Yeah, Bane is the first boss fight, and there are three bosses not counting the final boss. So you are probably about 33% done.
Arkham Asylum is very short though if you don't care about getting 100% by collecting all the Riddler trophies and getting perfect scores in the challenges. It can be run through in about 5 hours. I have gone through the entire game 100% in less than 8 hours.

Of course, one you defeat Bane, you'll know how to defeat pretty much every bad guy in the game after him -- so that should make the rest go much quicker.

^ I understand what you're getting at, but that move isn't nearly as bad in that sense as the way they have Batman pretty much flying through the city as if he's Superman, or at least Hawkman.
But yeah, I think those have more to do with making a more fun game rather than having to do with making him more super-powered.

Yeah, don't get me started on the Batman's new "Gliding/Flying" abilities. Building to building is one thing, but from one part of the city to the next is too much.

Screw that. The PC version will get a 98, boasting its clear superiority over the PS3's 97.

Re: Batman: Arkham City Thread
The Arkham City developer says it wants to make the game as good as possible on all platforms.
Rocksteady's Sefton Hill says that PC gamers will forget all about the Batman: Arkham City delay when they see how good version they are getting is. Rocksteady and Warner recently pushed back the game's PC release date from October to November.
Hill didn't spill the beans directly about the reasons for the delay, but he did imply that Rocksteady was using the time to give the game a little extra polish. Hill, who is the game's director, said that Rocksteady were very aware of the differences between the various platforms, and wanted to make sure that it ran as well as possible on the PC. He also said that Rocksteady listened to feedback as much as possible, both from the PC gamers within the studio and from those without.
"We got a lot of credit on the first one, about how well it played on the PC, and how well refined the controls were," he explained. "It's because part of our attitude is always to listen to those people. We want to make the best game we can for all SKUs."
Hill said that PC version of Arkham City would be the best looking of the lot, with a more fully realized world and higher resolution textures. He said that the delay was only a couple of weeks, and that PC gamers would agree that it had been worth it.
Batman: Arkham City comes out for PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 18th, and on PC in November.

If you buy a specially marked can of some energy drink called NOS, you can redeem that code for 1 point on their website and get a Batman Beyond Skin. I just went to the store and found it. I redeemed it and promptly dumped that crap down the drain.

I am mostly a PC gamer and really only play games on consoles that never make it to PC. Being such a Batman fanatic like I said in an earlier post, waiting an extra month is going to be hard. I am even considering buying the 360 version now and then selling it on ebay next month once the PC version comes out.

Yeah, I already knew that was why the PC version was delayed until November. It will be using DirectX11 and higher resolution textures than the consoles can handle. Even the original Arkham Asylum game took advantage of PhysX to create noticeably better graphics than the console versions.

Oh well I guess my good streak with amazon has come to an end. They screwed up and didn't ship my order out and now I will have to wait to Oct 19th to get my order. They refunded me the whopping 99cents shipping and handling.

I scored pretty big at Gamestop tonight. In addition to getting the Collector's Edition plus the strategy guide they were giving out a shirt to people who had it pre-ordered. Plus ours was doing trivia questions and I won one of three posters and a Joker promotional standee for the game. I was pretty happy, good way to end my birthday!

I use mouse and keyboard when playing AA and it isn't bad at all. In fact, I actually prefer it to using a controller. Since the controller has less buttons, for a few things like quick batarang and quick batclaw you have to double tap the shoulder button to use, and sometimes in the middle of combat the double tap doesn't always register which messes up your combat combo. With a keyboard everything gets its own key so no double tapping is needed, and I can often get higher combat combos.

PhysX wasn't required for AA, and certainly won't be for AC either. PhysX is never a requirement for any game.

Kinda wish I hadn't looked at that spoiler. I bet that'd be creepy as hell the first time it happens in the game.
