Yeah, that's the new standard price for it. I was in Target and they had their normal, non-sale, tag up with the new low price and everything.
I'll be using the $20 something I have on a Walmart gift card from a return to get it soon now.
I just got LEGO City Undercover and I'm fairly sure my wife picked up Pikmin 3 for me for Christmas, so I'm just about caught up on owning all of the Wii U games that matter to me.

Glad to hear it! The gamepad seems like it'd be a perfect fit for Minecraft.

That is a pretty nice jump isn't it?
My wife did indeed get me Pikmin 3 for Christmas. Oh man I am loving this game. I never played much of the first two, just barely any at all actually, and I think that was a mistake. I'm having so much fun with this one so far. It's so beautiful too, everything is so vibrant and at times very lifelike, especially the fruits!

Whoops, haha.
Really though, I got to what I assume is the first "boss". I defeated it after trying a few times but I couldn't get anything back to "base" or whatever you call it in time. I barely even beat the boss and the timer started up to get back in a hurry as soon as I defeated it. I guess I just need to practice. I sure do love the game though.
I was also devastated when I realized that my Pikmin could die and you then watch their spirits float up looking all sad. Good lord, that hit me in the gut, lol.

Whatever you complete/kill will still be dead the following day. So you can try the day over to try and get the fruit/enemies back to the Onion/Ship or just keep playing and you can clean up on the next day.
I assume you figured out any stray Pikmin will die at the end of the day if left in the wild.

I didn't know any of that first part. I'll check that out tonight. I did realize that they die at the end of the day if left out though, yeah. They at least make that pretty clear.

I started the Lego City game - I'm more than a couple hours into it and I honestly find it kinda' boring and, more than anything, it makes me itch to go back to playing GTAV...

Guys is it true you can use the wired Xbox 360 headset with the Wii U gamepad with games that support in game chat?
Also is there a list of games that support in game voice chat?

Notch sez:
I am not aware of any plans to release a Wii U version of Minecraft.
I agree a Wii U version would make sense, btw. The only reason for no current plans is we've got too much work already. I <3 Nintendo.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I did a quick search and couldn't find what I was looking for, so maybe y'all can help...
Is it possible to update the Wii U by downloading a file to a USB drive or CD/DVD?
My brother finally set up his Wii U (which he bought before Christmas 2012...) and it's having trouble downloading the latest update because it's so damn far away from his router, that the internet connection on the Wii U is intermittent (really, mostly non-existent, but connected for 1 or 2 seconds out of every 45 to 60 seconds, so every time it tries to update, it fails immediately).
Normally, I'd probably just leave it as-is, but he's using it on a DLP HDTV with overscan that can't be turned off, and the original launch-day update still didn't have the scaling option that was made available earlier this year.

Just a heads up, i discovered that DuckTales Remastered is in the eShop for $7.50 until 1/2/14.
... and yes, I am able to get into both the WiiU and 3DS eShops today.

I got a $20 eShop card for Christmas. I'm debating between NES Remix and Earthbound. I'm leaning NES remix since I'm also playing P4G.

I'm thinking that the time is right for me to finally pick up a Wii U console.
Does anyone here know is Best Buy lets you combine offers?
There's currently a $25 GC with the purchase of the console, as well as an offer for a $15 savings code (toward a future purchase, to be e-mailed later) with the purchase of $150 or more.
Additionally, I have an offer from my AMEX credit card that will refund $25 to my account when I spend $250 or more at Best Buy.
This should save me $65.

Did they finally unify the WiiU and 3DS web stores yet, or do I have to apply the points cards separately?
Best Buy's 20% off deal for Nintendo Points cards became a little better since it now stacks with the in-store, get a $15 gift card with $100 purchase.
