Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

hello, I'm thinking about applying for the 7:2 account, and cancel my current account. I have a vip account with disney club, last time i checked it was almost imposible to open a new account if you cancel an earlier account. Is it still true?

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

^I had no problem with this. But due to the site redesign/changes and the codes disappearing for a month or so it was about 8 weeks from the time I cancelled to when I reapplied. I even got a "we miss you, rejoin now with this (bad) offer" letter about 4 weeks *after* the new account was opened. It made me laugh.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

I just opened my 5th account.

I closed an account, and a few hours later, reapplied via the website.

It turned into a lost application, and I got no response.
A week later, I re-reapplied, and got accepted within 2 days.
I just got the shipping notice, and I can access the account on the website.

The email address I listed for my lost application is recognized, but it says the account is "no longer valid."

BTW, I have used a different email address for each account (just with an incremental counter in the username).

I'm assuming anyone that's canceled has done so by calling in? Is it much of a hassle to call and cancel?

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

I just joined last week and I just got the notice that the dvds shipped today. Well I went to the site to double check to see how long it would take for the dvds to ship and I noticed that they didn't credit me for the one dvd that was to be towards my commitment. What should I do?

Also, does anyone know about how long it takes till the dvds are delivered?

Nope. I cancelled online. The last time I did this was with the old site and I've not been able to find a "contact us" link on the new site.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

I always cancel by phone. It takes less than a minute.
They're cheerful and friendly (probably a job requirement, considering the company), and they don't try to sell you anything. And they encourage you to rejoin again in the future. I always say "I will! Thanks!"

Limited hours, though, especially for me since I'm on the other side of the planet from them: 9AM-9PM, East Coast time. My Skype listing has them as (800) 362-4587.

It seems attached to the charge to your credit card. When they actually get the money, they deduct the commitments. Last time, I got my enrollment selections a week before the charge on my credit card went through, and the deductions from the commitment showed up right after that.

In what time frame. 5 in the last couple of months? I just opened one and now am ready to close it to reenroll, but don't want to push it.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

I save all my correspondence, but for some reason can't find the "Welcome to the Disney DVD Club" email from the 4th account.
My first 2 accounts were pretty old and far apart, back in early 2006 and early 2007.
The 3rd account welcome was 12/2007, the 4th was somewhere around 09/2008, based on my order records, and the 5th was 02/2009, a couple weeks ago.
As I said, I always quit on the phone.
Whenever I quit, they always cheerfully say something like "we'll be glad to have you back in the club anytime; just go to the website and sign up again." They don't say they'll reactivate the account--they specifically say to sign up again.
They're encouraging us to cycle accounts!

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

I did the same thing as Cheato about 3 or 4 months ago. I cancelled an account via phone, then signed up again later that night via the website. Only thing is, like Cheato previously alluded to, your email address is still tied to your old account, so it won't let you open another one using that same email address. So I just created another yahoo address, and viola, new account.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

Need a verification/clarification - Disney has 3 x BRs for $60 right now. That works out to $20ea - do those titles count toward commitment? They are above the $19.95 requirement. Been a while & couldn't remember.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

^Based on what you've said I would think they they *will* count as they exceed the $19.95 bottom. I'm sure CS would tell no "no, they do not count because it's a sale price" but others have reported this information from DCS is incorrect. You could always take the chance and return them if they don't count.

Yes. But remember they charge shipping, too, which is $5.95 for all 3 titles, so your actual total is $65.95, or 21.98 per title.. Depending on the titles you order, this may still be a good deal.

Now that DMC is putting more of an effort into Blu-ray and sales on Blu-ray, I might finally have a better source than Amazon for Blu-rays that I can't get at Columbia House.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

Will someone please help me out. I've been trying unsuccessfully for many weeks to join the club. I've entered the 7:2 code and added my selections, gone through the registration and payment information and everytime it tells me it cannot finish the process do to this

Oops! We're sorry, but we're having technical problems. We're working our hardest to fix them, and bring all the magic back online for you. Please check back soon!

Any help would be appreciated. Have e-mailed them and called them, unfortunatey I only remember to call on weekends or very late at night when they are not there.

Thanks

^Sorry, Joxer. Problem is probably on your end. Remember to call them during the week.

If you use them as fulfillments with the 7:2 code, there's an extra added value of $25.28 to fulfilling.
So, if you see the enrollment DVDs as valued at an average of $7.31 each, then you get 7 DVDs for $7.31 each, and 3 Blu-rays for $(65.95-25.28)/3=$13.56 each.

To make it a slightly better deal, enroll in the 7:2 account as a 6:3. Don't buy the extra DVD at $9.95 to reduce your commitment.
Then, you get 6 DVDs at $7.31, and 3 Blu-rays at $(65.95-(6*7.31-15.95))/3=$12.68 each.
You just have to decide if owning another DVD for $9.95 is worth it.

Note: This is all assuming the 3-Blu-rays-for-$60 deal counts towards fulfillment...

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

I noticed a banner when I was replying to my featured selection today, that I can choose a Blu-Ray movie for $10 if I change my format of choice from DVD to Blu.

Also, today's featured selection is Pinochio (non-Blu), Free shipping for Pinochio + Jungle Book. My offer for this month is 60% off after buying one.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

couple questions:

1) if i choose the pinocchio/jungle book double feature will it count as 1 or 2 commitments?

2) is there a way to take another title at full price with the double feature?

1) It will count as 1 commmitment, as it averages less than 19.95 per film.

2) You mean to add it onto your order? I'm not sure. I would think so, but I've never cliked the, "Yes, I want it" or whatever button before, so I'm not sure if it give you the option to do some more shopping before placing the order. Maybe someone else will have a better answer.

I switched my preferred format to Blu-ray a couple days ago, today my featured selection is Pinocchio, on Blu-ray, for $31.95.

The Double Feature is Pinocchio Blu + Sleeping Beauty Blu for $49.95 with free shipping.

I changed my format a couple weeks ago and they didn't offer me a $10 Blu-Ray for doing it. I kind of wish I had waited now. I'd have taken them up on that if I could get Sleeping Beauty or Pinocchio for $10.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

I changed mine last week. But when replying to my featured selection I also got the banner. I clicked on it & all it did was take me to my profile to change it to blu-ray. I put a couple of BR's in my cart but none showed up as $10. I was really wanting a $10 blu-ray.

This isnt a bad deal and is certainly the best BD deal out there for both movies (I think it beats Amazon.com by about 3 bucks).

From my experience, Disney movies are seldom on sale and when they are (and the sale is good), it's best to break them off majorly, since there isnt a guarantee the exact same movies will be on sale or if the terms of the next sale will be as good.
