Well the PS4 has the easy advantage right now, but I imagine the Xbox One will win the Tuesday, November 5th at 11:45 A.M. EST edition with ease, as well as the 11/15 all day thread.

I only recently added one for the first time since the days of, without naming names, the "I just don't have time for gaming, I'm in med school" broken record poster(who is still reciting the same mantra on a different site for this launch).

There's no love in console warz, only lists!
I seriously hope you guys enjoy your Oneses and that everything more or less works at launch. And I seriously hope there's some silent mass of dudebros who join you, because I need for Sony to have somebody to compete with.

Angry Birds Star Wars is a PS4 & Xbox One Launch Title: Has TouchPad Support, Costs $49.99
http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/...t-costs-49-99/
Finally confirming months of rumors, Activision has revealed that Angry Birds Star Wars will be releasing for the PS4 and Xbox One on their respective launch dates. The final price comes in at $49.99, with no mention made of a possible upgrade program for the game.
The PS4 version will include all the features seen on PS3/PS Vita (20 exclusive levels, over 200 stages from the mobile release, HD visuals, trophies, leaderboards), along with PlayStation Move and DualShock 4 TouchPad support. Specifically for the TouchPad, you can expect precise “touch-screen handling.” Unfortunately, the PS4 version of Angry Birds Star Wars won’t include the timed challenges that are offered on Xbox One.
Jami Laes, Executive Vice President of Games at Rovio Entertainment, had this to say of Angry Birds Star Wars:
Angry Birds Star Wars brings together fans from multiple generations and across two widely loved fictional worlds. The success of Angry Birds Star Wars is a testament to the versatility of these iconic franchises. As a company we want to be where-ever the fans are, so we are thrilled to be partnering with Activision to bring this one-of-a-kind experience to console and handheld gaming fans.
If you’d rather not wait until the next-gen versions, the PS3 and PS Vita versions are out now for $39.99, with the game also available for Wii U, Xbox 360, Wii and 3DS.

$50?!? For Angry Birds?! What the shit!?
by the way, XO at launch, PS4 around March. That's my plan. Both within 12 months, but not "this year."

If they don't start charging a buck or two for these types of games, this digital/indie game "revolution" is going to die a glorious and painful death.

Yeah but this is Angry Birds from Rovio. The company's last valuation was like $8 billion.
I don't get the appeal of playing Angry Birds on anything other than a phone or PC, but right on.

Anyone who spends $40 or $50 to play Angry Birds on a console should have their thumbs broken.

Re: What consoles are you buying this year? Monday Edition!
I just noticed the post-Titanfall announcement poll. That is hilarious! Anybody who was going to be swayed by Titanfall exclusivity was already swayed, as I think most people thought the original deal was for a year. But the game looks like a ton of fun, and I'm glad to see the X1 get some positive news.
My instinct is that all of these games popping up at 720p on X1 (including Titanfall allegedly) is a bigger long-term issue. The reality is that most people can't really see the difference anyway, but word gets out, and perception becomes reality. You already see all of the "Xbox 180" jokes turning into "Xbox 720p" jokes, and that's a tough perception to fight, especially when your console is $100 more expensive.
I'm listening to CAG Cast right now, and Cheapie D is convinced that "720p" is a short-term problem and that developers will sort it out over time like they did with the PS3. The problem with that theory is that the PS3 was more powerful than the 360 in some ways, but that isn't the case with the X1 and PS4. The reality is that the X1 has a much weaker GPU, and it's slowed down further by DDR3 RAM and a pool of ESRAM that's too small. 720p is a long-term thing.
I don't mean any of that to be provocative by the way. Paging flashburn to tell me what I'm missing.

I've always had a bad feeling about that Esram... anytime a system adds complexity to it's design, it usually causes issues instead of being something that gives something better. (i.e. performance)

Re: What consoles are you buying this year? Monday Edition!
I even proof read. Edited.
You aren't wrong, but they had to do it because they used DDR3. Devs will probably get better at using the esRAM over time, but games will probably demand more and more memory and bandwidth at about the same rate.
If the X1 were cheaper than PS4, it might be acceptable, but at $100 more, it's a legitimate problem.

1080p is no the problem. Is there any X1 game that has been announced to have 1080p?
Today you can have 1080p in a PC with a $100 video card. You'll have 30 FPS, or lower, of course.
So yeah, I do expect them to reach 1080p and 60 FPS in some games.

720p vs 1080p is not a problem. The games look great on both systems. Go back and look at some launch PS3/360 games and compare them to GTA V...both new consoles will be just fine and can both do 1080p 60fps

Yeah, GTA V looks so great in my PS3. I'm sure they are using all the available power of the old consoles.

But I'm not all "Henny Penny" about it, and the sky isn't falling for X1, but it is a legitimate hardware limitation.
Please point me in the direction of this "nerd rage". Did somebody freak out, and I missed it?
