Well, to help disprove the anecdotal evidence, I have no open accounts, and haven't had an account in probably a year or more. Very frustrating. Oh well..will probably try a phone app next time after giving it a couple weeks to see if my last app goes through. Thanks for the help lizard.

Never had this problem with the earlier accounts. Any ideas? Are phone applications the only way to go now? If so, what good codes are working that way?

I just got my enrollment package using 9QJ.

Also, one of my selections was discontinued. Usually they send you a coupon for a free DVD. This time I got a letter stating that it was discontinued, but no coupon. I went on the website and noticed that they still charged me for it.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I called and they're sending me something else, but they were going to try and sneak that by me.

Woah! Please help... I used a Paypal VCC to create my account and now have two pending charges from Columbia House on my Paypal account. Does Paypal automatically put a charge on your bank if you run out of Paypal funds? Because I only had like $4 left on Paypal after placing my order and my bank card funds are down to like $2. This is freaking me out. I just checked my balance. Obviously, Columbia House has made some kind of mistake. I only placed one order. And the two orders show different totals (though similar) which is pretty weird.

Does anyone have any advice?

Can you tell if one of the CH charges is a temporary one? CH will often put a temp charge on an account to verify that the CC is valid. That charge drops off in a few days to a week. Otherwise, you should be able to see the orders and charges on your CH account.

Sorry, I don't know how Paypal handles deficits in an account. Haven't used my account for years.

I never buy my first one, so I can get something not available for enrollment when the codes work.

Well, as an update: both charges (the charge I expected and the random one) dropped off my Paypal account with no problems. The actual charge has gone through now (with tax included) so I guess this means my order will be on my way.

I plan on buying the Alfred Hitchcock Signature Collection which should be enough to fulfill my account. I'll wait on doing that though so I can get free shipping and free movies or something similar.

Hey guys, I wanted to know if there is a way to know if you have been blacklisted. I have been trying to open a new account for the last couple of months, but it is not work (maybe it is b/c i'm trying to open it with the B1G7 enrollment code) I received an invitation for a new account with the 8:3 offer. Does that mean that I'm good? (I kind of can guess the answer but I wanted to make sure)

Especially if you get an offer mailed directly to YOU. Then the best method of trying to open an account is to MAIL the offer back in. The second best way is to call in the order. If you actually got a solicitation to YOUR home address, then that address is most likely not blacklisted. Try a DIFFERENT enrollment code should help too.
Waht's the code for the 8:3 offer that you got?

Oh, is not a good one, is the one that you have to pay shipping for your whole order.
You know buy 8 for .49 + S&H then buy 3 at regular price Code: D0L (i'm kind o sure that's a zero, but if it doesn't work try "O"

Has anyone been having trouble entering savings codes? Yesterday everytime i entered a code it would go through and once I added a title it would go back to the original deal. I deleted cookies and tried over and over. Then today I tried again and the codes don't go through at all now.

I find that enrollment codes seem to be working normally on the website. Don't know what to suggest.

I was wondering about this and almost posted a message in another thread. I am wondering if CH is restricting the use of codes on accounts that haven't been fulfilled. Disney does this. They give decent codes only after you have fulfilled your account.

I wonder if the average of 4.80 / DVD is over. (B1G1 free shipping fullfilled on a 7:2) is over.

Question: did you call the correct phone enrollment number (888-242-3837) and select the apply-for-a-new-account option? If so, then it would appear that 98W is dead for phone enrollments, as you say. The reason I ask is because regular Columbia House CSRs haven't been able to use the best enrollment codes for some years now, so calling the regular phone numbers can be a problem.

There hasn't been much in the way of recent reports here of phone enrollment codes working. Besides 98W, the only code reported to work recently is 76W. Other codes that might work on the phone are 59H, 75X, 75Y, and 76C.

Pretty much any 7:2 offer received in the mail in recent months ought to be a code that would work on the phone. However, I haven't received a good 7:2 mail-in code since last year. Has anyone else got such an offer in the mail?

Does anyone know which codes are working currently? Would it be possible to post those? Better yet, can we start a new thread of enrollment codes. The top post on this thread is now over a year out of date. I'm about ready to open a new account, and I have a friend who would like to open their first account, and frankly I have no idea where to find codes anymore.

I think that most of the codes in the first post still work on-line, easy enough to tell: just enter the code and see if the proper 7:2 offer appears.

The discussion above was about working phone enrollment codes, which have always been scarce.

If someone would like to start and maintain a "Part III" enrollment code thread, he or she is welcome to do so. [I'm on dial-up so it is a tedious process to check codes (to properly judge them one must close and re-open the columbiahouse.com window and that is time consuming with a glacially slow connection).]

QJ3

6+1 with free Shipping and Processing. Buy 2 to fulfill. No PSN needed.

The terms seem to be different when you click on the link on the main page vs. when you click through and check out. YMMV

Does anyone know of a code that bills you later (no credit card needed up front) and does NOT require a PSN? I couldn't find one in this post. Thanks

QJ3 did not require a PSN and had the bill me later option. I was approved after 1 day and got my enrollment package 1 week later which is a record.

Dumb question of the day post.

Where can I put in the enrollment code?? I used to be able to do it from the top of the page but since the site redesign all it wants to do is take me to the membership details info. There is nowhere to key in the enrollment code for a new sign up.

Sorry for the dumb question which I am sure has been asked and answered many times but I do not see it in this thread.

TIA

Greg

^There's a box under the "Shopping Cart" section on the right side of the screen with the text "Do you have a savings code?"

If you do not see that box, clear your cookies and try again.
