Have any of these offers ever worked for blu-rays?

The new "improved" site currently has no way of entering offers... even though this is aluded to on the mailings. You must be content with what ever offer they serve up or the "alternate" you *might* have when clicking on the "other offers" link.

No. An easy way to tell would be to read through the last few pages of this thread. The DMC had a recent "sale" on Blu-rays that was like $5 off their normally very high prices.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

I'm new to this and considering joining the Disney movie club. Can you please explain what it means when you refer to the 7:2 deal?

I got an offer in the mail for 4 movies for 99 cents (CC, if no CC, $1.99 each); then buy a 5th for $11.95 (which goes towards the requirement, so you need to buy 3 more titles in 2 years instead of 4); and then 6th for $8.95 (but this does not go towards the fulfillment requirement). The code is: 5031.

This works out to less $3.66 per movie (6 movies for $22), but you still have to buy three more.

The "7:2" works out to $3.71 per movie ($26 for 7 movies), but then you only have to buy 2 more - is that what makes it a better deal? Why do you call it 7:2?

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

^You call it a 7/2 because you get 7 selections at enrollment time and purchase 2 to fulfill.

The code you mention (5031) is a 5/3 deal. 5 at enrollment time and 3 to fullfill. If you take the 6th title @$8.95 it would be considered a 6/3 deal.

And your per movie price is incorrect. You also include the price of all fulfillments (including shipping if you don't use a free shipping offer to fulfill).

The 5/3 deal would be:

Enrollment package = 12.94
Fulfillment titles (w/free ship) = 58.95 (assuming you purchase only @19.95 titles)
Total = 72.79
Price per selection = $9.98

Considering the 6th selection with this deal is less than the average it's a good addition and would make the price per selection change to 9.82.

The 7/2 code works out like this:
Enrollment package = $25.90
Fulfillment titles (w/free shipping) = 39.90
Total = 65.80
Price per selection = 7.31 (a 2.51 per disk or 22.59 total savings.)

As you can see, the 7/2 is a far better code with which to enroll. If you don't use free shipping or purchase higher priced titles to fulfill the average would go up but the 7/2 still works out with a better per disk final total.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

I really hope they add more enrollment titles soon. The selection right now is pretty abysmal. I doubt I could find even two titles that I don't already have. I know the selection used to be better. Season sets of Scrubs and the Studio Ghibli movies were available, for example. Has anyone found a way to get to the old enrollment list, with or without one of the "good" codes?

Anybody having difficulty responding to a Featured Title offer? I can't find where to do it on the new site! Gawd, this is ridiculous.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

^I just rejoined and don't really have a definitive answer, but I recall that the box in the upper left of the "home" page has your current featured title *until* you respond after which it changes to something else until the next featured title comes up. I'll know for sure in a week or two once I've received the first true mailing with an offer attached.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

Thats correct the top left both has your featured title until you accept or decline, then it has a ad. The current ad I have there has 3 blu-ray titles and at the bottom of the ad it says in very small print "You have already made your Featured Title decision."

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

DMC has a great deal on seasons of Lost. Seasons 1-3 are 24.99 and Season 4 is only 19.99.

I believe this is part of the "Buy 2 at regular price, get 50% off" offer. I got Lost Season 4 at $19.99 with last month's "Buy 1 at regular price, get 50% off" offer. I got free shipping by buying the Little Mermaid trilogy as my "Buy 1".

I used this code a while back and was rejected b/c my old account still showed up as active (I did it on the weekend and did not call Disney until Tues - Mon was a holiday).

So now I go to re-enroll.

They changed the specs for this code. Now it's Buy 5 and the 9.95 title does NOT count as a fulfillment. More like a 6/4

Fucking Disney.

Or - it could be de-activated again & you're just see the "default" code offerings?

^^You might want to clear your cookies and try again. I just entered the code on the signup page and it is working as a 7/2 for me.

I haven't tried it again, but I did call Disney to re-activate my submission and they did, so I guess it worked out. Might try clearing cookies just to see if that works, but don't have the time now. Thanks for your help.

I'm pretty sure they will be with tins since every Treasures set I've ordered from DMC has come with a tin.

"Select Blu-Ray as your preferred format and receive all the best Blu-Ray promotions from Disney Movie Club!"

Just saw that message show up on the site. I'm sure all it means is your featured selection will be Blu-Ray now instead of DVD, but if you're Blu it's probably worth switching anyway.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

Sale in my account says - "Markdown Monday - 24 Hour Sale". Link on left side for reg DVDs & another for Blu-Rays.

20 selected titles only - same titles on REG as are on BR. Basically $5 savings per DVD/BR.
