You're right, it will be cheaper. I called over there last night to try to get the difference refunded. They said they could not do that.

Their suggestion was to cancel the order and try to place it again, but they admitted this could be risky since the coupon was one time use (and I had technically used it already on the canceled order). Anybody have any experience with this?

Seems pretty shitty they can't refund the difference for price drops on a product that hasn't even come out.

I called customer service about this. They cancelled my order and a supervisor was able to reactivate the code for my account. I got the Ford set for $84 plus tax or about $90 instead of the originial price of $104 .

argh! i was on the phone with them for probably about 25 minutes, mostly on hold while my rep. tried to get a supervisor to do that. so inconsistent! well, maybe i'll try again, but at some point it seems like my time isn't worth it.

From what I have read that is exactly what it is.

Hey Ken

Your coupon code has made it over to the Home Theater Forum.

http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...d.php?t=263610

The coupon must really be going around. The Ford at Fox set is # 26 in DVDs at B&N as of 10/19 @ 4:40 PM

All I can say is WOW. Just used the 25% coupon to pre-order Looney Tunes golden collection 5. Used 50% coupon for Sopranos season 6, pt.2. Got both on pre-order for grand total of $61. Ridiculous.

Cool, thanks for pointing that out! Does that make me a celebrity now? Glad I could finally contribute with something big.

Yeah, it's a pretty kick-ass coupon. I just hope they don't kill it. I don't recall them ever killing a coupon, even during the B1G1F and $10 off $40 deal from last January. I think we're safe.

They (likely) won't pull the coupon, but they might start getting rid of the 10-30% discount on titles, especially the popular ones, until after the sale.

Good point. I definitely don't want them to do that!

You have to have a MasterCard right? I applied for a B&N Mastercard, but I don't know if I'll get approved....

Get a low dollar mastercard giftcard. And a barnes and noble giftcard which are no fee. As long as part of it is paid with a mastercard it should work.

If they have their tv season set sale, you'll find incredible deals during that too.

Despite my link, I'm having trouble finding a way to obtain a MasterCard gift card # online immediately-- surely there has to be at least one provider out there who does this.

Thank you but unfortunately that was the first one I tried. When you create an account and then select "Get Card," you're informed that they no longer are accepting individual orders, but if I'm from a business that wants to deal in bulk, no problem. Do 500 of you want to go in with me on this?

Question, is there any kind of downside to getting a B&N Mastercard, especially If I don't plan on using it much, just for B&N purchases?

Price dropped slightly on the X-Files Collection. It went from 15% off to 20% off. It is now $105.59 + tax after the coupon (retails for $330, currently at $264). Their prices can be like the stock market. Could drop back to 15% tomorrow. They sometimes change daily. But it should stay at 20% all day today, anyway. They change overnight.

Do we know when the 50% off coupon expires? I'm considering jumping through all these hoops (getting a Mastercasrd, joining B&N, etc.) for getting "Ford at Fox", but I'm afraid that the coupon may expire by the time I get everything active.
