How could you love the demo and then not be impressed by the game thus far, especially considering two of the first three levels were from the demo?

And for the record, I had a freeze at the same spot you did. Only issue thus far.

Loving the experience so far. One thing in particular really got me and made me restart as it wasn't what I wanted to do. I totally just reacted and then regretted resetting as it really was just instinct. Which was fantastic!

Yep, I did this too when I
Spoiler:
shot the religious guy as soon as the prompt came up. I was very careful to talk him down and he put the gun down and then I shot him as he was being handcuffed.

I was pissed! But I'm not restarting anything. 2nd playthrough can be perfect.

For this thread, context should be included for quotes. Too many variables in the game to not possibly spoil something for players.

Make sure to put some context with this... like "third chapter" at the very least. I read it, thinking you were talking about (in the backyard)
Spoiler:
letting your kid beat you with his sword
..but alas you weren't, and now that part is known to me before i wanted it to be.

Well, I didn't expect to play them again is what I am saying. Plus the tutorial level wasn't all that great.

Re: Heavy Rain -The Official Thread (Launches 2/23/10)

I am loving this game, but have one question regarding what button to push during one of the events.

Sorry, more context. I think the fourth chapter, with Shelby.
Spoiler:

During the scene where Shelby is fighting Stone Cold in the hooker's apartment, he begins to hit you with a wig mannequin. I think its the third time, it asks me to hit what looks to be a PS controller in a circle?? I've retried three times and can't figure out what that one is.

My bad. This game is tricky because it's hard to recognize what chapter we are on because there are so many and they seemingly fly by. I could have put Jayden's investigation but that could have meant the first part, not the second. I think I'll just refrain from talking about it for awhile. Don't want to ruin the experience for anyone else.

Yeah..that's my thing. There is such a flow that without going to the main menu and actually looking at mission titles you really have no idea what chapter you're on. It's really hard to talk about and be mindful of folks.

Re: Heavy Rain -The Official Thread (Launches 2/23/10)

It is hard, I agree...perhaps an estimate of where you are?

I don't know - I really want to talk about the game, but it's such a personal experience here that possibly tainting others actions sounds sad.

I will say though, I did not play the demo, so it was all new to me. The mall scene was fucking INTENSE. I don't know if it's because I have a kid cooking in the oven right now or what, but I was so emotionally involved in that scene that I fear for the rest of the game!

Regarding Ethan and his final shot before the next character's first scene
Spoiler:
i'm hoping the origami was a dream, i don't want to be in control of a killer of little kids

Re: Heavy Rain -The Official Thread (Launches 2/23/10)

So how is the extra content integrated with the game? Do I wait until it's available, or will I be able to jump into it later if I start playing now?

Re: Heavy Rain -The Official Thread (Launches 2/23/10)

It's listed as extra content and selectable from the main menu, and because it's not directly tied to the story you won't miss anything. I think. Look at it as an episode of the xfiles that didn't tie into the mythology, but was a good standalone 'monster' episode.

Re: Heavy Rain -The Official Thread (Launches 2/23/10)

I played up to the convenience store scene last night (hopefully that is vague enough). Really great so far. The voice acting and some of the faces are a bit off, but the story and characters have still drawn me in. If I didn't have a lot to do at work, I would have just taken the day off. I wanna see what happens next!

Also, L&O, regarding your spoiler in post #387, I agree. I really hope it doesn't go that way.

Re: Heavy Rain -The Official Thread (Launches 2/23/10)

For those that have done The Bear (Parking Garage)

Spoiler:
Holy fuck! That ending had me shitting my pants. What panic. I was freaking out. I think knowing that characters can die has only made those scenes more intense. Even if it might never happen at that specific spot, even if I were to "fail", it's always in the back of my head that it could happen at any given time. Really makes me tense, which means my ability to push buttons in a specific order becomes kind of a crap shoot. (Especially when they're UPSIDE DOWN! Brilliant!)

I can't stop thinking about this game, and I only played about an hour. Well fucking done Quantic Dream.

Fro - good way to indicate the spoiler. Likely makes sense for people who are there, and is vague enough those who aren't won't click it.

I think by location is probably the best plan of attack. Most of them are generic enough to not give anything away, but there's not been any crossover as of yet so it'll also probably stand out to those that have been there.

I played like 5 hours of it yesterday. Good lord.

I made my origami bird during the install. That was pretty fun, and a clever way to pass the time.
