Yeah, trial keys should be easy to find now, since Blizzard is giving people 30 free days if they give someone a trial key and that person becomes a paying member.

Well I broke down and bought WoW this afternoon.

Starting out and learning the ropes.

Level 7 Human Warlock...and I've done all the quests on my own so far...all pretty easy although I've died several times learning the spells, etc. Getting there though.

I'm on Muradin if anyone seems me....!

Character name is *Mohrrlock

cya on the field!

Nuts, I got sucked into playing this game again! I've already quit 3 times. This time, I wanted to see how well it ran on my iMac using Boot Camp.

Anyway, was wondering, what's the consensous on getting rid of old soulbound armor/weapons? Do most people just sell them to any vendor? Or do you have an alt that hangs out by the mailbox, ready to disenchant the materials and send them back to you (and i guess, since i'm not an enchanter, I'd either sell the dust/shards, or keep them for buying an enchantment from someone)?

Either sell to the vendor or DE myself (before I picked up enchanting that stuff went straight to the vendor)

So in most cases the vendor buyback price would be more than the auction value of the dust/essense/shards?

If they're soulbound, you can't mail them to another alt. So if your character with the old armor/weapons is not an enchanter, your only option would be to vendor them.

Oh yeah! Forgot about that. As you can tell, it's been a while since I've played!

Ok! I signed into WoW 14 day trial. I am on the Thrall server. Created a dwarf Paladin. Anyone care to join me? Is there any limits to playing on these trial accounts? i am level 6 already!

I don't think there is a limit. Don't worry, the first 15 or so levels come pretty fast, but you'd have a pretty tough time getting to 60 during your 14 day trial.

Damn....almost joined Thrall. Took Muradin instead.

I've got a level 10 Human Warlock (getting better) and a level 3 Gnome Rogue.

Getting used to the quests and an overall feel for the game. Almost gave up on my Warlock but I found some new spells (training) and she's getting there. Slowly but surely!

Remember everyone was a newbie at one time!!!!

Trial accounts do have limits on them. I think there's a lv 20 cap, a cap on how much gold you can have, and there's limits on chat as well. I'll have to look them up to be sure.

I encountered my first bot on Sunday. I reported it then. Apparently Blizzard doesn't actually care about such things, as as of today the bot is still in the same exact area following the same exact path.

There has been a rise in the number of botters lately. I've reported 5 myself just on Sunday. Apparently, they do bannings like once a month. We'll have to wait and see if they actually get banned. According to them, they banned 30,000 accounts in May... But those numbers won't mean anything if we don't see it working on our own servers.

I'm up to level 13 today....having a blast! Bit tough around level 10 and some of the quest but I've started to figure some of the skills and talents out and I'm getting better. Man I hate being the newbie Either way...getting there!

I've read up on the botters, I also saw that they banned 30K accounts last month. Lets hope they keep doing it.

Diablo 2 is over-run with botters also, but the difference is D2 is free. If it is something I pay for like WoW...I expect it to be free, or at least almost free, of cheaters. Just my opinion.

FiveO: you have your Voidwalker pet, dont you? the voidwalker makes think so much easier when you quest alone.

There is so much to this game. I've been playing for a year and a half and still havent seen it all. Once you hit 60 and find a good guild, its like a completely different game. I'm still having a blast.

Can someone explain how PvP works for me?

I always used to play on a non-PvP server, and always got confused when people talked about "turning on their PvP flag" or something like that. I couldn't figure out how to do that. Except once, I accidently killed a civilian, and that turned on my flag automatically for a couple of minutes.

So my latest character is on a PvP server, since I thought that might add some excitement. Mostly, it just means whenever I run into a Horde guy, he kills me before I even realize he's there. But last night, I had a quest over to the Barrens, so I figured I'd try to kill a few horde scum while I was there. But it wouldn't let me. The mouse cursor didn't turn to a sword, and it said they were not valid targets. Until one guy attacked me first, and then I was able to smoke him (Yeah! My first PvP victory!).

But then I got the 1000 Needles, and I was able to ambush this priest no problems. So I don't get the distinction.

And what about the neutral cities? I've heard that the bouncers will kill you if you attack someone there, but what happens if you attack someone while on the boat? Is that ok to do?

The way it works is there are three different types of zones, Friendly, Contested and Unfriendly. If you go into an unfriendly zone like the other faction's city you cannot attack anyone unless they attack you first. The barrens is a friendly zone to the horde, that is why you could not attack anyone there first.

The way you can tell is when you enter the zone if the name is in green it is friendly, yellow is contested and red is unfriendly. In contested areas anyone can attack at any time. The exception to this is if someone ports into a friendly area from an uncontested area their pvp flag will still be on and you can still attack them first.

As for the neutral cities the guards will kill you if you attack anyone near them. As for the boats I don't think there are any guards on them but they are all in friendly areas except Ratchet so there won't be any intervention from guards if you fight on them.

Yes there are limits, level 20 is the max level, you can't use the bank or mailbox and you can't talk in general chat I don't think.
