preordered Seinfeld for 121 including buying membership and tax. I should be able to get close to that after selling my earlier sets. Was hard to pick between that, X-files, Star Trek, and Stargate, but that set just seems to have more oomf.
Thanks Kenbenobi, you're my only hope.

Just imagine, years from now, a COMPLETE SIMPSONS SET with 125+ discs!

Thank again to kenbenobi for the 50% off coupon code (and LASERMOVIES & brendagg for all the others.)

Too bad Berlin Alexanderplatz comes out the day after the sale ends...now I must choose between that and the Ford set.

Why not try that?
It could be risky though if they choose to cancel the order, then the coupon is still counted as used. You would have to call them and convince them to have them release the coupon for your account; erase it as being used already.
I actually am thinking about doing a preorder or chancing waiting until what I want is released.

Since the 50% coupon is so good I signed up for a second membership. I had a extra account already which made it easy. Pre-ordered the Ford box even though I already own 5 of the films for about $90 not counting my B&N mastercard discount and ********. Used the 25% to get Looney Tunes Gold Collection 5 for $31 not including other discounts. Now I have to figure how to make the most of 2 memberships since my first one has about 5 more months remaining.

ok id like to give bn.com some of my cash, but im trying to sweeten this deal as much as possible...
what is this ******** thing i read a few times? is it ******.com? just checked it out but cant find info on how it actually works![Frown](/images/smilies/frown.gif)
fatwallet has a 3% cash back - anything wrong going through them?
and is it possible to use this code in-store with receiving an email?

******** is similar to fatwallet. I use ******** and rarely use fatwallet. ******** sends you the money every 3 months to your Paypal account (or they cut you a check, if you prefer). ******** tends to give higher percentages than FW at most stores, but there are a few stores where FW wins. ******** also offers a $5 bonus for you and the person who referred you. So if no one referred you, let me know and I'll PM you my info!

I actually like FW better. ******** conveniently forgets to pay me more often. They can not give you your money if you use a coupon not listed on their site. FW always comes through even if at a lower amount.

Its a problem when they investigate your case when you dont get paid. Theyll say you did something or look for reasons not to pay. They also wont investigate after a certain period of time. (making preorders in the distant future a poor choice there.) Ive always been paid in the end at FW. One time I tried to get my sharebuilder rebate from ******** and they said I already used a code and wouldnt pay. I only use them as last resort as I dont trust them.

Interesting. I've never had missing credit, and practically always use coupons. But I take a precautionary approach to it. I go to the store website first and make sure I'm logged in to my account, and add everything to my shopping cart first. Then I go to ******** and link back to the store and immediately check out. If you spend too much time clicking links in the store, you might eventually lose the referral link from ********. This has worked for me with 100% success, and I've used them often for 3 years.
But I agree about them forgetting to Paypal you quarterly. That happened to me twice, but all it took was one email each time and I got paid.

I've had fairly goodluck with ******** on getting rebates on online purchases. So far I've received 100% of them from purchases at B&N. I currently have 11 B&N credits from this quarter on purchases alone. The few times I haven't received credits seems to be related to the stores. I got screwed out of them several times from purchases at Bestbuy and OfficeDepot. I never seem to get them from either store if I do in store pick ups. So never use them under those circumstances. However since most credits are small I don't worry too much about it. I should add I get checks mailed and never had a problem getting one.

Paypal Virtual Debit Card

I just discovered this Paypal virtual debit card and it works great! You download the paypal software, and it fills in forms, manages addresses and generates virtual mastercard numbers that expire 12/07. Perfect for online shopping!

Well if you want to sweeten it, you could try mypoints.com and enjoy getting 10 points per dollar spent at Barnes and noble. (Allow 3 to 4 weeks for points to post). For rewards, there is several choices but i usually get the $50 Shell card for 7250 points, which is as good as cash in my book or you can get a $25 online gift certificate to BN.com for 3250. So, it works out better if you spend $325 at bn.com you get a $25 card through mypoints, and if you go to ******, you would get about $13 cash back. (if they remember to pay you)
