any miners out there?
I just started a new char with mining skill.
Will you always have a chance to increase your mining skill even with the newbie mines?
How can you tell?
when you mouse over the mine, there is no color (grey, yellow, orange, etc) to indicate whether you will have a chance to gain mining skill points for it.

You will stop getting skill points for copper after a while (75?) and need to move onto tin, then onto silver or iron and so on. Its not a skill you can easily increase fast, but you dont really need to increase it fast since you wont be able to find the new ore to mine til you're at higher levels and by that time you're skill will be high enough. i hope that made sense.

Just a heads up for WoW @ $12.50 a month (+tax of course)
Go to BestBuy and buy the giftcard that has the $5.00 coupon on the back and the 2 month sub card will cost ya $24.99 instead of $29.99

(it will fix all other UI mods people are using as well...something that needs to be done after every patch)
Anybody using this utility will need to download it again today if you want to use it to update for today's patch.

A client side fix to help reduce lag with a large amount of players on screen. A tiny patch.

The previous version was 1.2.3. This version is 1.2.4. Again, it's a small patch and downloads quickly like last week's patch.

New build # to use with your add-ons is 4216

Five new servers have been added today (bringing the total to 92):

Eldre'Thalas- PvE
SpireStone- PvP
Shadow Council- RP
Scarlet Crusade- RP
Firetree- PvP

Early reports indicate that the new patch is greatly reducing in-game lag.

Today's Foxtrot:

I played for a little while around 5pm PST yesterday and the lag was terrible. In IF everyone would appear naked for a second and then their cloths were render onto them. In the Wetlands it was even worse. They must have been working on the server. Later on around 9pm PST everything was great. no lag at all.

Last night was hilarious.

I rolled up a Tauren Hunter on Firetree (one of the new PvP servers). The place was PACKED with new players. I got a guild invite to a 100+ member guild within a few seconds of logging on.

For kicks, I ran her (at level 1) all the way to the Undead lands and played her over there. I was the first Tauren to reach that area, not to mention the only Hunter, and the only player shooting a gun. It was fun to be "unique".

If anything it was a good "stress test" for the new patch. Despite all the people running around, I didn't see any lag.

I had a great time. I can't wait until the next new servers are rolled out.

I've been stuck at "Authenticating" for the past few nights, but once I've gotten in I've been relatively lag free. The one exception was when the game decided to lag up during an escort mission. When the lag cleared, the mission failed.

yeah, i had lots of problems logging in too.
The add-on button on the char screen screen to remove the version checking has disappeared.
anyone else noticed this?
why did they remove this? I am so dependent on cosmo now and can't stand when a new patch comes out.

The program (WoW) must not be "seeing" the addons in the addon folder.
