Super Mario. Odyssey is...interesting so far, but to me, it doesn't even feel like a real Mario game so far. Like, I may be one of the few, but I loved Super Mario Sunshine (aside from the stupid levels without the jetpack thing, funnily enough). I loved Sunshine. Of course I loved Mario Bros. 1-3, and especially Super Mario World, but I actually never played Super Mario 64. This one just feels kind of odd, at this point. I know I'm only on like the second level or something (the sand place, is what they say), but I hope it gets better, cause so far I'm a bit disappointed. Not like as disappointed as I was with the Zelda game, but at least this one I thought I could just pick up and play and have fun, but I didn't really feel that way...The first level was fun but I was surprised to kind of wanna just put the controller down and do what I'm doing now (which is rewatching The Sopranos; I'm on Season Two already, and only started a couple nights ago)...But...I did manage to squeeze in a bit of the other game...
Stardew Valley...Just started...Named my character and all that...Even though I really didn't even "start" the game, aside from the basics, I'm really looking forward to this one. It just seems right up my valley...I was somewhat hesitant to purchase, cause I feared it might be too close to Animal Crossing, but I have a feeling I'm going to love this one, and I'm afraid I'll get too addicted...Like, Animal Crossing kind of already has me waking up at 5:00 AM even if I'm not working, just to see what the town has to say and what is new in Nook's store (which, unfortunately is usually nothing), and I'm worried how much of my time this game will take up, but I'm cautiously looking forward to it...And I love the SNES visuals...This game is just totally up my alley, and I can't wait to dive in, but at least, for tonight, I wanna watch more Sopranos before I get addicted to yet another game...I considered buying Hades instead of this, but I looked at some video reviews of Hades, and as super-hyped up they were, that just doesn't seem like my type of game...I'd probably prefer that Pokemon game, but that'll be only if I have funds to spare...I figured that Super Mario was worth it, and when I saw how cheap this game was? I was like, damn...Might as well...Especially if I have to avoid the roommate and go to the park or something...At least I can play this game or Animal Crossing, and wait for his car to leave the driveway...Then? Back home...
Has anyone else played this Stardew Valley game?

Well, I've put multiple hours into this Mario game and I'm not impressed. Lack of direction or just basic instructions (much like that Zelda game). Back in the day a Mario game was just something you could pick up and play (remember Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World?). This one is a little frustrating. Like, I've said it before, I loved Super Mario Sunshine, but this certainly isn't that. I really, really wish I had purchased that game as opposed to this (I understand you can get some package of that game, but its out of print, so I couldn't find it at the store closest to me, and I can't order it from Amazon cause my credit is F**KED). That one? I could pick it up and play and not be frustrated...This one can be infuriating at times...Much like the Zelda game, I'm pretty disappointed...Oh well, back to Animal Crossing and probably some more Smash Bros., although that game has it's own frustrations, just in terms of some of the bizarre things they put onto matches, some of them I'm just like "f**k this"...I did manage to unlock every playable character in that game so there's that...But, man, I really wish I had some buddies around to play the game in person, as opposed to online...It really changes things...And I'm still "on call" for my stupid-ass job...Isn't a great way to spend the day, constantly (maybe) hoping you get called in...

Well, the Super Mario has failed to impress. It's nothing like Sunshine, which I pretty much loved off the bat. It's an okay game, but there's a lot of things that annoy me about it. I'm sure it will pick up, but this game, along with the Zelda one, both left me pretty disappointed. I'm loving Skyrim, as this is like my third play-thru, although the controls are a little more difficult on the Switch (I need to get one of those Pro Controllers people constantly rave about; that would also probably let me enjoy Resident Evil 4 more, cause while it's fun, the Joy-Con controllers just weren't made for this game). Been binging on Animal Crossing quite a bit, as usual, and that remains my kind of go-to game when it comes to the Switch. Still kinda looking for maybe one more game to buy...leaning towards Pokemon, Luigi's Mansion 3, or Mario Golf (despite hearing horrible things about it, as bad as it might be, I need some Mario Golf...I still actually held on to the GameCube version, but sadly had to sell my system when times were tough...kinda looking to see if I can buy one cheap on Kijiji, but damn, a lot of people are selling their GameCubes at a premium...Might be a while til I get one of those)...Also kept the Simpsons game that was like GTA, WaveRace, and Timesplitters 2...Oh, and two versions of NHL Hitz...Couldn't part with those games, even though I had to part with the system...
And even though I've just delved into it, I'm loving this Stardew Valley game. Really addictive, but I'm trying to pace myself...

Guess I'm liking Super Mario a little bit more, after finally managing to open up like 4 different worlds. Still doesn't compare to Sunshine, but oh well. Also tried Zelda for like the tenth time and I just don't get it. It's an okay game, I guess, but I have absolutely no desire to keep picking it up and playing. Like, despite my issues with Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros., I'd way, way rather play those games than Zelda. Still interested in Stardew Valley, although the learning curve seems a bit steep. I really need to read up on some instructions cause for the most part, I'm lost. Nevertheless, still amazed by Animal Crossing, and continue to play it every day. I literally actually set my alarm (even though I tend to wake up early anyway) to 5:00 AM, just so I can start the day off with the game. It's that addictive. Was going to go get either the big Pokemon game or Luigi's Mansion 3, but it's been pouring cats and dogs, and the closest retail store to me is like an hour there, and an hour back, so I said f**k that. I'll maybe go tomorrow. Roommate is still bugging me, and I swear to god if he comes upstairs one more time to bother me, I'm going to punch him in the face. I'm not a big guy or anything, but I know, I know I could kick his ass. He's an overweight, stupid-ass f**k and he just needs to leave me alone...I'm a good tenant. I basically stay in my room all the time, there's no reason for him to bother me. But, that's me venting...Whatever...

re: The last video game you bought (that you’re actually going to play)
Have to say, I purchased Mario Golf. Most people seem to hate the game...and there's defintiely drawbacks (lack of levels for one), but I'm super enjoying it. Even more so than Mario Kart or Smash Bros. I do golf, at times, when I can afford it, so that probably skews my view, but I'm genuinely enjoying this game...Wish it had more courses, but aside from that, it's fun...
I'm not gonna lie, I loved the N64 version and the GameCube version more. They were just a lot more intricate and detailed, and I really had to aim my shot, when I shot. But this? It's a fun game. I'm not against the AI, which usually seems generally fair (like, I lose as most matches as I win)...It's just fun...I wish it was a little more difficult but oh well...It's not nearly as bad as people have said, aside from the lack of levels, which is a bummer...they obviously could've included more and it seems like it was a rush job and that's why they couldn't...Would've loved to see some more varied locations, but maybe they'll release them as DLC...who knows...I'm just really glad I purchased this game as opposed to Pokemon, was really leaning toward that one, but opted for this, and I couldn't be happier...I kinda wanna get that Mario Tennis game now....Just cause I've enjoyed this one so much...

never played any of others, but I was blown by review and footage of this. Didn’t even know not not out quite yet, but 40GB already dl’d, so I’ll get to try this weekend. Looking forward too. Like a much better Scarlett Nexus, which I haven’t gotten into much yet, but loved the demo. Thus the purchase. This looks to dial that one up big time. Anyone play this series? Questyn? Thoughts, impressions…

Review embargo lifts Monday. We shall see….
God I hope it’s not hard, frustrating and unforgiving like Returnal.
