. Knowing Fox's editing though, it's probably for somebody sneezing.

I love how all of the previews for this past episode hyped him closing HK and then finally in the final minute he says it, only to have the first shot of the previews for next week show them working in the kitchen.

How Andrea is still around is beyond me.
