Quick Question: In instances, do mobs respawn after you kill them? I'm guessing the answer is yes since i just remember someone talking about parties getting split up when some one dies.

my 5 tips to leveling:

1. ignore family
2. quit job
3. eat only chips and drink only diet coke
4. ignore hygiene. if no one can smell you, you don't stink.
5. have computer near bathroom; only go to the bathroom while you're on a gryphon or on a ship.

They respawn, albeit much much slower than regular mobs. It varies by instance, but the average seems to be ~2 hours.

2 hours is good. i'm just worried that my wife and i will start playing an instance after putting our level 2.5 daughter to sleep and she'll wake up and want toast or a drink and i'll have to go tend to her for a couple minutes. If the monsters respawned real fast, it could be bad.

I just picked WoW up today. Haven't played with it much, since it's getting late and I have important work in the morning

Anyway, I created a character on the forums server, Laarstorm. Though I haven't actually done any quests yet on this server.

Is there a way to view the latency of different servers? I'll play with you guys if I can, but I'd like to find the server with the lowest lag possible. I was getting around 130-200 ish on Centarius. I'd imagine super low pings aren't as essential as they are in a FPS?

BeanDip Says "what about the bad guys"

okay what about, the Orcs, and Undead? Is anyone out there using them? Let me restate anyone from DVD Talk. I was thinking about picking up WoW, but if you're all a bunch of good guys I might pass. I mean come on it good being bad right.

no for real though is everyone here using the good guys?

Horde does not equal bad, Alliance does not equal good. I play as both, but my main is a Tauren hunter. I've actually found more jerks on the Alliance side, but that's probably because they outnumber the Horde 3:1.

KirstenS is correct. The Horde is not the bad guys. If you read the lore, it was actually the humans that broke the treaty. It doesn't surprise me that so many people choose alliance. A lot of folks are coming at this from a "Lord of the Rings" POV, and if you want to play a heroic "Tolkienesque" character you need to go that route.

Over the weekend, I decided to try becoming a "Blue" player. That's when you play your character as long as the XP bar is in the blue, and then switch when it goes purple, meaning you maximize your XP gain for all characters.

Rolled a Gnome Warlock, and had a lot of fun with him. The Newbie areas and quests are quite a bit harder when you're the only one there and don't have 50 other people clearing the mobs for you.

BeanDip Says "candy for all"

ok thanks for the information. i was undead during the beta period, but didn't bother to continue after that was over, because halo 2 was going to be out. now i've been checking out blizzard's site and the game just looks so cool.

Just a warning Beandip, I haven't been back to play Halo 2 on live since I got this game 2.5 weeks ago. Plus my tivo has been quickly filling up, and I've dropped down to about 4-5 hours of sleep a night...

You've been warned...

I also stopped playing Halo 2 and TV shows are piling up. I usually end up with 6 hours of sleep, though.

Its all worth it in the end(game).

The main reason there are so many more alliance than horde is simply due to word of mouth. Alliance was the first in beta, it wasn't until the 2nd (I believe) push that they included the horde. Ever since then, the horde has been playing catch up as far as the amount of quests. Most people generally agree that the alliance areas (and quests) seem to be much more polished and less buggier compared to the horde. It was much worse in beta how badly people favored the alliance (probably closer to 3:1 or 4:1 whereas in release, it is very close to 1.5:1 on most servers).

In beta the character i leveled up the most was a troll, so upon release i created a human so i wouldnt have to do the same troll/orc starting quests again.
I'll create another horde guy again, i'd like to play an undead.

33 Troll Hunter now... haven't played a whole lot the last 2 weeks for a variety of reasons.

Edit: Nevermind, guess the next patch got delayed for a 2nd week. Poop. Oh well, wasn't going to be any major content anyway.

Well I am absolutely worn out. Ran Deadmines today with my paladin and I just got done with Maraudon a few minutes ago with my rogue. For those of you that haven't been there yet, prepare for the longest instance in your life. Though there is some great loot to be had and that Princess Theradras is hot.

so what is the closest griffin ride to Mauradon?
I know its in desolace, but it is in the south end of the zone.
would flying to feathermoon and traveling north be closer?
