I had a chance to play it @ comic con and it seemed pretty fun. I do see the lighting issue (it was pretty dark), but it was fasted paced and seemed like it could be worth the 40 bucks. I only played it for about five minutes though, i would have to rent it before buying it.

I'm pretty sure this is a solid NO.. but I haven't heard from it in a long time. Was Tales of Eternia coming out here? I remember all the initial screenshots previewed for the PSP version were in English. I would buy a PSP in a heartbeat for this game (even though I already own it on PS1, sad, eh?).

I didn't right Death Jr. off based on name/character. All platformers have some kind of "interesting" character.
They were just trying to one up the Ratchet and Clanks, Sly Coopers, etcs. of the world with a "cool" character to get people to give it a try instead of just waiting for the next sequel or port of their favorite platforming franchise.
It's a shame the dropped the ball in the gameplay department as the character certainly had potential for some interesting ideas and level design.

I just broke down and bought a PSP. For $206 I got a PSP value pack (1.50 firmware) and the Twisted Metal game.
1) I know that I'll be buying Lumines and Hot Shots Golf for sure. What are some other solid titles to think about picking up?
2) What are the games to really look out for in the future, besides the GTA game (I'll be getting that one for sure).
3) About online play: I have a Wireless G Broadband Router hooked up to the computer in my room, and another computer on the other end of the house getting a wireless connection off of the setup. Should everything be cool for me and my PSP online here at home? I would basicly just turn the system on anywhere in my house and be able to get online?
4) Ok, if you have anything else having to do with the PSP that you'd like to share, let me know. I can't wait to have it so I can really get into it.

Clever. It's a series of JavaScript games (e.g., http://javascript.internet.com/games/blackjack.html) linked from a main page. I can think of some interesting ways to exploit this, but I'll have to wait for 2.0 before I can experiment.

How many PSP games are there that you can actually go online with and play against others across the country? Is Twisted Metal the only one?
I just went to a GameStop just now, and every worker in there told me that there aren't ANY games that you can do that with. They also told me that there isn't anywhere, (B&M or online), where you can get a 1gb memory stick for less than $150.

Oh I know you can get them cheaper. I bought one off of eBay for $86.xx after shipping.
I just found it funny that they told me that, just trying to get me to buy it there. I understand that and all...but still. Just flat out saying you can't find it anywhere else any cheaper, I can't imagine all of the parents and stuff who went in there and bought it because that said that, when they could have saved $50-$80.

I just got my PSP, and i'm feeling mixed feelings right now. For one, the screen is incredible, but i've already noticed something with many games/movies that I didn't anticipate - BLURRING! there hasn't been blur this bad on a portable system since the original toaster-sized Game Boy. When I play Lumines it's not apparant at all but with Wipeout and Metal Gear Ac!d it's becoming annoying. It hurts my eyes after only a few minutes of play.
The screen is still great though, of much better quality than the GBA SP and the NDS. Sony shouldn't have any problem with dead pixels though, I mean there's no excuse.
The games have been excellent. My initial fears of 99% of the games being recycled 32-bit generation garbage have been allayed...well, at least for some of the gems out there. Lumines is a timeless puzzler, deceptively simple at times, but there's definitely a good learning curve there. Metal Gear Ac!d is my favorite MGS game ever, I mean for everyone that complained about the lack of gameplay and whatnot should definitely take up this game. The story is also great, reminds me of the heydays of RPGs with it's text dialogue. It's also long as hell, almost 30-40 hours worth of gameplay excluding bonus stuff. Wipeout reminds me of the excellence that was Wipeout XL. So far it's only been a worthwhile purchase, although the slow pace of software releases kind of hurts.

My finding a web browser has extended my "wow" stage for now, heh.
I bought my PSP used, and when I got it there were a few scratches on it, far more than the "one or two small scratches" that the guy told me about. I found a cleaning guide on IGN which I followed step by step. I went off to WalMart to buy the three things the guide said I needed, and it worked like a charm. The screen now looks pretty much brand new, and I put a Pelican Screen Guard on there to try to keep it looking that way. I was going to get a different brand, but I couldn't find anything else other than the Pelican brand. I'll get something better in the future, since this brand really does reduce the screen quality.
I have a quick question for everyone:
I keep hearing that load times in many of the games are just insane. Is that a problem with the PSP hardware itself, or just because of faulty coded games, especially ports?
