I love the BBC America version of Kitchen's Nightmares. So much better.
I never saw the UK Hell's Kitchen, but I heard Ramsay only hosted the first season.
Was thinking Paula had it it, but that always happens to me. Always the opposite of who I think will win. Good for Danny. He seemed competent.
When does the new season start? Sometime in June, right?

This is the first year where I liked both contestants at the end, but I definitely was going for Danny a little more. Glad he won. He seemed so stoked

The UK Kitchen Nightmares is awesome if you really are into cooking. They rarely have restaurants whose problem is that they are dirty or poorly run; instead, it's usually the arrogant chef or poor menus, etc. They also go back to the restaurants at least once, with some having multiple revisits.

The UK Kitchen Nightmares is one of the best shows on TV. It's won Ramsay a ton of BAFTA awards for best reality show. He's also far nicer/friendlier, and is genuinely trying to help them (which they genuinely hate everything he says even though he's clearly right) which makes all the difference.

^ I'm hoping that FOX made some changes to the US version so that it's a bit more like the UK... but, being FOX, I should know better.

It's all well and good that Gordon can get a bunch of people to come to a shitty restaurant for one night after he's done revamping it, but do they stay busy or do they go right back to being shitholes 1 month after he's gone?

He goes back a lot on the UK version, far more than he does on the US.
The restaurants are about 50% as far as success. Some keep with what he said and are doing well. Some go back to their old ways and go bust (or in one case he went back and did it again I believe). There's a handful that even with his changes they're not able to recover from their losses or they get a good offer (one guy was working himself to death and was able to sell his place at a profit to retire or something).

The UK one deals with the health aspect too. I just saw an episode about two weeks back where the main problem was an insane roach and bug infestation where the food was stored. Ramsay threw up because he had a salad from there for lunch.

Season 2 winner Heather looked totally different. I didn't recognize her at all. A change for the better, IMO, even though I thought that she was already cute.

OK, here's my question..I don't know if anyone has answered it, but who are the two people under Ramsey above the five winners in the middle row on the Wall of Fame? Does anyone know this? It's driving me crazy...

They are sous chefs. One step down from the head chef, which in Hells Kitchen is Ramsay. They seem to come out of the folds more often when the teams get smaller and need help. They will also run the kitchen when Ramsay is not around.

I think this has been talked about, but does anybody know what Danny has been doing for the last 14 months? I believe the show was filmed in March of 08 and from what I understand, he just started work at the Borgata a couple days ago.

I can't see Danny getting full reign at the Borgata right away
is it just me or did all of the previous winners look like they really didn't want to be there ?

That's another thing that should change about Hell's Kitchen. We all know that these "chefs" are not going to get the prize that the show says they're going to get (none of them have so far) so they should just be honest and say what position they'll really get.

Stupid. Danny was clearly the poorer chef throughout and won ONE challenge which fucked over Paula into being stuck with the shittier team.
Though she did pick Andrea, so...

A couple of other shows Ramsay has done for BBC are "The F Word" (several seasons worth) and "Cookalong Live." I enjoyed them both, though I put them both a notch below UK Kitchen Nightmares, but a notch above the US versions of both KN and HK.

Theyre not the same sous chef's that came out to help on the three finalists show though, so who are they? The one guy is bald, and that other girl looks nothing like the girl in the pic.

Re: How is his health now?
"You know what, I'm feeling pretty good. I hired a trainer when I left Hell's Kitchen and in preparation to have the gastric bypass. I'm going to have that right before the winter season, and lost about 50 pounds just working out, can't always turn down the Twinkie but it's a lot easier now knowing that you know, you don't want to deny yourself anything. I just, you know, try to do better."
