re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I have had an Xbox One since Christmas and I still don't know how to work this dang thing! I should have stuck with my trusty 360. lol. It also doesn't help the fact my Daughter got a Wii U for Christmas and it's been on non stop. I haven't had much time alone at all with my Xbox One.

Can someone please help this big dummy out? Say I buy a couple of games from Xbox Live. I play one game for awhile and now I want to play another game I downloaded. How to I exit the game I'm in and start playing the other game?

A lot of the Wii U games can be played on the controller screen, meaning the TV doesn't have to be monopolized.

Just start the other game, the first will shut down automagically.

Hit the Xbox button to go home.

Then; if you want; you can press the (old start) menu button while the game is highlighted and select quit.

That's the thing, I don't know how to shut one game off to start a new one.

Edit: When I hit the Xbox button to go home, the only options I have are to shut the console off or sign out of Xbox Live.

Are you hitting the xbox button or holding it down? Hit = Home, Hold Down = Shutdown menu.

Yeah, it's not much different from the 360. On the 360 tapping the big ol' X brought up a menu to do stuff, whereas on the One it takes you back to the home screen, while holding it down brings up the shutdown menu.

Finally got around to playing and finishing Super Time Force... somewhat amusing and fun thanks to the game mechanics, but I think as I mentioned before I'm getting a little bored of the whole 8/16-bit retro feel that most of these indie/arcade games have.

Just played a few minutes of Life is Strange, and was absolutely blown away by the music in the game.

I need to finish up Super Time Force one of these days. I think I beat half the levels when it came out. I just got the 1000/1000 in #IDARB...super easy. I wish I had motivation to actually play the game...or friends to play it with

I've only played a couple of rounds so far, but I can't get over how much I love #IDARB.

You're such a hipster.

I started playing it because of the free trial. The graphics are pretty terrible (pop-in galore!), the controls are a bit wonky, and the dialogue is a little too "cheesy high school," not to mention much more vulgar than I expected for the setting. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the hell out of it. I bought Episode 1 and finished it. I'm definitely in for the rest (5 total), but I think I'll wait for the season pass to go down in price.

Either the trial will hook you, or it won't. I recommend giving it a shot, though.

And, for what it's worth:
Spoiler:
I know they're setting it up so Max maybe doesn't hate Victoria so much by the end, but... fuck that. I will not let Max do anything nice for that chick.

I was curious about that game and had been thinking about starting a thread for it. I'll check out the trial...

Oh it's totally high school drama, but it's capturing it really well I think. Reading through Max's journal is great. I guess I just love games of this type. Heavy Rain, Indigo Prophecy, etc - it's my bag. $20 for the season was well spent for me. What is the single episode price? I didn't even see that option, given I bought it without a trial.

And PS: Schools are vulgar as balls these days. And it made me realize I should play Gone Home soon.

Oh, I totally agree on the above. It's just surprising to see that part of it represented so well. I think the voice acting is above-par as well, and not just for this type of game.

Weird. When I looked up the title, my only options were Episode 1 ($5) or "Try for FREE" (which is about 1/3 of episode 1). Afterwards, I could only see eps 2-5 as a season pass ($17 or $18... I can't remember which). That's up here in Canadia, so I'm sure it's a few dollars more than the US.

Definitely. It was the same way when I was in high school too, and that was only... 13+ years ago (fuuuuck). I wasn't put-off by the vulgarity. Just surprised. It totally works.

And it made me realize I should play Gone Home soon.
Same! That's one I've been meaning to check out for quite awhile now.

Honestly, the more I think about Life is Strange, the more I like it and want to replay it. It's up there with the better Telltale games, IMO.

That is the Xbox store, so you are buying the digital version - download...

Just like on the 360 when you bought things from the Xbox store, no codes or disc, obviously.

This is the "MS" store: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/home

Has anyone tried replacing an external HD with a bigger one?
I have a 1TB external that is almost full and want to replace it with a 2tb instead.
I don't see much info on copying data from one external to another.
