Update: Went to my local Big Lots tonight - only 1 DVD in the whole store: a 4.99 "Kid Stays in the Picture" that has been there for about a year. They did have a whole bunch of new VHS tapes for $2.

I went back to the same Charlotte, NC Big Lots store again on Saturday (where I had made my initial find last Wednesday).
They had added more $2.00 titles to the rack and I picked up: The Governess, Ike: Countdown To D-Day, Mission Kashmir, New Best Friend, The Pact Of Silence, Ride Beyond Vengeance (a Chuck Connors western), and Virtual Sexuality.
There were many other $2.00 titles such as Circus, Joe and Max, The Lady and the Duke, Le Dernier Combat, The Luzhin Defence, The Sea Is Watching, etc. which I had already bought and which had been reported here previously (though some of these same titles had been previously priced at $3.00 or $4.99 at Big Lots in January or February, all DVDs in this shipment were now priced at $2.00).
I also drove on down to the Rock Hill, S.C. Big Lots store on Saturday and found pretty much the same selection of $2.00 Columbia/TriStar titles and only bought one DVD (the only title I didn't already have was Returner).
On Sunday, I went to the Matthews, NC and Monroe, NC Big Lots stores but both of these trips proved a big bust.
Neither store seemed to have added a single DVD since my previous visits early in February.
So, this new wave of Columbia/TriStar titles at Big Lots is definitely YMMV.
But, so far with the titles I've found in my area, combined with docdoowop's finds in St. Louis, there are now a dozen "New To Big Lots" titles from the last Ken Cline master list confirmed:
Baadasssss! SE
Borderline
Home Room
Ike: Countdown To D-Day (also seen at Dollar General stores in my area, for $3.00)
The Matinee Idol/Frank Capra's American Dream
Murder In Greenwich (FS)
New Best Friend
Passionada (also seen at Dollar General stores in my area, for $3.00)
Ride Beyond Vengeance
Returner
Sin
True Blue

I picked up the following today:
-Baadasssss!: Special Edition
-The Sea is Watching
-The Secret Lives of Dentists: Special Edition
-Tube
They had a ton of those Mill Creek Entertainment $6 box sets as well.
On another note, is Tube OOP now? DVDPlanet no longer carries it, and it's not in stock at Amazon either. There are plenty of used copies though, so it's not like this one will be worth much anytime soon, and more than likely ever. I just didn't know it might be OOP.

All told, I picked up six more titles for $2 each:
- Baadasssss!
- Mission Kashmir
- Passionada
- Spider
- Time and Tide
- Zhou Yu's Train
I left behind a ton of stuff that I either already own or have no interest in...although, for $2, I might as well pick up duplicates for trade fodder. Still no sign of either Tube or Monsieur Ibrahim. They had no 50 movie packs, either.

They had a slew of titles at the Brainerd Rd location in Chattanooga, TN. Picked up Homicidal, 3 Way, and Another Meltdown. Almost picked up a Jackie Chan title but I didn;t know what the quality would be like. It was the Prisoner. I'm glad i didn;t get it as the reviews are pretty bad.
Any opinions on the 3 I got?

Almost all of the titles on the master list of Sony/Columbia TriStar DVDs which Ken Cline was so good to compile earlier on this forum are OOP or will probably be OOP soon.
Some of them may still be available on various sites (such as "Dark Blue World," which is still listed on DDD), but are probably limited to the stock on hand.
As to whether any of these OOP Sony titles will ever be worth anything, who knows?
Who would ever have guessed that "Fletch" would be worth anything after it went OOP?

Here's my weekend report: I went back Saturday to the South Blvd. Big Lots store in Charlotte, NC where I had made my initial finds in this recent wave of $2.00 Sony/Columbia TriStar titles, but found nothing new at all in DVDs. I also tried the Independence Blvd. store in Matthews again but came up dry as I did last week.
I decided to try someplace different, the Mooresville, N.C. store - the one Big Lots store in a 30-mile radius which I hadn't been to since these Sony titles began appearing in January and February.
And I hit the jackpot! They had apparently just recently received their second wave. I picked up 17 movies (the 13 titles with an asterisk in front are "New To Big Lots" titles):
Another Meltdown
*Beijing Bicycle
*Big Girls Don't Cry (Special Edition)
Brother John
*Brotherhood Of Satan
*The Devil Commands (1941) (a terrific Boris Karloff mad scientist flick, wherein Karloff attempts to communicate with the dead, with disastrous results)
*Homicidal (1961, directed by William Castle)
Innocence
*The Man Without A Past
*Mifune
Monsieur Ibrahim
*The Prisoner (1990 Hong Kong action flick, also known as "Jackie Chan Is The Prisoner" - this is the 96-minute English-dubbed version of the film, which runs about 30 minutes shorter than the original Taiwanese cut - although Jackie Chan's name and face are plastered all over the DVD case, his role is actually relatively small in this ensemble cast of Hong Kong action stars, lasting about 15 minutes total - the real star of the film is Tony Leung). I had previously seen this in the Walmart $5.50 dump bin and successfully resisted it, but for $2.00, what the heck!
*Quitting
*The Red Dwarf (the 1998 French film "Le Nain Rouge," not the BBC sci-fi comedy series)
*Respiro
*3-Way (a.k.a. as "Three Way Split)
*The Vertical Ray Of The Sun
There were two copies of some of these titles and copies of many other Sony titles I had already purchased in the previous months.
This store had also gotten a few of the Mill Creek Entertainment 20-movie 4-disc sets for $6.00 each (but none of the 50-movie packs, though).
I picked up: "Burnt Rubber" (20 auto racing or juvenile delinquent hot rod flicks from 1933-1989, with a number of very obscure 1930's and 1940's auto racing titles I'd never heard of); "The Roy Rogers Collection" (20 movies); "Vampires & More" (a mixture of 1930's-1980's classic - and schlocky - vampire, werewolf, and zombie flicks, about half of which I already had, but I figured it was worth the six bucks for the ten or so movies I didn't have).
They also had "150 Cartoon Classics" and a martial arts 6-disc 20-movie set for $6.00, as well as the John Wayne 20-Movie Pack and Victory At Sea set (complete series boxed set), both of which have been available at Walmart for $5.50 for a long time. I hope that eventually the Mill Creek complete Ronald Howard 1950's Sherlock Holmes TV series set reported elsewhere will also turn up at a Big Lots in our area.
So, if you haven't been to the Big Lots stores in your area in a while, it might pay to check them out again.
But as you can see, what you may find at any given Big Lots is a crapshoot, definitely YMMV.
Some stores have received nothing (and still have a relatively barren DVD selection, with their obligatory copies of "The Kid Stays In The Picture" or "First And Ten," which have been gathering dust for months).
Others have received a second wave shipment and there are a wide variety of new and old titles in what they got, with none of the stores seeming to receive all of the titles which have been reported (for example there's still no sign of Dark Blue World, Evil That Men Do, The Horsemen, The Howards Of Virginia, Spider, Time And Tide, or Tube in my area).
As far as I'm concerned, this Big Lots $2-3 Sony/Columbia TriStar sale has been the deal of the year for me, allowing me to pick up some really great movies for next to nothing and letting me experience a wide variety of international films which I probably would never have had a chance to see otherwise, here in the backwoods of North Carolina.

Excellent writeup, Autolycus! I agree fully on the International titles. The Chinese films that I've picked up have been wonderful. Looks like I'll have to run my three store circuit again Monday or Tuesday.

I decided to swing by a store about 30 miles from me in western Illinois. I have been there several times before, and they have had nothing. Today, they had quite a few.
The ones I got or remembered are:
$2.00
Secret Ballot
Joe and Max
The Lady and the Duke
Pact of Silence
Secret Lives of Dentists
Read My Lips
Peep Show
Circus
Snake in the Eagle's Shadow
Me, You, Them
Me, Myself, I
Broken Wings
$3.00
The Gene Krupa Story
$4.00
Bela Lugosi
King of the Undead Limited Hologram Cover
Those Glory, Glory Days
$4.99
Tadpole
Bon Voyage
Pete's Meteor
Satan Never Sleeps
I was only interested in the Snake in the Eagle's Shadow and the Peep Show. They did have several of the Peep Show in stock. I have to go back that way tomorrow, so if anyone wants any of the above titles mentioned and they still have them, I would be happy to grab them and send them for cost plus your choice of shipping. There were more titles as well, but I can't remember offhand what they were, so if you are looking for something specific, I can look.

Back from another run with a good score at the Columbia Heights store. All $2.00, and all WS unless noted:
"Another Meltdown"
"Beijing Bicycle"
"Big Girls Don't Cry" SE
"Blood Crime" (FS)
"Brotherhood Of Satan"
"The Devil Commands" (FS)
"Double Vision"
"Happy Birthday To Me" ("includes special insert with orig. theatrical art")
"The Harvest" (FS)
"Homicidal" (FS)
"Ignition" SE
"I'm With Lucy"
"Innocence"
"The Man Without A Past"
"Mifune" (FS)
"Monsieur Ibrahim"
"The Prisoner" (Chan)
"Quitting"
"The Red Dwarf"
"Respiro"
"Ride Beyond Vengance" (1965, Chuck Connors, Bill Bixby)
"3-Way"
"Vertical Ray Of The Sun"
There were several of the Mill Creek 20-Move Packs at $6, including John Wayne, Kung Fu, Vampires, etc. but I passed on them.
I came up dry at the Brooklyn Center and St. Louis Park stores, but perhaps they haven't had time to set up new arrivals. Around the Twin Cities the Big Lots truck drops off on Fridays, and some stores may not rack new product until the following Tuesday or later.

Only one (Ridge Road) of the three stores I hit yesterday received (or displayed) a new shipment, and everything was in a brand new rack near the front of the store, not on the shelves in the back where they normally are (although there were still some leftovers there as well).
Nothing that hasn't been listed before, except for the Seville (Canadian) release of The Perez Family for $3, which I passed on. They did have multiple copies of A Very Long Engagement for $4.99, which I already own.
Should we consider setting up a "Big Lots" trade thread in the Exchange forum? There are a couple of titles I don't think I'll ever find locally.

Picked up 150 cartoon classics (4 disc) for $6
Here's some other stuff I saw...
Does anyone know if Mill Creek uses widescreen in their transfers, or, are they all foolscreen?

I am ashamed to admit that I would consider picking up the Essential Ernest Collection...for my brother.
I believe the two movies in the collection were released separately as full screen only. I would be surprised if it was any different for the Mill Creek release.

On the Vampires & More! set, "Count Dracula and His Vampire Bride" (original title "The Satanic Rites of Dracula") was, to my great surprise, in non-anamorphic 1:85 to 1 letterbox.
