Well said.
Actually I'm reading reports that this should only be a UK deal and those in the US shouldn't be able to download it.
Then they're goddamn idiots.

Yeah, you have to use your EU PSN account to download the demo. It says invalid code if you use your NA account.
So, L&O how long is the demo? You said short, but it's short like 10 minutes? or short like 30 minutes?

I said it's short? I'm choosing not to play the demo and will wait for the full game.

The four pieces of evidence are:
• Short cigarette (117b)
• Origami bird
• Coffee shop C (it says "diner")
• 117h (tyre tracks).
Be care about which coffee shop you pick as there are several, and you must submit the correct one to get the code. Likewise, the writing on the "tyre tracks" is difficult to read.

Damn psn is slow.. I'm at over 2 hours and only about 900 megs downloaded, and I have a 20mbit connection.

Wow! I can barely afford my 5meg connection (of which I'm splitting the bill). How did you afford 20?

I'm at 82% having started about two hours ago. Maybe there's an issue with your service provider today and not PSN. Cos I should be way slower than you.

Color me meh. Lovely graphics but lots of tearing. The music ranged from pretty good to trying too damn hard. The only good actor was the PI at the beginning. Everyone else sounded awkward.
It hasn't killed my interest in the game but it didn't get me all too excited either. It's a different and unique experience but the demo didn't enthuse me like the concept does.

I got the EU demo and loved it. I played the "convenience store" segment at PAX, and thankfully this demo covers two completely different segments. One is a little more action-oriented while the other involves some crime scene investigation. As someone who loved the idea behind Indigo Prophecy but hated the way the story went off the rails, I'm super excited for a spiritual successor that's more grounded in reality.

"Meh," indeed.
I agree with all your points and add, QTE. I knew it was all QTE going into this but, ugh. Other than being an obnoxious control method, you can't focus on what is going on, on the screen when you are focused on button presses. Instead of feeling immersed (which is what I'm sure they are going for) I feel more like I'mplaying a game watching a really long cut scene than in other games.
And why get all cutesy with the dialog/button options? Multiple times my character got in the way of what button I was supposed to see. Very odd design choice. Wouldn't be a problem if I had a camera... but... no camera movement. We have the VG equivilent of the movie Batman where he can't move his neck because of the cowl. No head turning (only in certain situations!) so you have to move your entire character to look around. One last one? Holding down R2 while you walk[really-really slow]. Seriously? I guess that's good though so your character doesn't accidentally walk out into traffic when you inevitably fall asleep.
I think it's a pass all around for me (no sale, rent borrow, etc.). Would it kill them to make my character walk a little faster? Sounds silly, I know, but if I could move faster it might hold my interest long enough to play through it. And, yeah, yeah, they're going for realism, but it seems like an awfully convenient way to pad the length of the game.

Finished the Demo and I will wait for price drop on this. Slow movements, screen tearing and I can see myself getting physically tired after playing this for an hour and losing interest.

Kinda wishy-washy about the demo as well.
I actually like the concept of an interactive storyline, just like with Indigo Prophecy, but I felt that the execution with the controls wasn't as spot-on as they needed to be. The button hold-downs/taps and analog "sweeps" were a little clunky, the visualization of dialogue options swirling around the characters' heads was more infuriating than anything else, and the entire range of movement while shuffling along at a lumbering walk was rickety at best. Heavy Rain does look excellent (though the tearing was noticeable, maybe just an issue with the demo), and the ideas behind the control mechanisms are enveloping. It's just sporting a few kinks that I wasn't terribly fond of during my play-through.

Replayed the Shelby segment a few times. The action sucks (it felt more satisfying to let the goon wail on him given the lingering moment afterward with Lauren). Yeah the the movent is unnecessarily slow. It actually kills the intensity of the impending action sequence as Shelby leisurely walks to the rescue.
The only camera control is an angle button.
That said, I did enjoy the different ways the conversations with Lauren can unfold. This is were the game truly shines. I'm really torn on this one.
