Halo and Halo 2 confirmed to be BC out the box for Xbox 360. They will even be enhanced to 720p and widescreen!!!!

Best Buy Bundle Aftermath
I was thinking that it would be interesting to get a general idea as to everyone's BB Bundle status the day after everything went down. It might give us a decent idea as to where we all stand and possibly when we might get the Bundle, if it all. I'll start it up.

That seems strange to me, what was the point of the preorder then? I assume she must be mistaken, they should have only allowed enough preorders to be made to fill the first order. When you go to a B&M store on the 22nd if you don't get a console you should be able to get a raincheck that allows you to get the console when it arrives in the second batch. Why would you preorder a raincheck or better yet why would they allow you to unless they were in a situation like gamesrush/EB games where they didn't know how many consoles they would be getting on launch day?

Hello all, first time poster - and I hope i dont step on any toes here , but I just want to know if anyone knows what games from the xbox will be able to play on the 360? The only reason i haven't pre-ordered my 360 is i coudn't find my answer about backwards compatibility - i come here and in 2mins i see it will - only limited to some games....

Best Buy's system probably just uses 'backordered' for pre-orders since they don't have any of these consoles in-stock at the moment.
When I ordered (2-day shipping), I was given an estimated date of 11/19. Not sure if that's when it's expected to arrive or when it's expected to ship (I wouldn't think it'd be the former), but as long as I have it in my hands before Thanksgiving, I'll be happy. If mine hasn't shipped by the 22nd, I'm cancelling.

I'm somewhat relieved to read that everyone is in a similar situation...unless that means that there were very few orders that went through...and those people with successful orders aren't posting their info to any boards.
Adam, I saw exactly the same things as you did in terms of shipping. I upgraded to the the 2-day and I saw the date of 11/19 as well. Of course, that all went away with the backorder business.
I think I'll definitely head out to a few local stores the night before (perhaps a 24-Walmart) or early in the morning if the BBonline situation isn't clarified.
Just to make sure, cover all my bases. etc.

DDD sale and 360 release within the next 2 weeks. Not good for the wallet.
Finally got to play with a working 360 kiosk at Gamestop. For a demo, I thought it was pretty dumb that COD2 didn't get you right into the game: you had sit in the car and wait until the car stopped to start shooting. As far as the King Kong demo, I played the level where you fight the T-Rex. I punched him for awhile, and wasn't sure if there was something else I was supposed to do. No lifebar or anything (I didn't really expect one, its not like its a fighting game), so I wasn't sure if I almost defeated him or not. Either way, after a few minutes of pounding the T-Rex I quit the game to try out Kameo. Again, I thought this game took too long to get to the action, especially since it was a demo. Based on the demos, I don't think I'll be getting any of these games at launch, assuming I'm able to get a system. I'll probably only pick up PD0, since I liked the first one on N64.

I can verify that "backordered" status is what they use for preorders. Like I said, that's the status they used when I preordered the PSP. Also, I currently have an open preorder for metroid prime: hunters for the DS, which has been delayed until next year, and that has a status of backordered. You'd think they could change their system to not do this, especially since I've seen on multiple boards that people are cancelling their orders because of this. Of course, this doesn't mean 100% that this is the case here, but that's what it seems to be. I wish customer service would get some reliable info, though.
The ship date is also usually bogus... last time, they shipped I think the day before release, so the next day guys would get it right away.

I thought the same thing. I was thinking "hmm, am I supposed to be doing something here". I started targeting the other guys in the jeep with me and debated whether or not to pull the trigger on them. Lucky for them, I was in a good mood
