Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)
I guess the best deal other than Amazon is Fry's. Fry's have both for $33.72 each so you can use the $10 UP coupon along with the $8 Monster's, Inc coupon for a grand total for $15.72 without the hassle of convincing CS. Since my order won't ship until around November 16, I might try the Fry's route and cancel my Amazon order.
cause if its 33.72 each thats 67.44-10-8=49.44

Hey, MP - now that the $10 Up coupon is confirmed, can you update the first post to reflect the additional savings? If my math is semi-correct (a slim possibility), the new savings should drop the Target price for both (without any price matching) down to ... $25.99?? I'd be perfectly happy with that, if that's indeed the case.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)
I just checked my junk e-mail and got an e-mail from Killjoy(aka cinemaphile). He's currently locked out and wanted me to relay the following message-
Hey there, I need your help! I posted on the forum under a new account "Killjoy", completely trying to be humorous after all the crazy deals going around. Unfortunately, apparently my tone did not carry over in text. I immediately, upon seeing it was not being understood as humor, tried to go back and post under my normal account, cinemaphile, to explain this massive misunderstanding, only to find my account has been locked out! (the post following mine did the exact same thing, but he managed to add a "p.s." to explain himself - mine was locked before I got the chance). So it just keeps growing and growing, with people getting more and more pissed at me, when I fully intended to explain how I meant it. Hell, my "location" is listed as cinemaphile! It has my REAL screenname right there for people to see, I wasnt hiding! PLEASE pass this on to the forum, as I cannot get through at the moment. I am truly sorry for this misunderstanding - as you can see from my profile, I am a regular contributor and deal-finder in the forums. (and no, of course I did not actual contact anyone at Amazon)
I, for one, believe him. Maybe next time he will use a smiley after one of these kind of posts.
BTW, if I may speak for the moderators, the reason that you're currently locked out isn't for stating that you informed Amazon about the alleged abuse. It's for creating multiple accounts(that's a no-no). Hopefully you'll be back up and posting soon.

Well with this $10 off coupon in the works. I think I'll just use that single coupon and just get Up alone (which is all I wanted anyway) at Wally World for $10.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)
Three emails so far and three denials. The third denial however provided me another reason to try as the CSR referred me to a different $8 off coupon offered from Disney (which is really the one that was mentioned in the first post of the $8 Off Monsters Inc BD Coupon thread).
"Thank you for writing to us about your recent order #xxxxxxxx.
I've checked your order and see that a $10 promotion has already been applied for this order. As stated in your email, that Disney is offering $8.00 off if you upgrade to the blu-ray of the movie, Amazon.com does not accepts these manufacturer's coupons.
However, you can also be eligible for another $8.00 discount coupon that is being offered by Disney Studio. For more information on how to obtain this code, please use the following link to contact them at:
http://www.disneystudioshelp.com/Contact_Us.html
I hope this information is helpful.
It is our absolute commitment to provide you the best possible customer service. Should you need any further assistance with this order, please click the link below to tell us when and where to get in touch with you, and a dedicated customer service representative will contact you by phone to provide resolution."
So I have [politely] written one last time to explain that the coupon she referred me to is a printable coupon for use in brick and mortars and that if they couldn't honor the new coupon that they referred me to that I would have to cancel my Amazon order so that I could use the coupon.
If I get one more denial, I'm done. I usually get Amazon to honor these types of requests so I am not too bummed out. I can accept $32.98 for two Pixar BDs.

I got the same email except without the nice offer for $10. Grrrrr. Maybe I should pursue it and tell the dunce the BluRay and DVD versions were identical.

This is the email I received from Amazon,
Dear Amazon.com Customer,
As someone who has purchased "Up" on Blu-ray, you might like to know that for a limited time, you can save an extra $10 on select Disney Blu-ray titles.
To claim your $10 savings, add one of these items to your cart and enter promotional code XXX-XXXX-XXXXXX at checkout. The discount will be reflected on the final order checkout page. This code is valid for only one item and can be used only once. Offer ends on November 30, 2009.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)
i have good but bad news. before bed last night i went ahead and emailed one more time to ask for the DISNEYBD coupon. i just checked my order and they adjusted the price of up down to 9.99, but then that took me below the free shipping threshold so they charged me $3.97 in shipping charges. is there any way to add something to the order to get it up to the $25 free shipping? so as things stand right now, my order total is $18.96, which is as good as it will probably get unless i can get the shipping charges taken off somehow.

Greetings -
I had written earlier about the DISNEYBD coupon promotion which was applied to my order. It seems that the coupon caused the shipping charges to be reapplied. Can you please credit the shipping charges, as the total before the promotion had qualified for free shipping?
Thank you!

I don't get why some people get all of these discounts and others just get shot down consistently.
I tried all of the angles multiple times to different departments and got nothing. It will simply be easier for me to go to Best Buy and use the Disney coupons.

I kept emailing the refunds department. Every time i'd shoot them a letter, i'd get a fast response. All of the others that I tried, I mostly got shot down or was told that I was going to have to wait for a five day response.

That Up coupon is in no way whatsoever confirmed. In fact it flies in the face of all common sense and reasoning that there will be an Up coupon, regardless of what some low-level Disney CSR happened to claim in an email.

See post 163 in this thread.
Really? That email looked pretty darn legit to me, especially considering all the contact info provided, etc. I, for one, will not be a happy camper if that somehow turns out to be fake. Can you explain why you think it "flies in the face of all common sense and reasoning," considering they've been pretty good about issuing $10 off coupons on new releases? (I'm not doubting you, as I'm certainly no expert, but I'd appreciate hearing the reasoning behind your questioning of it).
ETA: The link looks legit, too, as it takes you to: http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/an...p/couponoffer/.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)
I never said that the email was fake, just that I question whether its contents are accurate. Every Disney coupon we've gotten so far has been issued well before the release of the film. Why would we get every other coupon early (including one for Monsters Inc, which is released on the same day), but not get Up until the street date? It makes no sense whatsoever. And that webpage means nothing, it's totally blank.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)
Fair enough. Like I said, I'm hardly an expert on the matter, and I trust you all here to keep the rest of us in the loop and aware of what's legit and what's not. (And I didn't mean that the email itself was fake - I was referencing the contents as well. My apologies for not being clear on that!) And yes, I agree, these are usually released in advance, but I'm still hopeful about the Up coupon, even if it doesn't go live until Tuesday - which would comport with the page being blank right now. Can I hope you're wrong just this once?

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)
I have emailed twice about the $8 manufacturer's coupon. In the second email, they said something like, "As we already told you...[we won't honor the coupon]"
The fact that they are referring to previous emails makes me hesitate to email too many more times, as then it becomes harassing and/or extra annoying on my part. So, I'm still around $15 for the two blus, and will probably ride that out.
Both Blu's are showing up as $12.99 after subtracting $10 promo codes on each (BDDisney and SWT), so I could go after the price-drops if I thought it was wise. Thoughts?

I was able to get an (American) CSR to lower the price of Up from $12.99 to $9.99 on the phone without any problems.
