American Idol Top 8, April 7 & 8. Songs From the Year They Were Born

So... who do you think will be going home on Wednesday? The theme tonight is songs from the year they were born which means plenty of '80s music.

It's Scott's time to go.

Fine with me if Adam went home. His voice (screaming and wailing) and mannerisms just plain annoy me. But that's just not going to happen with the way the judges love him.

1985 is Scotts year. Axel F was in the top 100. I'd vote for him if he played that.

I wonder what 1969 song Allison will sing.

I voted for Scott, but I think a lot will depend on the performances tonight. Anoop might be in trouble, and as much as I hate to think about it- Matt Giraud.

Lots of song selections for Scott, without the worry about hat picks. I think he'll choose either "I Want To Know What Love Is" - Foreigner or "You're The Inspiration" – Chicago.

Tonight is right in Anoop's wheelhouse though, he seems to prefer Bobby Brownish music.

It's odd to me because he almost sings like a Latino. For some reason, his big ballads remind me of Jon Secada or Enrique Iglesias. Wierd, I know, but that's what I think of.

I'd put Bobby Brown and Usher in the same R & B category, and Anoop was at his worst when singing the Usher song last week.

Good god, let's hope that's wrong. That looks almost like someone picked the worst song choice for everyone's year. And it would be boring as hell. Well, with the exception of Adam and Anoop - their choices here could be craptacularly entertaining.

Shit if that list is right, I will watch and hope every single person gets booted off and they restart the season with new people.

Of that rumored list, only Kris's makes any sense. Although, to be fair I can totally picture most of those contestants picking those songs... Scott's for sure.

Those rumored lists of songs haven't been correct for a couple seasons now.

So Matt Kris and Scott are all in 85? I'm guessing that means at least 2 will pull the "Bad Draw" card.

1985? I'm waiting for someone to pull out Starship's "We Built This City". It seems only appropriate that one of the worst #1 hits of all time gets covered on this show.

I was hoping someone would give it a whirl.

Does Simon have hearing and/or attention problems? The show barely starts and he already is again asking paula "what did she/he/it say?"

That pit for Kris was really awkward and bored looking.

Scott (1985) - You’re the Inspiration The Search Is Over
Anoop (1986) - Who’s Johnny True Colors
Matt (1985) - Part Time Lover (Correct)
Allison (1992) - Tears in Heaven I Can't Make You Love Me
Danny (1980) - Crazy Little Thing Called Love Stand By Me
EDIT: I don't care that much for Lil, but I feel bad for her. I think of all the contestants, they are the most critical of her and are giving her contradictory advice from week-to-week.

Lil would have been better off with "Let's Hear It For The Boy."
