Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Sorry, I've been out of the loop for a while, but is there any free shipping on sets ever? I added 5 large sets to my cart and shipping is nearly $40.

A weird thing: just popped in to my TV account, where I had one item in the cart from before (an inexpensive title, unfortunately), and the cart said it was Free plus $2.99 shipping (& tax). So I ordered it before they could change their mind.

Is it possible you had previously applied bonus points to that item and then didn't place the order? I've noticed that if I do and then leave the site and return later, the item will show as Free. However, the bonus points will be deducted.

I think I did do that. (I even double checked to see if the BPs got deducted already.) I'll see what happens.

Interesting... I've never noticed that before so I just checked as I'd had a order for BP ready to go. It did exactly that.

Then I noticed the "clearance" title I'd had in the cart to get the flat rate shipping is now regular price.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I'm amazed they haven't had a decent sale this holiday season. The last decent one they had was close the begining of December.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Don't remember a decent December deal. The last unglitched great deal was the Memorial Day 70% TBPs. But, maybe I missed one.

Just want to remind everyone to start using up your bonus points. You can't carry them over to the new year, and whatever item you use them on must ship prior to 12/31 (nothing backordered, no 2013 preorders)

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I just placed an order for Dredd using bonus points because they gave me that option. What are the chances that this order will go thru?

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

0% becuz the order won't ship until 2013. Your BPs will expire before Dredd ships.

Cancel it and use them on something else.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

70% off when you purchase 1 *plus* Triple Bonus Points with code 20121227YEST1D

Just why CH would make this offer with 5 days left in the year to use any accrued bonus points (which *will* expire 12/31/12) is one of those mysteries. Plus it's possible they may not even post to your account in time to actually redeem them.

Don't forget to actually redeem your Bonus Points *before* the 31st! CH has been known to expire them before the end of the day on the 31st.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

^ That's 70% off DVD's, not BD's, which means it's a crap promo...

The triple BP would be fine for pre-orders, but with no Free Shipping, it's not even worth considering...

I have 10 BP left, but I can't find one single $10 title worth paying $3 for... It isn't easy to search their site either, so I'll probably just let those expire...

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

^IMHO it's a crap promo all the way around. I'm sure there will be *some* people who'll bite but I have to believe those people are the ones who'll pay full MSRP on titles and truly think they get a deal from CH without working codes, etc.

I have 6 BP left and they can expire. Even if they had a title for $6 it wouldn't be worth the hassle. Just another reason I feel this program is for the birds. I wish they'd return to the old method of letting you use these to reduce the cost of a selection and just pay the difference. But in those days the BP price was also the "everyday" price and *not* MSRP as it now stands.

I noticed when I tried using this code, that it only gives me 70% off the first 7 titles and then the rest are regular price. It's doing that with other offers as well. Anyone else having this issue?

I had 10 BPs left too and I used them on The Great Raid Blu-ray. I haven't seen it but I like WWII films and it was directed by someone-John Dahl- whose previous films I enjoyed so for $3 I figured what the hell. The reviewer at Blu-ray.com gave the film 5 stars and the video 4.5 and it received a Highly Recommended from the DVDtalk reviewer so there's at least some positive opinions.

Haven't tried the current code... but I noticed that with the 70% off code from 12-20 that you could only get the 70% off on a maximum of 8 items.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I've sent five emails in the last three weeks trying to cancel one of my fulfilled accounts and they won't respond. They don't even send an email saying they received my request. Something is wrong over there.

Yah, in the last few weeks I've sent them emails requesting an exchange for a damaged copy I received, and gotten no response.

In the past I used to always get a response within a few days from customer service.

Maybe just a coincidence, but it seems like their email CS has been pretty bad ever since the $5.95 fiasco a couple months ago. I wonder if they got hammered so bad with nasty emails over that debacle that they just decided to stop responding to any emails.

The B1G70% TBP deal is back, minus blu rays being eligible for the discount. Blah.

... And with their crappy new "8-item-limit-per-qualifying-title" policy in place again.
