It didn't seem incredible random and out of place to you? I mean, it's not like they followed it up with songs from the years Paula, Randy, and Kara were born. Then, it would have made some sense to me.

As for it being a surprise for Simon, it just doesn't seem like something he would enjoy, given his dislike of all things "old-fashioned." Do you like songs from the year you were born? I don't think most of us remember them!

It's either that, or that new Burger King commercial "Baby got Box" is also working for Lil on a subliminal basis.

Just a way of Ryan teasing Simon about him being old. Simon has said his favorite song is Unchained Medly by the Righteous Brothers. Pretty old-fashioned stuff there.

Yeah, that girl has a huge ass. I don't think you can do much to hide it. The camera went around to her rear when she was singing and that thing had its own zip code.

There was no reason to "save" Scott. Sure, he's an inspiration, but he's been an inspiration just by getting this far. Saving him from a legitimate vote over a better singer smacks of reverse discrimination. I agree that this device is mostly for drama (Simon said on the Tonight Show that it gives the judges something to do on results night), and drawing it out might also be time-filler.

Agreed that overrunning the DVR and truncated feedback is really dangerous for the contestant, especially if it had been one of the fringe people. Getting judge reaction on results night after the voting is over is really not the same thing.

I didn't get the positive reaction to Matt either, and I'm continually impressed by Adam.
