Is the base universal like the figs?

Activision has said no new Call of Duty for the Wii U, even though the last few have been on the system.

Gotta do what makes money I guess. Wonder when the last multi-gen Call of Duty will be.

The month Ghosts launched, this was the breakdown of sales by platform:

Xbox 360: 55.45%
PlayStation 3: 30.42%
PlayStation 4: 7.39%
Xbox One: 6.42%
Wii U: 0.33%

I'm sure it just doesn't make sense financially, although to be fair, the Wii U has been behind the 8 ball with CoD (announced later, less promotion behind it, reduced DLC support, etc.).

No.

You can use the Wii U and PS3 base on the Wii U (not sure about the PS4/Wii). Apparently the Xbox ones have a special chip in them that won't make them work.

FYI - The starter packs are $30 at Target.

Not surprised.

They gimped the Wii U versions anyway. I can't imagine there were many people buying/playing these with limited online friends to play with.

By the time they release Watch Dogs few people will care and they can once again blame poor sales (along with probably either removing features or no DLC).

In the mean time, Nintendo owners can play Smash brothers, Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad, Bayonetta, Sonic Boom etc. this Holiday.

I would be more surprised if Watch Dogs gets released on the Wii U at all at this point.

As of a few days ago they still said it was coming.

I won't be buying it so it doesn't really matter to me, personally. I doubt any extra work has gone in to it and delaying it will serve no purpose but to hurt sales. They might as well just release it the same day as Smash Brothers so they can further claim poor sales.

In case you wanna read more about how the original Bayonetta has been spiffed up on the Wii U: http://platinumgames.com/2014/06/20/wii-u-bayonetta/

I'm really excited to play through the first game again before tearing into the sequel, and because I'm weird like this, I'm also glad that Bayonetta is physically packaged with Bayonetta 2 and not some download thingie.

Just saw that. Sweet! I'm really excited for the characters outside of the Mario universe like Link. And I didn't think we would get that many courses.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

"Nintendo" Kart should have been a thing years ago, so this is a nice start.

That being said, I hate the way each character affects the kart. Once they went to customizable Karts, they should have toned down how much the character affects the top speed. I like Shy Guy so more skins are nice, but he's slow as fuck. I'm certainly never using him if I want to win a race. It's Metal Mario or Mii every time.

This is the best chance to get me to buy. They should do a bundle with the discs.

Now thats DLC done right. Though May is so far away, it's a good way to get some longevity out of it.

Nice, all I can think is Nintendo would have made a killing with DLC for Mario Kart on the Wii Glad they're doing this finally.

They offer the option in the shop. It's just like a Season pass for other games.

I bought both and got my Yoshi and Shy Guy skins.

Cool. I wasn't sure if the skins were available now or when the DLC releases.

Wow, why so far out? To maintain presence while they work on more 1st party titles?

That'd be my guess...to ensure that MK8 is a game people are talking about, playing, etc. as long as possible.

This strategy is never questioned when they companies do it. Why just Nintendo? Many developers offer Season passes and I see this as exactly the same thing.
