Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

I did the same deal as most people here did at TRU. The (old) lady at games section tried to deny the coupons for PATF. She said they don't accept "copies" of coupons and that she tried scanning those same coupons yesterday for three different transactions and they came up as $8 off instead of $10 so those must be fraudulent coupons.

I told her that you print them yourself directly from Disney's website and that you can verify the coupon. She told me to verify them myself! LOL She then used the walkie to say to the manager "we aren't accepting those $10 coupons, right?"

I asked to see the manager. Manager came, she explained how the coupons are COPIES and FRAUDULENT. Manager went to speak with another manager. Came back and we went to the CS counter where she rung me up and scanned BOTH $5 & $10 coupons (I asked if she could try and scan them both to see if they take). Worked w/ no problems. Left with PATF combo pack for $1.99 plus taxes.

When we all go to pick up these TS combo packs, I'm wondering if we'll have problems using both $5 & $10 coupons...or do you think we'll have to have four items in the transaction so it works to be 1 item per coupon?

You can't use both (in this case anyway). $16.99 minus the $10 off coupon minus the $5 off for the preorder would be $1.99 each. You could try to use the $5 coupon which would make the movies free, but ToysRUs would be crazy to accept that. Don't push your luck.

Totally forgot that the $1.99 plus tax that I paid today INCLUDES $10 towards the TS combo packs.

Exactly. Hand over the 2 $10 coupons, pony up the $4 and get the hell out of there.

I'm wondering if you try to use the $5 and $10 coupons, if they'll work if you're buying another item as well, and then that further discount will be taken off the rest of the items.

Does ToysRUs price-match?

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

I haven't been inside a TRU in years. I'm going to preorder on Monday both TS & I called & the $15 credit towards a dvd/blu ray will still apply. Question is: How high are your average catalog dvd/blu rays at TRU? Is it still going to run a bunch to buy something even with $15 off? I don't think there's a Disney title that I want that I don't already have. Having just gone blu ray there are some blus that I still have on dvd like Snow White, Monster's Inc, Bug's Life but how high do they mark those up?

When I was there the yesterday, Snow White was 29.99 and Monster's Inc. was 34.99... Didn't notice the price of Bug's Life. However, I bought Pinocchio (listed at 29.99) with the pre-order of TS1 and 2, I got $20 off on my reciept (15+5 Disney Promo, I didn't have to say anything, it just rung up that way), and was out the door paying $20 and change for Pinnochio and the 2 $5 pre-order deposits, and owing $3.98 plus tax (with 2 $10 coupons) on Tuesday. So basically, all 3 for about $25.

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

Thanks, I own Snow White, Monsters, Inc. & Pinocchio (all on dvd having just gone blu around Thanksgiving). I'm not sure whether to get one of those (even with the $15 off it's still a lot for movies I own on special edition dvd). I wonder if I might just buy something & hold it to exchange (sealed) in the future for another blu or possibly Great Mouse Detective in April on dvd since it isn't being released on blu. I guess I'll just have to make a decision when I see their selection & prices. The TS 1&2 price is tremendous even without the $15 credit when you use the 2 $10 coupons.

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

I pre-ordered Toy Story and Toy Story 2 today and used the $15 off on Cars. I looked for A Bug's Life, but couldn't find it and didn't really have time to hunt it down.

+$5 Pre-order Toy Story BD
+$5 Pre-order Toy Story 2 BD
+$24.99 Cars BD
-$15 for pre-ordering TS and TS2
-$5 for pre-ordering TS and TS2
-$8 Cars Upgrade coupon
---------------------------------
$6.99 + tax

If you pre-order either Toy Story or Toy Story 2, you get $5 off any Disney title, but the system gives you the $5 even if you pre-order both AND gives you the $15 off for pre-ordering both.

On Tuesday, when I pick them up, it'll be:

+$11.99 Toy Story (factoring in $5 pre-order deposit)
+$11.99 Toy Story 2 (factoring in $5 pre-order deposit)
-$10 Toy Story coupon
-$10 Toy Story 2 coupon
------------------------------------------------------
$3.98 + tax

Grand total: $10.97 + tax for 3 Disney Blu-rays!

Amazing. I got the $1.99 PatF deal yesterday too. Back on Tuesday for $3.98 for the Toy Story movies.

It's actually ringing as a $20 credit (unless they fix it before you get there), so a 29.99 movie rings up at 9.99. Then if you wanted to, you could probably sell your special edition DVD on amazon or ebay to make it even cheaper.

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

I won't be pre ordering until tomorrow but in looking at the TRU ad online it shows the dvd+blu ray combo pack. Does anyone know if they will also be offering the blu ray+dvd combo pack. I know I'm being incredibly anal but now that I've finally gone blu I like to get my releases in blu ray packaging & Toy Story 1&2 will be availble in both dvd & blu ray case packaging. I would prefer the blu if TRU will have it. Anybody know if they will since the ad shows dvd packaging?

Current Coupons Linked Below

Here are DVDTalk threads about the Toy Story $5 coupons, $10 coupons, and $8 coupons. Also pre-order both Toy Story combo packs at Toys-R-Us in-store before Tuesday and get $20 (supposed to be $15, but glitching to $20) off any other Disney title, and TRU will be the best place to buy them anyway.

maybe i just haven't been keeping up, but i don't see how you can say that you are only paying $3.98 for TS1/2 when you still have to pay the $10 deposit. with that isn't the final price when it's all said and done still going to be $13.98 for both?

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

Just got back from TRU, pre-ordered TS 1 and 2 and picked up the Cars BD, priced at $24.99. Final price today was $14.99 ($24.99+$5+$5-$15-$5), and on Tuesday I expect to be paying $3.98 to pick up the TS's ($11.99+$11.99-$10-$10), so it will end up being under $20 for Cars, TS, TS2 on BD and two TS3 movie tickets on top of that!

Was that the first release blu ray of Cars or the combo pack with the 2 die cast cars?

I made my $10 deposit when buying "The Princess and the Frog" 3-disc BD. Using the $10 PATF coupon, the $5 PATF coupon, the $15 discount you get from TRU for pre-ordering both "Toy Story" films, and another $5 discount that TRU gives you for some reason when completing this transaction, it came out to $1.99 plus tax for me. I counted that $1.99 as the price I paid for PATF, making the "Toy Story" $10 pre-order fee, free.

$26.99 (PATF) + $5.00 (TS1) + $5.00 (TS2) = $36.99

$36.99 - $10 (Disney Coupon) - $5 (Disney Coupon) - $15 (Pre-order Bonus) - $5 (ToysRUs Promo) = $1.99 + tax.

I don't think TRU pricematches but does anyone know if they honor competitor's coupons? When I preorder I was thinking of getting Snow White blu & using the Target $3 web coupon.

What kory said. With PATF and the two pre-orders the total was $36. After coupons and instant discounts the final price including the pre-orders was $2.

When you pick up the pre-order card, it has barcodes for them to scan for either the Blu+DVD or the DVD+Blu, so you pick whichever packaging you like.

Where are you guys finding the toy story pre order cards? I was at TRU today and couldn't find any. They were busy so I figured I would return tomorrow sometime. Hopefully I'll be able to get in on this deal at TRU.
