I'd also like to note I already have orders 1-7 in hand. Order 8 shipped today, and order 9 was placed today.

All my orders were shipped UPS by my decision, and since I am in the Chicago area it's pretty much next day delivery. All orders were shipped within 1-2 days so far. No errors. A couple DVD's where a bith roughed up, like The Piano which was razored down the spine about halfway. But by and large things are all in good shape, and no wrong items or missing items (so far).

I want to give credit where it's due because I have been vocally critical of DDD in the past, and they do deserve it sometimes. But they are obviously stepping up their efforts during this sale. I hope it stays like this. I've had to talk to CS a few times this week for various reasons, and I was never waiting more than a minute or two.

I'd say they'll get more of my business in the future, but since I buy my new releases locally, I can't imagine what's left that I want, except for Farscape, which seems entirely too much trouble to purchase online, between the multiple releases, DVD-18 replacement and sort of scarce availability.

I'm officially done.......for now.

Hehe thanks. I never thought I was going to be one of those guys who has this many titles, but DVD's have gotten so cheap in the past couple years, it's hard not to buy curiosity titles.

Take Dummy for instance. I remember seeing the coverart when it came out, but never gave it a second look. And I really like Adrien Brody. For 4.xx, it's a no brainer to give it a shot. Thanks to those who mentioned it these threads.

Don't email, call. I was missing about the same number of discs as you, and they sent them out the same day with expedited shipping. You will receive an email showing an account credit and then a rebill.

I wouldn't hesitate to place your next order either, as they can always fix another mistake but once the sale ends you can't change your mind.

With so may coupon codes out there (as bunkaroo has demonstrated), I really wonder why DDD enforces the one use per coupon code rule? I've seen a couple people get their orders messed up because they accidentally used the same code twice and were billed the normal prices. Obviously DDD doesn't care if we make multiple orders. I made 2. Not quite 9. Shouldn't we just be able to use the DVDTALK code 2 or 9 times so this site gets credit? Just doesn't make sense to me.

Yikes, I thought it was closer to $1500, but I guess that's what happens when you rationalize. Time to clear out the old titles in my collection I don't want anymore to subsidize these.

To help decide about ordering the new X-Files sets, I checked a few sites for reviews. At DVD-Basen there were no recent reviews mentioning the new packaging. At Amazon there were occasional customer reviews mentioning the differences. One review would say all the extra features are gone while another review would say everything is identical on the first 6 discs except for the missing 7th bonus DVD in each set. (Weren't there deleted scenes and commentaries on certain episodes of discs 1 to 6?) One review would say the ThinPack packaging is excellent while another review would say it's not actually ThinPack but some cheaper packaging where DVDs are difficult to remove. As usual, it's not possible to get the truth just by reading reviews (I know "the truth is out there")... so I have to turn to the experts on DVD Talk.

I'm pretty sure someone said the only difference besides the packaging is the loss of the bonus DVD. Could any owners of the new sets confirm this (in other words, that discs 1 through 6 in each set are 100% identical to the previous releases)? Thanks.

I don't understand how people can use the same coupon twice. Whenever I've entered one I used before, no discounts appear in the cart, so I pretty much know before checking out. I wonder if it's a bug with their system.

I saw a few episodes when it first came out, it was bad. With your $45, look at other series, consider the Jamie Kennedy Experiment (hidden camera show).

Put it this way, I can borrow the first season of The Dead Zone from my local library (for free). I haven’t. And from the poster who asked which was better, Buffy the Vampire Slayer or The Dead Zone, there have been 6 or 7 votes for Buffy and zero for The Dead Zone.

Ditto, I’m also waiting for the box set at $120 to $130 (~ $14 or $15 / season). Keep in mind that when the box set first comes out it’ll be a little expensive, we may be waiting for another year or so.

the stargate set you ordered was it the Slim or the Regular...I ordered the slim and in one of the seasons it seemed as though one of the cases was "facing backwards" ie the spine did not diplay any information just a "fold"........The plastic wrap on all my orders seemed like a "home job" so to speak but since all my other dvds seemed to come in unscathed(*sp) I am not too worrid just curious......

DVD I'm most looking forward to? Cemetery Man. I have wanted that movie for sooooo long. I first saw it back in 1996 or so, back when I still had a working descrambler. It was on HBO at the time, and I would keep catching bits and pieces of it, but never managed to see it all the way through. That would happen with a lot of movies back then (before the godsend that is Tivo). I totally fell in love with the movie, not even knowing about the "true" nature of the movie at the time. I'm really looking forward to seeing it beginning to end.

OK ty for clarifying that...just seemed weird to me never delt with DDD before nad haveing that "soft" plastic was something new to me.......Ill actually have to tear open the Stargate box to see if it was "flipped" but not untill I get home.... I received my first big order packaged just as you described, paper on top. Luckily, no real problems. One box set had a cut mark on it (from cutting open the original case of DVDs, I imagine). I've already bought a new copy at Target and returned the cut version in its place. Problem taken care of That's how I always handle the damaged packaging issues.
