I ordered on Friday, June 6th. Got a shipping notice from DDD on Saturday, June 7th. Order arrived today, June 21st. I live in Southern California. This is the longest it has ever taken, basically 2 weeks, in the past it took about 7 business days for me to receive my order.

I think with the high cost of fuel, the Postal Service is waiting until they have a full tractor trailer of media mail and parcel post packages before transporting them between the postal hubs across the nation...

I have to email DD now because my copy of The Deer Hunter HD won't play. I get a message that states This disc is not DVD format. Cannot play this disc. Anyone else have problems with Hunter and get this message. I hope that I can return the disc and get a new one unless they can't get anymore of them.

Everything in both my orders was fine(1 floater but no damage done).But I did notice that my copies of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: Gruesome Edition and The Thing Collector's edition were missing their cardboard slipcases.No big loss I thought.Then this morning I remembered that The Thing was suposed to be in a digipak but my copy is just in a normal keep case.I checked DD's website and it does says digipak.So did Universal chage the packaging for The Thing or is it like a bootleg or something?

Not a bootleg - they reissued it around 2005 in a regular case. I was surprised as well. I had ordered it from DVD Empire back then and they listed it as backordered - then changed it to "pre-order". I'm guessing that's around the time it was reissued. I've seen it at Best Buy in the regular packaging for some time now.
