I think that email was just a form letter...as another poster mentioned, amazon sells food, so I'm sure that's why they mention food stamps. Other than the food stamps reference, the rest of the email was entirely boilerplate.

Yea, exactly....who's website? I don't see it on the Amazon website, and the Disney website link has been no mystery:

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

It seems their CSRs have gotten wise to the Monsters, Inc. coupon, and have formulated a new response:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us about applying the $8 promotion offered by Disney to your order #104-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxx.

I'm sorry to inform you that currently it's not possible to apply the $8.00 promotion coupons issued by Disney.

We accept the promotion coupons that are issued by Amazon.com retail store. In this case you may contact the Disney for more information about the coupon.

For your convenience I’ve also included the contact information of Disney:

Telephone: Main Operator - (818) 560-1000

Email: Contact Us - http://home.disney.go.com/guestservices/contact

I do apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause. . Please be assured that we value your business and hope that you will honor us with the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

To contact us about an unrelated issue, please visit the Help section of our web site.

And this has WHAT to do with the Up & Monsters Inc Deal?

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I sent in an "email" similar to Brent L's this morning asking for the $8 adjustment on Monster's Inc. and this afternoon they replied and gave me the adjustment as an "exception" even though they "are not a participating dealer for this particular promotion." Thanks to all those who helped in the wording of the "email" I sent, especially Brent L.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I wasn't going to try for the $8 promo, I figured my price was awesome already. But since so many people had already gotten it with relatively no issue, I figured I'd try. Well they definetly gave it to me.

New total = $6.49 shipped.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Mine shipped today.

I paid $32.

That's a price that I can live with. No need for me to play their system above and beyond their original promotion(s).

I'm not slamming those of you who did (), I just hope that the promotions continue ().

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I just got an email from Amazon saying I could not use the snowwhitethanks discount because it was only offered to people who purchased the DVD of Snow White and not the BluRay...

Uh... I'm not even going to bother explaining that one to the rep. I got a great deal with the 2 $10 coupons.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Earlier today on the amazon home page where they have advertisements they had the 8 dollar off monsters inc listed, currently there now it shows the dvd set for the shield. at another point it had an advertisement of the road comming to theatres. i havent seen it since earlier today but for a short time atleast they did have an advertisement for the 8.00 off monsters inc that said click here on the amazon home page.

and obviously i meant "they need to check out their website" i was typing the post on my phone at the time, which has predictive text and sometimes as iam sure you know when your typing on a touch screen phone things might not always come out the way they are intended to. (for example accidentally haveing a post say right instead of write, or there instead of their)

If you enter promo code OBAMA2012, you'll get all Blu-ray movies for free if you simply agree to pay Amazon back at some undefined point in the future.

Up DVD in Blu-ray set

Can someone confirm that the DVD in the Up Blu-ray set is the same enhanced version with extra material that you get with the 2 disc DVD set? And that the digital copy is on DVD? I don't have a Blu-ray player at the moment but given the pricing it doesn't pay to buy the 2 disc DVD set when the Blu-ray set is the same price (and has better deals for extra stuff).

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I canceled my Amazon order when they wouldn't take the $8.00 Monsters Inc coupon. Mine was sitting at $32.98, but was showing an estimated delivery of November 23-Dec 1. A full two weeks after the release date? No, thanks.

You probably could've done better than that with the $10 off Monsters Inc coupon and the $10 off Up coupon that's coming out Tuesday. Another $8 off if you went to Target.

This is the only time I've fired off tons of emails for something like this. I'm not a SD or FW enough of a person to spend half my life doing it, trying to shave off an extra quarter or two off of something I don't need in the first place.

You have some confirmation of that?

To date, Disney has always made their coupons available ahead of time. This would be the first time the coupon comes out the day of the release.

Yes, on Disney Blu-ray sets, the DVD copy included is usually identical to the first disc of the equivalent DVD set. And yes, the Digital Copy usually comes on a DVD-ROM disc.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Well, I emailed them about both the snowwhitethanks and Monster's, Inc. $8 coupon and they gave me the former but not the latter. I feel bad emailing them again about the $8 discount because $23 is already extremely cheap and they were really nice and understanding. However, I might ask them about the BD Disney coupon to bring my order down to $12.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I placed Up!, Monsters Inc., and Snow White on BD in my cart, and then emailed Amazon about the snowwhitethanks coupon. Here was their response:
Hello,

Thank you for contacting us regarding the Snow White "Thank You" offer. This was a very limited offer and unfortunately your order didn't meet all of the qualifications for receiving this promotional offer. Specifically, this offer was only valid for customers who purchased the DVD version of Snow White. It was not offered to customers who ordered the Blu-Ray version.

I'm sorry this information was not clear when you placed the order. To compensate for this inconvenience, I've reduced the total order cost by $10.00. The new total order cost is $37.94.

I hope this helps. We hope to see you again soon.
So $37 for all three BD's with standard shipping. Thank You Amazon. You'll have my business on Black Friday this year!

I just checked my junk e-mail and got an e-mail from Killjoy(aka cinemaphile). He's currently locked out and wanted me to relay the following message-

Hey there, I need your help! I posted on the forum under a new account "Killjoy", completely trying to be humorous after all the crazy deals going around. Unfortunately, apparently my tone did not carry over in text. I immediately, upon seeing it was not being understood as humor, tried to go back and post under my normal account, cinemaphile, to explain this massive misunderstanding, only to find my account has been locked out! (the post following mine did the exact same thing, but he managed to add a "p.s." to explain himself - mine was locked before I got the chance). So it just keeps growing and growing, with people getting more and more pissed at me, when I fully intended to explain how I meant it. Hell, my "location" is listed as cinemaphile! It has my REAL screenname right there for people to see, I wasnt hiding! PLEASE pass this on to the forum, as I cannot get through at the moment. I am truly sorry for this misunderstanding - as you can see from my profile, I am a regular contributor and deal-finder in the forums. (and no, of course I did not actual contact anyone at Amazon)

I, for one, believe him. Maybe next time he will use a smiley after one of these kind of posts.

BTW, if I may speak for the moderators, the reason that you're currently locked out isn't for stating that you informed Amazon about the alleged abuse. It's for creating multiple accounts(that's a no-no). Hopefully you'll be back up and posting soon.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I guess the best deal other than Amazon is Fry's. Fry's have both for $33.72 total so you can use the $10 UP coupon along with the $8 Monster's, Inc coupon for a grand total for $15.72 without the hassle of convincing CS. Since my order won't ship until around November 16, I might try the Fry's route and cancel my Amazon order.
