They had been doing this in the last sales, at least since 2006 when I started to buy from them. Now they admit that they did it wrong!? Can I get a refund from the last-year sales?
Well it took 3 emails.Their response to the first 2 was something like "We are sorry but shipping costs are calculated before the discount is subtracted." or something like that.So I guess you need to email them 3 or 4 before they give in.

LOVE this sale! Here's what I ordered ...

First -

1 BBC017180 DVD : DR WHO-VENGEANCE ON VAROS $ 11.99 In-stock
1 BBC019250 DVD : DR WHO-THE THREE DOCTORS $ 11.80 In-stock
1 BBC019940 DVD : DR WHO-THE TWO DOCTORS $ 19.18 Backorder
1 BBC020830 DVD : DR WHO-LOST IN TIME COLLECT $ 27.19 In-stock
1 BBC025040 DVD : DR WHO-REVELATION OF THE DA $ 11.80 In-stock
1 BBC027320 DVD : DR WHO-MARK OF RANI $ 11.80 In-stock

Second -
1 BBC011810 DVD : DR WHO-THE TOMB OF THE CYBE $ 11.99 In-stock
1 BBC024890 DVD : DR WHO-BEGINNING COLLECTION $ 27.16 In-stock
1 BBC028590 DVD : DR WHO-SONTARAN EXPERIMENT $ 8.24 In-stock
1 BBC038389 DVD : DOCTOR WHO-BENEATH THE SURF $ 31.91 In-stock
1 BBC040130 DVD : DR WHO-NEW BEGINNINGS $ 27.99 In-stock

Total for the two orders was 201.05. Retail price was 338.59, so I saved 137.54.

Funny story ... I created a spreadsheet with all the Doctor Who releases on dvd and checked the prices in mid-May ... I only had a couple Who dvds already, and want to get them all eventually, so I wanted to see where I could save on the ones I wanted most. I noticed that with only one exception (the "Three Doctors" one-disc release) every Who title rose in price between mid-May and this 20% off sale. Just a coincidence, I'm sure. Still, I saved and this coincided with the gub'ment spend-me check showing up in my mailbox.

My last order from DD took 2.5 weeks to get to me. Ive never had any package take that long before. They broke up my order of 5 HD DVDs into 3 packages. Its going to be a long wait for me.

Where does one find this price ??? The website shows it as $38.93.

(Bit like the Seinfeld collection jumping from 199 to 209 !)

You might as well ADD another RULE to this as well (just for us international guys) :

- Any "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" deal ALSO includes the total value of both items for calculating shipping rates !!

EDIT - found it - http://scripts.affiliatefuture.com/A...&extid=df00030

as per usual THIS ITEM IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. Strange that !

Why do you guys in the US pay so much for TV seasons anyway ??????

Example - Deadwood seasons in Australia $19 - US - $51

I don't think we can blame the suppliers for this: I had an item from Philadelphia (TLA Video) to NYC, shipped on May 26, and it didn't arrive until June 9th! It's only 90 miles - they could have strapped it to the back of a northbound snail and it would have arrived sooner!

I got my stuff yesterday, so it took nine days to get to WI from IL. Rumor has it that USPS is slowing down its Media Mail deliveries to save gas...not sure if that's true, but free shipping from DD has been much, much slower in the past six months or so.

I'll keep that in mind.
Their system is really buggy.

Same for the international shipping after USPS increased the rate in May (?). Now it takes at least 3 weeks to get the package, which was 10-14 days last year in my case.

I don't know which one I should blame.

I recently had two different orders from TLA in Philadelphia shipped to Binghamton, N.Y. (3 hours away) routed to California first - and then back to Philidelphia before finally being delivered according to the tracking infomation.

I was speculating the same thing. When your order is boxed and labeled, I believe that is when DD sends their "shipping" notice. No telling how long it sits in their warehouse before USPS/UPS picks it up.

I think it's more that USPS gets it from DD and leaves it in their warehouse for an extended period of time until the Media Mail truck fills up and they eventually get it out to you. Oh well, it's free shipping...as long as it gets here.

It will be interesting to see. I had an order ship on the 6th and one on the 9th. I am shocked (and a bit disappionted, but I'll get over it) that the one from the 6th hasn't arrived yet. I guess under your theory they could both come on the same day. That would be weird or unusual at least.

I have one more order to make: Hitler: Rise of Evil (the old controversial CBS mini series from a few years back) and 10 Days that Changed America. Not really sure why I am waiting, maybe just to see if the price goes up so I can complain and ask myself why I waited.

I looked under my account and order details and the price for each item is the price before the discount is applied. Is that showing up for everyone else? I thought that was strange

I once had 2 separate orders that shipped on the same day arrive a week apart.

Yeah, it does that, but it should also show a discount total as well.
