Not sure how you got that figure. My math is correct. And the coupons plus my "free" $10 pre-order will make each of the "Toy Story" Blus $1.99 as well.

Where is the TRU $5 coupon at?

I've seen them in stores, and have had a cashier give me a couple, and have heard others talk about them, but I'm not sure how to officially get them.

Your right that you will only pay $1.99 per movie tomorrow, but you can't leave out the fact that you already paid $10 as a down payment. So in the end you paid:

$10 - pre-order
$3.98 - TS1/TS2 on release day
------
$13.98 -Total

No. Kory is right as I did the same thing he did(as did many others). PatF AND the $10 TS pre-order was $2 out the door. The pre-order worked out to be free after coupons.

After all is said and done the three movies will have been $6 + tax.

Very interesting first post simnuke. I'm always curious as to what prompts someone to make their first post here.

Sure, their wording was slightly confusing, but as you can now see your attempt to correct them wasn't needed.

Anyway, welcome to the forum!

The TRU deal is crazy; I got Princess and Frog combo for free today.

Ahh ok then my mistake. Yes if you pre-ordered and picked up PATF I could see how the pre-order would be free. For me I got PATF as a Bday gift and was not interested in any of the other Disney blu-rays available at my local TRU. In my case it seems pointless to pre-order because either way I would be paying about $13 for both TS1/2.

On another note. How likely is it that TRU would take both the $10 and the $5 coupons tomorrow?

Thanks! I guess I just wanted to make sure people who were not going to pick up PATF when pre-ordering were not confused about how much they would pay for both TS1/2.

You could have picked up a $20 DVD for free.

On the coupons, it's YMMV (your mileage may vary), but generally TRU is very good about accepting any and all coupons. We've been getting Disney titles there for years for virtually free.

Yea, I could have gotten a free DVD, but my hope is that I will be able to use both the $5/$10 coupons on TS1/2 and be out the door with both for $3.98

This is what I'm hoping for also. If it doesn't work, 13.98 ain't that bad.

If you've already preordered them & your remaining balance is $11.99 each minus $10 each how can they possibly apply the $5 apiece second coupons? They would have to give you back $6 of your deposit since the balance is $3.98 + tax.

That's why I decided not to pre-order. It is unlikely that you would be able to use the $5 coupons if you had pre-ordered because TRU would be crazy to pay you to take the movies home. If you didn't pre-order then you would owe $16.98 - $10 - $5 for a total of $1.98 each.

As has been mentioned by Trevor, get an extra item for around 6 dollars.

What he didn't mention is that you can return the other item later.

I thought I missed out on this in that I was not able to go to TRU on Sat. But I called and a manager said he'd PM the website for the total + shipping (32.66). I thought that was better than nothing so I went to TRU. I guess the manager was at lunch and they PM"d the website for actual cost. 1.99+ tax with the potentional of getting Toy Story 1 & 2 free.

NOTE: If they do PM, let them do the PM FIRST, then apply the coupons and preorders. Don't put anything else on the ticket until the PM is done or it will not reflect the correct price.

These deals seem to only manifest right before/during release week. I really thought I was going to pass on this for what seemed like mediocre deals (only $10 of PatF and $5 off each of Toy Story's) Leave it to TRU to give me another Disney blu-ray release for under 5 bucks and last minute coupons to take the total even further down! What are we going to do when we actually have to pay 12-15 for a Disney blu-ray?

There's the rub (to quote Shakespeare). They are not going to give you free cash with your merchandise, and you don't want to raise any red flags with a negative balance. Some have suggested adding an item or two to get your total "into the black", thus making the third and fourth coupons viable. I know they have some cheap movies, and the store near me sells soda and candy if you're just looking to add a few bucks.

How 'bout that Amazon deal where you can get both Toy Story movies for the low, low price of $40?

Well, I am going to buy the Blind Side tomorrow too & TRU has the same low price as Target so do you suppose if I used the 4 coupons they would come off of Blind Side blu ray combo pack?

What is TRU policy on returns when you have used coupons? Are they like BB and Target where you get the price you paid for the movie + the amount of the coupons back?

Wish there was a coupon for Blind Side. I might just buy it from TRU anyway when I pick up my TS1&2.....

Well I just got back from TRU and no dice on pre-ordering. They ran out of the pre-order cards and so they wouldn't let me order. I talked to a manager and she said even looking up the code wouldn't work since I needed the physical card to pick up the movie. I suggested that my receipt could serve as proof and she said it wouldn't. Oh well, I'll use both coupons tomorrow or throw a real fit.

I hope that's not true because they did not give me the card after scanning it. All I have is the receipt.

Same here. I was sick over the weekend and didn't make it out to pre-order TS 1&2 as planned, so I thought I had missed out. I ended getting Princess and the Frog for free after the $20 off for pre-ordering TS 1&2 and using the $10 and $5 coupons.

My only gripe is the cashier rang up the DVD packaging of Toy Story 1&2 whereas I prefer the BD packaging. I'll try to snag the BD version when I pick it up but who knows how that'll turn out.
