Yeah, I was shocked when I went to look at other sites: rightstuf, amazon, etc. to find several items were far cheaper there, free shipping, and no tax just like at DD (even after the coupon). The chaplin sets are substantially cheaper at Amazon then at DD (both with or without coupon).

I received a bubble envelope from DDD today. Exciting, right? Well, there was nothing in the mailer. The top was open and there was nothing in it.

I've got an e-mail into DDD, they've always been really good about any issues I've had (which have been very few,) so I'm sure they'll send out a replacement. It was weird, though, because the order number on the outside of the envelope didn't match any order number I have made.

I think DDD needs to go back to cardboard only packaging or invest in some new mailers that have some higher quality adhesive. The wedding invitation Seinfeld episode comes to mind.

Sorry to hear that. Strange as well, every order I've placed during the sale has been received and each has been shipped in heavy cardboard packaging.

Though I did have two of the same sets (one was an exchange) that were ordered from DVDPlanet and each were essentially destroyed upon arrival - amaray cases crushed, discs and plastic bouncing around. Ship packaging looked perfectly fine, so I wonder what the general practice is over at their warehouses?

Today I got in another large order- 8 titles (w/ one still backordered). This order was placed on the 22nd and shipped out on the 23rd making this the quickest turn around in the sale for me so far.

Even more suprising ( and a bit disconcerting) I'm still waiting on the order of about the same size that was placed on the 16th and shipped on the 18th.

The box today arrived in perfect condition, however I had one floater well scratched up, and one title has a deep gouge that didn't break the shrinkwrap or the clear plastic sleave, but did still rip the paper jacket art underneath . I'm anal enough for it to bother me, but not anal enough to contrive to send it back.

I just got everything from this order delivered today, except for Destroy All Monsters which is on backorder (I knew about that when I ordered it). Ordered on Tuesday, got it the following Monday. No complaints here.

Sorry others are having such bad luck. DD has been very, very good to me.

Received 2 more boxes from DD today. 2 of hubby's Star Trek Voyager seasons showed up. My Gilad 15 Express Workouts, 2 DVDs in 1 case, arrived badly damaged. Both of the discs were loose in the case & scratched all to hell. You'd think somebody had actually opened the case up & taken a razor blade to the back of the discs the scratches were so deep. They don't even play, they just pixelate & freeze. I sent an e-mail off to them requesting a replacement & a return label to ship this back to them. I've had this happen only 1 other time & the return & replacement procedure went just fine. It's just a pain in the ass waiting for the replacement to arrive.

i ordered two days ago and it still says my order is "processing" and the status of all my dvds is "open" (with my one cd being "backorder").

how long til the order is processed? i dont mind waiting for the dvds to ship, as im sure they are busy but i want verification that my order is complete and has gone through. if the order somehow gets dropped now its too ltae for me to reorder them.

do I have cause for worry? Two packages (one with 8, and one with just one, as a second order of two had a backorder) send on 6/20 have yet to arrive, but... today I got two single backorder titles that were shipped out a few days later.

okay thanks Kevin, so it looks like 14-17 days seems to be the norm, so I'll wait until early next week before I should panic, it just seemed strange that they arrive out of order like that

Today I got in four packages.
One was shipped on the 23rd.
Two were shipped on the 25th.
The last was shipped on the 27th(!?!)
One of the packages was a bubble mailer (both cases deeply gouged, and jacket art torn grrrrr). All the others were in boxes and apparently very good-excellant condition, including the box sets which really had me worried.
Still haven't received the package with 6 pieces shipped out on the 18th. Estimated delivery is listed as 6/29-7/4 so I'll give it till the end of the week.

Battered bubble mailer arrived today: ALL MONSTERS ATTACK, TERROR OF MECHAGODZILLA, COLT 38 - Special Squad, CONVOY BUSTERS. Thank goodness none was damaged. The dvds are loose and not very protected that way. That's it the only order. Not sure if I'll continue with DD if they keep mailing things out this way. I'll pay extra for the cardboard boxes.

I got like 8 freaking boxes from DVDPlanet/DD combined today, LMAO. Funny thing is, each box had one to two items max thanks to separated orders/backorders. It looked like more than I got, but it was like Christmas morning opening them.

I'm still waiting on orders that shipped on the 16th and one that shipped on the 23rd. Thankfully, they're only one-movie orders so it's not like I'm out a ton of money if something were to happen to them. The first order I placed took 17 days to arrive so I'm not overly concerned at the moment.

I did place an order for a bigger ticket item but it's currently back-ordered. I decided to spring for shipping on that one.

I'm still waiting on a box from that shipped on the 18th. Then two more a week after. Hopefully the 18th box gets here this week. It's 4th O' July entertainment, at least I'm hoping.

And that pretty much sums up most of the appeal of this sale, and buying mail order in general, for me. Finding a bubble mailer in the box, or hearing a floater rattle around when you unpack is a little like getting coal in your stocking, but other than that...

Today I received a small box (not padded envelope) from DD. Inside was a single item... "Forgotten Noir Collection 3." This box set contains three keepcases with a single disc in each keepcase. In my situation, all three discs were loose (and badly scratched) in each of their respective keepcases. For two of the keepcases, the center hub was broken with a piece of plastic floating around the keepcase.

My question is...has anyone else had this problem with this particular title? If my situation is a unique case, then tomorrow, I will contact DD and request a replacement box set (and a return shipping label). If other folks are also having the same problem with this particular title, I'll just ask DD for a refund. TIA for sharing your experience.

You're right, they got me, too. I just happened to be comparing my e-mail confirmations to my Order History tonight to make sure everything matched in terms what's been shipped and what's backordered, and I noticed the discrepancies of a few cents just like you did.

First order: E-mail says 343.58, Order History says 343.62
Fourth order: E-mail says 107.14, Order history says 107.15
Sixth order: E-mail says 97.11, Order history says 97.12

I'm sure it's not some nefarious scheme to get rich by a few cents from every DD customer but it is odd.
