Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
If it's a DVD account, then I don't know what you're talking about. Plenty of people have used the 3 for $60 Blu-ray deal to fulfill their regular accounts. You rarely get correct info from the CS reps on the phone. They will also tell you a discounted item won't count towards fulfillment (as does the membership agreement), but it always has.
Read back a few pages in this thread (OK, maybe more than a few--this thread is getting very long) for examples. Has something changed? I'm not buying Blu-rays through the club, so I don't have firsthand experience with this. However, I have fulfilled accounts with fulfillment credits from TV season sets at 50%-off ($39.95 becomes $19.98, still high enough to qualify).

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
Cheato, are you suggesting I should buy online 3 blu-rays for $60 + sh & h, and hope it would count toward fulfillment? And afterward, if did not count, call and fight it through with the reps?

If it didn't count, then you're probably not going to get anywhere by calling CS, because as per the terms of their agreement, it shoudn't count. However, any order I have ever placed with DMC which was over $19.95 has always counted as a fulfillment, even it was discounted and shouldn't have counted according to the terms of the agreement. However, Like Cheato, I have never orderd Blu-Ray's as fulfillments from DMC (however, others have posted in this thread that they were able to fulfill with the 3 for 60 deal).

So what's the best way to do this, for someone just starting up? Went a few pages back, didn't find any codes, and only found the blu-ray link.
The only other thing I have is something in the mail that's 4 for $1 and a fifth that counts for $12.

I purchased my 10 dollar Bluray, but just noticed that the offer is still there. Do you think this deal would actually work again? I'm tempted to give it a shot

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
It's been quite a while since it's been mentioned, I guess, but the best code is (was?) 978283. That's a 7:2 code (in CH parlance). 5 at sign-up, with options for 2 more, both of which count toward fulfillment, and 2 more to fulfill. If you plan on fulfilling with a 3-purchase deal, like the 3 Blu-rays for $60, then don't get the 2nd optional one during enrollment, and use the code as a 6:3 code.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
Of course that's what I did when I signed up... used the code as a 6:3 code.
Now I'w screwed on the Blu-ray 3 for 60 deal because now they are limiting it to select titles. All the ones I want, (Bugs Life, Bolt, Nightmare B 4 Xmas) are NOT on the list .
I love lots of their movies, but I really hate Disney as a company/business.
Sad when you can get Snow White Blu-ray on release day for $10 at a B&M, but you can't even get catalog titles at the DMC for $20.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
The recent limitations (reported by others in this forum) on enrollment selections, combined with really crappy fulfillment deals over the past 6 months or so is really putting a damper on my desire to enroll again. As I mentioned in a recent post here, I still haven't found anything to use to fulfill my current account. As you say, the Blu-ray selection in the $20x3 deal is poor, and as I have observed, the monthly Featured Selections' deals have been pretty lousy (to me). Also, what is with the limitations on the Treasures editions? Disney would prefer my money go to scalpers on eBay or Amazon Marketplace instead of them? I don't give a damn about packaging--at least let me get the Treasures that aren't in "The Vault" in regular packaging. I'd use Dr. Syn and The Complete Goofy as fulfillment selections today.
It used to be that I could fulfill within 3 months of enrolling, based on a combination of decent enrollment selection combos and decent sale codes. I've only gotten my Disney titles from Amazon (and Hastings and SecondSpin, but they're not exactly in the same category) lately.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
The site finally worked and I ordered 3 Blu-Rays for $60 + shipping. My account under Order History Status says "Processing", and my Commitment page says "You must purchase 3 more movies..." Is it too early to conclude that in my case this did not work, or should I wait until the status changes to "Shipped"?

You have to at least wait until the charge goes through on your card. If they're not paid for yet, they're not counting toward fulfillment.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
It worked like a charm. About two days after the status changed to "Shipped" the commitments showed up. Awesome deal! Thank you Cheato, Smart-Ass, Obi-Wan Jabroni, and thejester for your collective wisdom!

Anyone tried to sign up for a new account this past week?
Trying to sign up for a new Blu-ray account, but after I enter all the info, when it gets to the very last page, it says that the site is unavailable.

While I'm thinking about it too... anyone here who uses their Disney Movie Rewards points, there is now a promotional video about HD and Blu-ray (chock full of advertisements of course), on the Rewards website. After logging in, click on the tab at the top of the page that says Blu-ray.
Watch the entire video (PLAY ALL), and when it is finished you receive an extra 100 points added to your account.
Also, anyone who doesn't use their points, I would love to have yours. I have two little boys that love all the worthless stuff you can get with the points.
Thanks twa2

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
So Sleeping Beauty is the new monthly selection, no surprise.
My default offer is 33%-off additional DVDs and 25%-off Blu-rays. However, under Other Offers, I have a 50%-off DVDs/25%-off Blu-rays. Gee, thanks, DMC. Just testing my willingness to check the Other Offers page? So, just a heads-up to check that page.
Be aware, though, that a 50% discount will put some things below the threshold to count as fulfillment titles. If you're looking to fulfill your account, the 33% discount might be more attractive in some cases ($34.95 titles, for instance).
Anyone have an idea of what next month's selection may be? I haven't turned mine down yet (the email often tells you what is coming soon), as I am waiting to see if they add some other new titles to the catalog in the next couple of weeks, and I just may wind up getting it (even though I already got it from Amazon).
To answer SMART-ASS' question below: I am considering getting (a 2nd) Sleeping Beauty to use as a present for another person just due to what else I may be able to get in the near future. Due to the past few months of lousy (IMO) director's selections, and the fact that getting director's selections packages as fulfillment titles is one of the few ways (only way, these days it seems) to get free shipping, PLUS the fact that there is a decent sale code active now on my account AND there is a possibility of some other things being added to the club within the next week or two that I really want, means that my best deal for the foreseeable future might be SB+Pooh's Seasons of Giving (which I also want) to give me free shipping, and then the other 2-6 other titles that I want, at 50%-off, if the remaining 4 become available. So optimally I'll get 7 titles that I want at prices that probably can't be beat, and an extra SB, and my account will be fulfilled and I can close it. Considering Disney's release schedule for the future, I really don't see what else, if anything, I will want new any time soon.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
Thanks Cheato. I will definitely check "other offers".
Why would you buy SB if you alreay own it?
_____________________________________________
Also, can anyone give me an idea on how long it's been taking for titles to be added to the club.
For example, recent additions include Bolt and Bug's Life on Blu-ray.
Just wondering how long it will be before UP and Monster's Inc Blu-ray are added as fulfillment selections.
TIA

I also see that they have these little notes at various places on the site that say to check out the bigger savings on Blu-ray discs. That the prices in RED are LOWER prices than usual.
Well, all I see is the same ole same ole.
They have the usual outrageous MSRP, and the red prices are just indicative of the sale banner. Like right now, the banner is B1, get 50% off dvds and 25% off Blu-ray. The Blu-ray price in red is simply the 25% off which is the sale offer. Add the title to your cart, and in most circumstances it is FULL MSRP because it is the highest priced title in the cart.
So WHERE are the "Now Bigger Blu-ray Savings?

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
The Zorro Treasures are available from the club now for $39.95 each. I just ordered them to fulfill my account; I hope I actually get them, considering how limited they are. My account now has the 50%/25%-off deal as the default, and the 33%/25%-off offer is now in my Other Offers section (along with the 15%-off everything offer that has been there for ages).
So, $39.95 + $19.98 + $8.42 shipping = $68.35.
I just couldn't figure out a better way to work the deal. Since the site redesign last year(?) the old trick of ordering a non-discountable item to get the higher-priced discountable items with the discount doesn't work anymore. Since the Featured Selection double feature is "only" $34.95, that meant that even with it in my cart, one of the Treasures was still full price. If the old trick had still worked, it would have been a no-brainer, but in this case, $34.95 would have saved me $8.42 in shipping. I could have ordered a few more things I am interested in, too, so it would have saved me another $5 or so in shipping on top of that. At best, I was looking at $19 for the Snow White (I know, I said Sleeping Beauty in my earlier post, but I meant Snow White) Blu-ray/DVD combo, which I already have, and Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving, which I do want. In the end, though, I decided it wasn't really that good a deal, and just bought the Treasures.
