Did any of our Centarius players witness last night's "suicide bombing" in the IF auction house?

There is a griffon master at Nijel's Point which is in the north part of Desolace. The only flight path to there though is from Theramore. If you haven't been to Nijel's Point yet, you can either fly to Feathermoon Stronghold and run north or fly to Stonetalon Peak and go thru Stonetalon and the Charred Vale to get there.

I am on Feathermoon. I have a Horde character (Ohcuorg, level 38 Troll Shaman) and an Alliance character (Oppez, level 6 Gnome Warlock).

Here's a link to the thread, if you feel like wading through the typical Blizzard fans:

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...&T=1264484&P=1

(By the way: those are the WORST forums I've ever used, bar none. The forums are slow or down constnatly, and there's no effective moderation of trolls/flamers, except when they're trolling or flaming Blizzard.).

I cant view the wow forums here at work, what happened? Looks like a warlock (?) snuck into IF and did some high level fire spell and killed a bunch of lower levels. How could the warlock get in? how could they kill the lower levels, i thought the lower level players had to attack the higher level player first? or is that only on PvE?

Here's the explanation somebody posted:
There's a raid boss in molten core that casts the effect on a random target that's aggro (Biny's pet, in this case) if you dismiss the pet with that effect on it'll hold until you recall that pet for later use. AKA: Auction house attack.
From what I understand, it was an Alliance Warlock who dismissed his pet while the spell was active on it, and then he re-cast the pet while in the Auction House. The high level effect then affected everybody in the Auction House. It skirted the PvP issue, because it wasn't a player attacking all those other players. It was a non-player enemy's spell that went off.

I think he was implying that he already had the flight path to Nijels Point. Which, Feathermoon is still closer to Maraudon.

Level 22 Mage (human) here. I just re-spec'ed my talent points last night. I put them into fire so i could get pyroblast. its awesome. a great opening shot on like level mobs, takes away about a quarter to a third of their health. I cant wait to get the "next spell auto critical" to use with it later on.

Word of advice from a level 27 Mage, pyroblast loses its coolness pretty quickly. Soon, your fireball spell will hit just as hard (with half the casting time) using less mana. Build up your talent tree with extreme caution. You'll need some of those talents before others. Improved fireblast, improved fireball, impact, and burning soul are one's that I put all of my talent points in. I'm working my way to Blast Wave now. That should help quite a bit with the stun effect.

After that, I plan to work my way up the arcane tree to get all of Improved Arcane Explosion. Imagine spamming the hell out of that in a mob. :-D

anyone want to start posting some interesting quests they found?
There was 1 quest, where i had to drink this potion in a graveyard. After drinking the potion, i died. was pissed off until i actually read the quest more carefully. apparently the quest requires you to talk to someone and that person can only be found/spoken to when you are in ghost form.
pretty cool idea.

There's some quest in the Hillsbrad Foothills for the Horde where they goto Southshore's graveyard and ressurect a level 41 elite named Heccular and his followers which are high level 30's skeletons. They kind of wreak havoc across the town. He drops good items if you kill him though.

Yeah, pryoblast doesnt look like it stays good forever, but i also really want blastwave so i figure fire is good for now. I'll pick up some of the arcanes like the clearcast chance one. I almost always team with a paladin so having the best offensive power seems more important than having defensive abilities (like ice barrier/block).
I can always re-spec later on, it only costs money.

Been using Arcane Explosion since I maxed Improved AE in the talent tree. That was at level 27 and I've solo'd my way to 30 using it. Out in Redridge Mountains I went to where the Gnoll camps are and would take out 5-6 out at a time. Go in, get aggro, use Frost Nova, back off and spam AE. Occasionally I would have to throw on Mana shield or use a health potion. The only downside was the downtime regening Mana and Health but I was getting 600-100xp per pull. If I had been teamed up with a Paladin or Priest it would have made things much easier.

Hmm. i'll have to look into AE. i never use it because it doesnt seem to do that much damage. Does it have a quick cast/cooldown that makes it so you can use it over and over?

I did that quest recently from the Horde point of view. It was real annoying because every time I'd get into Southshore I'd get ganked by the guards who were all ?? Elites to me. Finally, I managed to pull it off and it was extremely satisfying to have Hecular get sweet sweet revenge on my behalf. He wiped out quite a few guards before getting taken down himself. Made my struggle all the more worthwhile.

I could see that quest erupting into a full scale PvP war quite easily. Of course, that's a heavy PvP area anyway since the two cities are so close (Southshore and Tarren Mill).

Even though you have to wade through some immature crap and a ton of whining, the official WoW forums are still the best place to start for that kind of info.
