No way to speed it up. The last 2 memberships I signed up for, I had access to my account within 3-4 days of applying.

You could call tomorrow and ask if they have any record of your application. However, it can be difficult to get through if you don't already have an account.

Or, perhaps, you could try to e-mail them and ask the same question. [email protected]
Be sure to give your complete name and address since they won't have an account number to use in identifying you.

In general, it isn't practical to enroll for an account to take advantage of a particular sale. The wheels at Columbia House grind slowly.

Duly noted. Either way, Columbia House is a great way to get some DVDs. I'm just sorry I never got in on this sooner.

I had great success using the B9V code. I bought the THERE WILL BE BLOOD 2-disc set as my fulfillment purchase, which was $27.94 with shipping, but I paid no shipping on my five free DVDs by sending my order through the "Contact Us" email form instead of mailing in the vouchers. I didn't even get an email response for the order, the titles just showed up in my order history and arrived a few days later. My total cost was $29.93, which works out to $4.28 per title for 7 DVDs. No complaints here. I would be willing to do this a few more times at that price as new releases become available for enrollment.

I am surprised that you didn't use a BOGOF offer to get an additional DVD along with your fulfillment. That would have lowered your average DVD cost a bit more.

I also have a new B9V account but haven't decided what to fulfill it with yet.

My first order just shipped today! Five out of seven suddenly became "full screen," as said on the confirmation e-mail. I guess I'll have to deal with it when I receive the package. Anyways, just wanted to share.

Has anyone been able to open an account with B9V once they already had open an account with it before?

I've heard of having one fullscreen title sent by mistake, but five? Did you order them by selection number? Are you sure you had the right selection numbers for the widescreen versions?

Did you enroll on-line or on the phone?

You will be able to exchange the fullscreen versions for widescreen, but it will be a nuisance and take some time.

I remember searching them and even loooking for the widescreen version manually. So I don't know why it happened? But I just talked to my friend and he can exchange it for me at Best Buy.

if you don't see it then clear your cookies. if you still don't see it after that, then i guess CH just doesn't want your business and you're shit out of luck.

I just got an existing member offer today in the mail for 8 DVDs at 49¢ each & only 2 commitment purchases to be fulfilled within 2 years. I want to do it online, but there is no code to enter anywhere on this. Just my account number. Methinks I'm gonna have to mail it in. I hate that. I'm an instant gratification sort of girl. Anybody else get this offer & if so do you know the code to use online for it ? I guess I'll mail it in if I have to, but gosh I hate to do that.

Did you not read my post ? There is no code to enter, but I'm wondering if somebody else has heard of this deal so I can enter it online rather than mail it in. On the blue card they sent they have my account number & that's it. I'm wondering if it's an in house only number that the service reps know, or if maybe somebody else here might be privy to the code so that I don't have to mail this in. I'd rather enter it all online.

Don't forget that the 8 DVDs for .49 each usually charge shipping, so you might want to weigh the balance and see if it's really a better deal.

That's odd, I've never seen a "we want you back" mailing that didn't have a code on it. Regardless, the 8 for 49¢ plus shipping isn't a good enrollment deal and there are better ones mentioned in this thread.

What is the best code if I want to have maybe 4 commitments. My objective is to get more Blu-ray titles out of the deal. I'm hoping to sign up and then take advantage of a Blu-ray sale. Like if the have B2G1F, then I would do 2 orders for fulfillment. A B1G1F offer would a require 4 orders to fulfill. Is this good logic. Is this good logic? There are just NOT a lot of SD-DVDs that I am interested in from CH. As my Hi-Def collection grows, I find myself less and less interested in SD. Plus, my SD collection is already so big, there's just not much left fro me.

I'd rather B1G1 than B2G1. Call me crazy, but even if you threw one of the DVDs in the trash after 4xB1G1, you'd still come out ahead of the 2xB2G1, right?
As far as I know, there is no "best deal" with 4 commitments. Everything over 3, and you're just spending extra money for no reason.
Give the free DVDs away that you don't want. Donate them. Send them to the armed forces serving abroad. Decorae your house. Send them to DVDPlanet for store credit. Sell them.
Of course, the last time I offered you advice, you jumped down my throat.
The math is all pretty straightforward, and has been discussed ad nauseum in this thread and others. I can see no way to come out ahead by choosing to do what you say, either from the Blu-Ray perspective or not.
Maybe your best bet is to just lay off for a while until CH starts carrying more of what you want, or until they get a Blu-Ray club.

Wow! Well, i don't really remember what I did to piss you off, but I guess you got me back, eh.
Of course I'd have to be dumber than a box of rocks to not realize that a B1G1 isn't better than a B2G1... duh. ...but if the only thing they are offering is the B2G1, then I wouldn't really have much choice would I. I really don't care about averaging out at $1 more per dvd because we are talking Blu-ray here, and no matter what, they will be mucho more exspensive anywhere else, even on sale.
So I think I WILL keep buying from CH because I like too.
I'm just trying to figure out how I can get more HD and less SD for my money.
Thanks.

Sorry if what I just wrote sounded like I was "trying to get you back." I honestly didn't mean anything snide. I was mainly pointing out that I didn't know of any enrollment deals that were anywhere close to good if you "want" more than 3 obligations. I looked around quite a bit back when I was buying the MASH set, because that counts as 5 fulfillments.
And you were the one who asked if it was good logic...
I couldn't see any logic in it, based on the current system and how you asked the question.
My final comment wasn't intended to be a "go away," if that's how you took it. I'm kind of in the same boat. I am not interested in BD like you, but I have essentially run out of regular DVDs to get from CH. But if I "go away" for a few months, I'm sure there will be enough to come back and cycle another account (if I can get accepted, that is--the last 10 or so apps just went missing).

As for "what [you] did" before, it was when you were upset about a screw-up on one of your orders, and I was, as you put it, on my soapbox. Maybe it's my writing style, or my communication style in general that's incompatible with yours. At THAT time, I didn't mean to be offensive, but you seemed to take great offense at my suggestion. I didn't feel the need to reply. There was no reason for you to remember my name, but I remembered yours mainly because of the all-caps handle. No biggie. Hugs all around, as far as I'm concerned.
