The guy at the local Gamestop pretty much told me "We don't have any in stock, and most of the workers want one anyway, so fat chance of getting one here", so I just ordered it from the website with free shipping and no tax.
The thing does scratch pretty easily, but better that then my screen, right? Otherwise, it's pretty sleek looking, but adds substantial weight to the PSP... I mean, when I take it out I'm always surprised how light the PSP by itself is...
Also, I think for Reward Zone members, BB has both Tony Hawk and Spiderman for 29.99, which is actually 20 off of retail. there were two others, but they were originally 40 dollar games anyway, so they were only 10 bucks off...

I also encode the files using two-pass compression. I think it looks a little better.
A 2 hour movie comes out to about 400 mb.
And yes, I do decrypt the whole movie into one large file. I just find it easier to work with. You could break it down into chapters if you wanted.

I don't know if it's the novelty, but I've picked up a few more of the launch games over the past couple of weeks, and they've been surprisingly fun. The 989 NBA game, while a little awkward, is actually pretty fun, and a refreshing change from NBA street. NFL Street is a blast, especially at a 40 dollar pricepoint instead of a 50 dollar one. I'm looking forward to getting into both Tony Hawk and Untold Legends, both of which were only 30 bucks at BB (and I'm thinking about Spiderman too). Most of these games wouldn't rate at all on my tv, but the portability of it and the fact I can play it while my wife takes over the TV are great. Can't wait for some truly great games to come along...
I even met a teenager recently who can't get enough of Rengoku, of all things...
So what exactly does that Wipeout download do? I downloaded it, but I have no idea what it added... do I have to play more to unlock things?

Wow, really? The store I work at got 3 copies on release day, sold all 3, and had all 3 traded back in by the end of the week. I believe it has taken over as "most traded" PSP game. We had about 5-6 copies of NBA come in, but I think we had the 7th copy of Rengoku traded in last night.

Taken from pspworld.com:
SCEA today officially released Gamma Pack I, the first set of downloadable content for Wipeout Pure. To access the downloads simply select Downloads from the main game screen and follow the instructions. The download is 3.5MB in size and features new tracks, ships, a new team, as well as new skins. Downloading the pack directly from the PSP requires a Wi-Fi internet connection, and that the PSP be plugged into, and getting power from, the AC adapter.

In regards to the outpost/frys games.. they're WAY overcharging on them
They're adding another $20 onto the already inflated import prices that have been charged. Most of those ($60 ones) are available online at the typical import sites for $40.. the $70 ones for about $55. So watch out for them
And Smartbomb is a good game!

Holy Crap! I'm really tempted to revert back to 1.0 just to get all these games. GameBoy Color,SNES,Master System,Genesis, and NeoGeo CD. I knew there was a good reason I didn't install 1.51 yet.
Or maybe I should just sell it :P

When I downloaded the new firmware I had to have the unit plugged in. Not sure about the game info.

If you bought a japanese PSP:
