I've noticed over my time shopping there that generally (thought not always), B&N.com's DVD prices go up over the weekends (usually from Friday morning through Sunday morning) and then lower during the week. So you should avoid buying over the weekend, or at least check in the middle of the week to see if there's been a price drop.

It must have been a coincidence in your case. It goes by the number of sales. The hotter it gets, the cheaper it gets (I know that sounds dumb). X-Files collection was 15% off on Friday, 20% off yestesrday, and now 30% off today. It is now $92+tax after the 60% off!!! Likewise, Seinfeld is now 30% off today ($79.50 + tax!!!)
I am now signing up for TWO new B&N memberships. I just can't resist!

I seems like anything within the Top 100 current best sellers will get the 30% discout.

OK, I can no longer resist buying either Seinfeld: the Complete Series set at a ridiculous price of $90 USD pre-tax or the I Love Lucy: Complete Series set at $67 USD pre-tax....decisions, decisions.

Thanks for the amazing coupon. I spend way more than I should, but at these prices...I have no choice

Yes, that is correct. Also, sometimes new releases are at 30% off once they are released, but don't count on it as a rule. I have seen some new releases at 30% off which were not in the top 100 sales, but this does not happen all the time. I do not recommend waiting until release day and testing the theory. Once it hits 30% off, ORDER! Do not wait, cuz they will drop to 20% or 15% at some point...

Thanks for the heads-up on the 25% coupon, that expires today. Picked up Berlin Alexanderplatz for $59.85 shipped, would have been $65.60 from DVD Planet during the 20% off sale, if they coincided this year. Ford at Fox for $88.19 shipped. Wow.

It is now 79.50 pre tax, I just cancelled my earlier order and got the lower price (it's sort of a pain getting the coupon reset though)

Apparently there is no one working on a Sunday to email me my membership number. I figured online was faster than in the store, since I heard it takes a while to get the store memberships activated. Perhaps online is no better.

OK, I never really shop at B&N, but after reading that 'The X Files' Collection is so damn low, could someone be as kinds as to explain how to get it at that price? It would be much apprerciated.

And what is the final price of the set after all discounts have been taken into consideration?

Sign up for a membership at bn.com ($25)
Get your membership mumber (took me about a day)
Add X-Files to your cart
Enter membership number and 50% off code
Pay for the order with a Mastercard
Will be right around $125 for the set once you factor in the $25 it costs you for the membership

Same here. When I purchased my memberships online the membership number was automatically entered into my account, and ready to use immediately on a online purchase.

You don't have to wait a day, you can buy the membership and use the coupon in the same transaction. Just be sure to have payment set to Mastercard for it to go through.

If you buy a membership online but don't see your membership number, log out then log back into your account. Go to your account and it should be there.

I'm wonder, what are the odds us new members will get a snailmail coupon (sticker?) to use at the store???

OH OH!!! Has anyone else opened a new account and tried to use the coupon lately? I get this error:
Your order does not qualify for coupon P7N6J9K. You may remove it or replace it with another coupon.

As it's a new account, have you gone ahead and added your Mastercard as payment method yet?

Just placed an order for the Seinfeld series set ($111.82 after tax and membership fee!) with the membership and the coupon went through fine. But I put the coupon in my cart a couple days ago.

If you buy the membership at the same time you apply the code P7N6J9K, the 50% will come off the original price, not the member price.

Six Feet Under is a pretty good deal. I think a bunch of you should order it, so the discount increases.

Site seems to be a little goofy. I started a new account and get this message because my membership # isn't in the box. Logging out and logging back in isn't making the membership # appear.....
