I decided to try out Assassins Creed Black Flag. I tried #2 back when it came out but it didn't do much for me. Really digging the Pirate theme and sailing around the kinda open world. Graphics on the Wii U are great.

Went to trade in some stiff at BB and grab Mario tonight. Sold out! Well not totally true, they had a lone copy that suffered the box cutter fate and had been sliced top to bottom. Needless to say I'm waiting for a real copy.

Let me know if you decide to get rid of it. I just picked up a Wii U, so I'm looking for games. Thanks!

Slowly working through the 13 games we got for Christmas... tonight we opened WiiU Party!
4 of the kids played "High Rollers" (the wife and say out, as did the middle child).
The concept was the same, but the level was kind of different. Each round started out with a mini game to determine the order, dice were awarded and distributed, and rolled to see how far down the track you got. We found the game simple enough and fun enough for the 15-year-old all the way down the four-year-old.
Those who did not play tonight will play a game tomorrow.
Pretty decent game so far!

I got my 100 coins on NES Remix and unlocked the Zelda challenges.
I went through a bunch of Excitebike levels until i remembered that the turbo button existed

Is that a hard-lined rule, or is it because you lost to lower ranked opponents and therefore hurt yourself more? Surely losing to higher ranked opponents is less damaging, yeah?

I'll probably pass on Dr. Luigi. I'm not the biggest puzzle game fan, and I have a WiiU backlog. io still need to finish Mario, W101, Zelda WW, and NES Remix.

My wife has really caught the Marion bug. She has always been a vert casual player. We stated a co-op game that she really enjoyed, so she started her own single player game as Peach. She on World 4 I think and is aggressively going after stars. Its been fun to see her get into a more traditional game than Candy Crush.
Probably doesn't hurt that she has Wii Fit U, so she is getting more comfortable with the system.

I want it, but I'm not paying $15 for it, especially since I didn't get in on any of the deals on the points. I'll buy it when it finally goes on sale.

Well this is wacky if it's even remotely close to being true...

We’ll start with the obligatory caveat: VGChartz is a controversial website. Any sales numbers taken from the site should, for a variety of reasons, be taken with a grain of salt. The numbers presented below should be viewed as estimates rather than hard data.
That being said, VGChartz’ weekly global sales figures for the week ending Dec. 21st place Nintendo’s Wii U one spot ahead of Microsoft’s Xbox One. The Wii U sold 319,860 units globally according to VGChartz, while the Xbox One sold just 307,366.
Notably, the Xbox One is still not for sale in Japan. But Microsoft has never mounted much of a threat in that region. (According to the below chart, the PSP sold nearly 9,000 units in Japan, while the Xbox 360 sold a paltry 688, lower than any other system currently for sale in the region. There is little reason to believe the Xbox One will change this.)

Couple of U features I like that I haven't seen mentioned in this thread (maybe they were, and I just missed it)
- You can stream video files (.mp4 only) from your PC through the U
instructions how:
- Also, old Wii games look phenomenal on the U. They go beyond just upscaling. I still have my Wii hooked up (through component), and I did some back-to-back with that and the U of the same games, and the difference was remarkable.
