haha no offers of giving me any discount or applying the promo code simply (in my mind) begging me to reinstate my order. amazon can shove off on this particular order
Maybe try it. Maybe if you reinstate it, they'll be more willing to provide a discount or whathaveyou. I have never in my life heard of Amazon following up on a canceled order, so they may be willing to do exactly what you want to keep your business.

I said that if I got my shipping refunded, I was done. Weeeell, they refunded the shipping, but this is just too much fun. I just sent e-mails to 2 departments for the $8 off Monsters, Inc. upgrade.

In for a dime.......

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I guess I wasn't done. I tried again and was successful with all coupons including the 8.00 coupon.

My order currently sits at 4.98 for Up & Monsters Inc. Damn fine deal.

Reminds me of the golden days of DVD Deals.

Like 3 DVD's for a buck at 800.com or free stuff from whatshotnow.com

Thank you Amazon.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I just read this on Slickdeals and thought I'd mention it because maybe others didn't know about this just as I didn't. Everyone requesting billions of price adjustments might want to read this before doing any more "frivilous" ones. After reading some of these, I know I'm not going to ask for any more (I'll only contact them again if they mess it up from its current price). Some of these mention that excessive coupon requests, cancellations, contact with customer service, or going below a certain minimum profit on some number of orders can result in permanent blacklisting from Amazon (and from those posts it sounds like it's pretty rare to successfully appeal the blacklisting). I thought blacklisting was just a Staples.com thing.

Here's the link (hopefully it survives the posting):

wow I do have to agree that email is rather rude. I would say yes complain if for no other reason than to voice your disatisfaction at the rude and condesending tone of the letter.
I disagree completely. Remember that Amazon.com sells Groceries as well as everything else. So, it's really not all that strange to thing that they would mention it as part of a "canned" response.

Thanks for writing to us at Amazon.com.

I have checked into the promotional offer on the manufacturer's website. While Amazon.com is an authorized dealer of "UP" and "Monsters, Inc." we are not a participating dealer for this particular promotion.

I do apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause. If you have any further questions about this offer, you may wish to contact the Disney directly. You should be able to find contact information on their website.

Again, I am sorry that we are unable to honor this promotion. Please be assured that we value your business and hope that you will honor uswith the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

Please let us know if this e-mail resolved your question:
I got that response, then I emailed a different department who said this:

Restrictions for promotional offers vary, so I recommend reading the "fine print" details.

I apologize this information was not clear while placing the order. Because of your business important to you, I've made an exception to our standard policy and reduced $8.00 for the item "Monsters".

With the $10 coupon for UP finally confirmed, I might cancel my Amazon order to get away from the hassle of convincing CS to apply the millions of coupons and use Disney's coupons instead.

While I'm not going to cancel my order since part of it already shipped, I wish Amazon would somehow change their system to accept these disney coupons.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Score on the $8 MI upgrade coupon after emailing twice about it (promo dept said no, but returns and refunds said yes). So my order total (including Family Guy Vol. 7) is -$3.03

Items Ordered Price
1 of: Family Guy, Vol. 7 [DVD] By: Seth MacFarlane, et al $12.99
1 of: Monsters, Inc. [Blu-ray] By: Billy Crystal, et al $11.99
1 of: Up [Blu-ray] By: Edward Asner, et al $11.99

Item(s) Subtotal: $36.97
Shipping & Handling: $4.96
Best Value Savings: -$10.00
Promotion Applied: -$5.00
Super Saver Discount: -$4.96
-----
Total Before Tax: $21.97
Estimated Tax: $0.00
Gift Certificate/Card Amount: $25.00
-----
Grand Total: $-3.03

I actually called them about my "magical" gift cert. and $5 promo that was applied because I had no clue where they came from. Apparently the $5 promo was from an order made back in September where you get a $5 mp3 credit to use in October. Now I made an order on Halloween where this was applied, but I cancelled the order due to the item being out of stock for a long time. So, they reinstated my $5 mp3 credit on my account even though it had expired and for some reason applied it to this non mp3 order.
The $25 gift cert. apparently was from a deal back in September too, where if you downloaded Big Kahuna Reef (a game that was free for a short while) you would get another $5 mp3 credit to use in October. Now I had big trouble downloading this game and gave up after 4 tries (something was messed up on my end when using their downloading software). I then emailed them about my problems and then they issued e a $5 mp3 credit, which I completely forgot about and never used in October. So, for some reason I actually got a $5 mp3 credit for each of the 4 unsuccessful attempts to download BKR that stayed on my account together with the unused $5 credit they had issued me.
Now why they automatically applied $30 mp3 credit to my order of DVDs and blu ray I don't know, but I'm not complaining
So, I'm more than happy with the total and don't see the need to try and push for the $10 Up coupon or anything else that might pop up.

Just a note to people emailing several times to different depts about coupons etc. If you email them within 5 mins of each other then you will likely only get 1 response. Space them out if you want more than 1.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Yesterday I get a refund from Amazon.com on my order for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra & The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 Blu-rays. Reason for refund: Shipping address is undeliverable, WTF. This year alone I have made 137 orders with Amazon.com and all of them were shipped to the same address without any problems. Heck just 3 days ago I recevied a 1terabyte HD and the day after that I received a Video Card. Not counting the more than 800 or more orders I placed with Amazon.com. When I check the Amazon.com tracking it shows it is still on the way and delivery date is 11/09/09.

They've done one better and started offering their own coupons to match the Disney ones. Like with Snow White. Once a lot of people canceled their orders to use the Disney $10 off at the store, Amazon started offering $10 off with the Snow White coupon.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I just cancelled my amazon order for the two. After emailing and calling a couple of times, I have not been able to get them to match the $8 Monsters coupon. Now that we know there will be an Up coupon as well, it doesn't make sense to pay more at amazon than I will at Best Buy.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

My order total is now $13.98 shipped. Crazy. Not as crazy as $0.46, but still crazy. This will definitely help make the cost of importing the "Monsters, Inc." SteelBook more tolerable, after I re-sell one of the BDs.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Honestly, I don't know. I just emailed and asked nicely, and they let me have every one of the promos I asked about ($10 off for ordering both, $10 DISNEYBD code, $8 Monsters, Inc. coupon, $1 Gold Box discount) except for the Snowwhitethanks deal on my first try asking. It really seems like a YMMV situation. But I'd much rather go this way than try to get some idiot CSR at Best Buy or Target to accept all of the printable coupons at once. This has been very stress-free. Amazon's Customer Service Reps are the best around, bar none, in my opinion.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

well if they try to say now the 8.00 coupon is not accepted they need to check out there website cause there was a monsters inc upgrade advertisement with a link linking the 8.00 off coupon on disney movie rewards on amazons home page (in the advertisement section, it seems to now show the sheild complete series and a slr camera instead) If i see it on there again i will copy and paste to show.
the member above should write an email back specificly to that witch who told him that they dont accept coupons or foodstamps(still cant figure that one out).

Iam still not re ordering mine though because they have soured me on buying this from them especially now that disney has confirmed there will be a 10.00 up coupon on tuesday.

What do you mean "out there"? out where?
If you mean their web site, still again whose web site.
If amazon I don't see a link there to the $8.00 coupon.

Also notice that the quote is above the reply.
