They must have finally closed off this loophole. I placed an 801490 order this weekend on a new account. They shipped out all 3 at the same time and I only received credit for 1 fulfillment. 'Twas fun while it lasted.

All right, you guys just convinced me to contact them and try this. I'll be shocked if it works for me, too, since I never get lucky with CS reps, but it's worth a shot...

EDIT: ARGH!!! They royally F'd up my order. They said they would remove the shipping charges, which they did. But my 3 BD's are now FULL RETAIL PRICE! My order went from $53.49 to $105.85!
Original order:
$20.97 Salt
$21.57 The Town
$0.00 Rocky Horror Picture Show
$0.00 Doctor Who Brain of Morbius
$0.00 Doctor Who Delta and the Bannermen
Subtotal: $ 42.54
Estimated Shipping and Processing: $ 10.95
TOTAL: $ 53.49

Current order:
$34.95 Salt
$35.95 The Town
$34.95 Rocky Horror Picture Show
$0.00 Doctor Who Brain of Morbius
$0.00 Doctor Who Delta and the Bannermen
Subtotal: $ 105.85
Estimated Shipping and Processing: $ 0.00
TOTAL: $ 105.85

I fired off another email. I hope they can fix this quickly, since I paid with a debit card!

^^^ 16 minutes after my email to them, I received an email back saying they fixed it, and sure enough they did! $42.54 is my new total. WOOHOO!!! TY Sweet Baby James for the great suggestion... But if anyone else does this, make sure you verify your order online after they remove the shipping, just in case they screw it up like mine...

They took an $9.29 (an extra $2.32) off my order. Still haven't figured that out yet. I ended up Despicable Me (BR/DVD) + 2 Twilight Eclipse (DVDs) for $19.63 Thanks again Sweet Baby James!

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Are we going to have to wait until next Christmas for more codes? I've got some money to burn and I'd like to get a good deal. I hate being patient.

I would imagine that a BOGO code will surface soon. They had a "Buy a DVD in December and get a BOGO code in January" promotion. I bought a DVD in December so I expect to receive the BOGO code in my e-mail any day now.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

It would appear that this won't allow for a BR to be the Buy One. At least I can't seem to get it to work. It works fine if I use two DVDs.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I got the email with 20110112BRT1D code and it didn't work with BR as the buy one as well. So I decided to try 801490 and it still works. I randomly selected a BR (Salt) and 2 DVD (Despicable Me and The Town), the BR shows up as $20.97 and the other 2 were free but $6.97 was added for S&P (Total $27.94).

for the exclusion of Blu-rays with the 20110112BRT1D code. for the return of the 801490 code. Thanks for the heads-up, Jane.

Is 801490 working for anyone if it came up as promo expired before or is it just active for new accounts?

It's not coming up on my old accounts. It does work on the account that I signed up for yesterday. Time for you to open up a new one.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

801490 works on my new, unfulfilled, TVonDVD account... BUT it removes *all* discount from sets! Just to test I put a couple of DVDs in the cart with a set and the total was ~$10 less with the code than without. The 2 "free" selections would cost $10 each by using the code (i.e. the cost of a set w/2 "free" selections is $19.98 MORE than the set alone). Considering that I'm *still* able to get regular DVDs from CH at $4.80 average and the increase of the set to "club price" pretty much kills it for me.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I got a "extended weekend" B1G1 offer on my accounts... *BUT* while the "fine print" indicates you can use a set for the qualifier it does not work on my accounts. So far I've only been able to get it to work with single DVDs. Here are the codes in case someone wants to try:

20110114TVDLongWeekendT2
20110114DVDLongWeekendT1

Unlike other "pass through" codes I've received these do not show up in the cart!?! I tried various combinations but all showed to be "invalid". It would only work by clicking through the email.

Bob, when you click through the email, after the page loads, take a look at the URL ... part of the URL may say YCODE= and then list the code that others could try. (Though, you probably already knew that ...)

Yep, but if you can get anything from it, here it is:

YCODE=20110117DVDLongWeekendT1

Which is different than what's in the email.

Still not working correctly today and the discrepency could be the problem.

Interesting, Bob.

Normally the YCODE ends up being the coupon code. :-\

Sorry for making you waste the time posting it!

Free shipping(excluding box sets) through January 23-

20110120FSPT1D

If you use the 801490 code, you won't receive free shipping. However, if you place the order with shipping, you can then contact CH and tell them that you didn't receive free shipping. They will cancel the order and create a new order with the 801490 code still valid and the shipping will be waived.

Has anyone tried to combine the BOGO offer with free shipping?

Like the 801490 code, it's either the BOGO or FS, not both. I have never had a problem with getting the shipping waived from CH when I place an order with shipping during a free shipping weekend. Just place the BOGO order with shipping and contact CH. Tell them that you didn't receive free shipping even though it's your default offer. They will cancel your original order and place a new order waiving the shipping charge and the BOGO will still be intact.

Actually, it looks like the free shipping is working with the Doctor Who Series 5 Blu-ray set.

Shows as free shipping for me on my TV account only, but not on my regular DVD account. However, note that it shows as a PRE-ORDER to ship Feb. 28...
