Is it neccesary to keep quest items after finishing the quests they were used on? I have a handful of items wasting space yet I can't bring myself to get rid of them.

i do have one item that, i think, needs to be used for several quests.
i did do one quest where i had to gather 3 items, and then summon a Satyr to slay him. but, when i got there, he was just wandering around so i killed him and finished the quest w/out using up the 3 items. so i dumped them.

Anyone here playing horde on the Cenerias realm? I'm looking for a guild. I keep getting crap like linens that i cant do anything with but sell. I also wouldnt mind questing with others so i wont died as much. I'm a level 8 or 9 troll hunter with herb/alch. I usually only can fit an hour or so in each day (if my daughter and wife let me) so i'm no fast leveller.

You can tell the difficulty of quests based on their color:
Grey = Way below your level, least amount of XP
Green = below your level, some xp
Yellow = at your level, decent xp
Orange = above your level, good xp
Red = way above your levle, most amount of xp
Additonally, they appear in your log in order of difficulty (but seperated by zone).
Quests marked as (Elite) are even harder, and for the most part require a group.

what it didn't say was that that was thru hostile Horde lands w/ the mob that is higher than me throughout and other players who are also higher than me who, naturally, will attack on sight after checking out how puny i am (20th level hunter) - damn Tauren Druid killed me about 4 times. and it was a long long trek. so much so that of course, i got lost a couple of times which made it worse. i finally got to my destination and found a 27th level warlock killing some friendly NPCs. so i shadowmelded until he used up all his mana and got to 1/2 his hit points and then attacked!!! i almost had him but he ran away after slowing me down and i couldn't catch up.
thank goodness there was a gryffon base there b/c i was going to use the heartstone rather than running that gauntlet again. i did get to 21st level though.
one thing... there were these winged lions and i thought i could tame one b/c i'm a hunter. so i abandoned my current pet and tried... of course, the message pops up that that creature is untameable. and when you tame, for those that don't know, you have to stand still channeling while they keep attacking you (it aggros whatever you target for taming). just hope you don't die or get interrupted before the channeling is finished. so, now that winged lion is whaling on me and i have no pet.

lol, all in all, it was a good night of gaming.

moral of the story... don't just assume that the color code is totally accurate.

Happened upon a lvl 15 Elite Shaman that I (15 Warrior) and my partner (14 Druid) thought we needed for a quest. After dying the first time due to adds, the 2nd time went better and we killed him. Was really a fun fight - so much so that killing the real quest mob (regular lvl 15) seemed anticlimactic...

actually, if i had known, i would have just steered clear of it. but, the idea of a flying lion as a pet was so exciting, maybe i got too eager

I finished one yellow quest last night but leveled up on the way back and when i 'turned in' the quest it was green. I wish they would stay the color they were when they switched to '(completed)'.
Is the first aid skill like fishing or cooking or does it take the place of one of the other skill slots (like herbalism and alchemy)?

It's like fishing and cooking - doesn't take up a primary skill slot. You might not use the bandages (which you can always sell) but higher levels give you things like anti-venom potions and the like which are nice. (Remembers being bitten by spiders where the poison lingers).

in terms or guilds, do you need to meet people in order for them to sign the petition, or is it something that can be emailed?

My rogue has first aid and it's just fun to "ninja heal" people when I pass by some who need a heal. They're usually surprised and thankful ![Smilie](/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I can also apply a bandage to myself during combat (if needed) when the mob is stunned.

I'll get first-aid next time i play (i can count the hours). I know where the first aid dude is in razor hill.
Any use for Stone Arrow Heads or a Bloodstained Bow? They were not equipable and didnt have damage ratings like normal weapons.

Fishing is nice because it provides raw food to build up your cooking skill. You can also fish up nice items in the later levels. Some quests require that you collect fish - fishing can help in this regard. Plus, it's just a nice change of pace to take a break from killing stuff and just relax and fish for a bit. My best find so far is a 17-pound catfish that can be equipped in my off-hand. It doesn't do anything, but it's funny and cool(?) to run around with a catfish in my left hand for all to see! haha.
I am soooo addicted to this game.

i would like to start up an unofficial rule... if i see a horde guy fishing, i won't attack, and i'd like to get the same consideration. how about it? new WoW rule of engagement.
(clearly, i, too, am way too addicted... i can quit anytime though!

i'm not sure if i like PvP. i mean, at times, killing a horde guy is kind of interesting, but i feel kind of cheap about it. also, i'm constantly looking at the radar to see if they're around in a contested land so i'm always kind of nervous rather than trying to enjoy doing the quest.
3 examples:
found a 22 orc warrior in Astranaar, a Night Elf town, i'm a 27th level hunter. he snuck in a corner where no guard was around and then would attack a low level NPC. i killed him... he came back, i killed him again, he came back, i killed him again... he gave me a rude gesture... um, why is this fun? i killed him b/c i felt like i had to b/c he was in a NE town and no one else was around. he did attack a newbie 17th level guy (he didn't realize he was in a PvP zone).
was running on the road... 4 30th level horde guys coming the other way... too late for me to turn around and run... i get slaughtered in a few seconds.
was in stonetalon, a hordish zone, needed to get some poison sacs from flying lions... saw a tauren druid there, maybe doing the same thing? he was higher level so i waited until he was lower in hp and mana and then i killed him. i felt kind of cheap about that. and then, i had to worry that he was going to come back. which he did... and i got killed.
i haven't put much time into the RP server, but i may do so.

Hunter class is much better in the 10+ levels. The pet helps a lot. Also getting to a big city is great, i've got the most money i've ever had (like 20 silver). Selling bundles of 10 herbs at auction is a good money maker. I've also got a couple bids on a nicer axe and bow.

On new years eve i talked my wife into creating a character and playing. She made a female human paladin. After only an hour (level 3) she got bugged by some level 1 player talking about sex. The female paladin are hot, but she asks if she's going to get bugged like that all the time. I said 'no, most of the time you dont look at the chat.'
