I just saw it seems to be working on one regular account I used it on before.

It says it applied code 801490 to my account but it didn't discount the two disc in my cart.

If you don't mind, tell us the 3 titles in your order.

Do you mean that one of the DVDs in your cart is a 2 disc and it is showing up at full price,or that the 2 DVDs in your cart which you hope to get free, are actually not free?

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I had two blu ray disc in my cart but I have since found out that it has to be one blu ray and one DVD for the bogo to work. Sucks for me since I haven't bought a DVD in over three years. Oh well if it seems to good to be true it usually is.

Not me. Used it maybe 3 months ago, still shows "promotion is expired" on my regular 5/3 DVD account.

I wonder what explains the discrepency. That would be a nice deal with free shipping.

801490 will not stack with free shipping.

If you use the 801490 code, you won't receive free shipping. However, if you place the order with shipping, you can then contact CH and tell them that you didn't receive free shipping. They will cancel the order and create a new order with the 801490 code still valid and the shipping will be waived.
I gave it a try, but this is ther reply I recieved back:

"Dear Member,

Thank you for contacting us.

We’re sorry you experienced difficulty placing an order on our website.

We will be happy to process your order via e-mail. Please provide the
titles and selection numbers of the items you would like to purchase,
your nine digit account number, and the sale offer to which you would
like to respond (for example: DVDs at 50% Off when you Buy 1 at Regular
Price). If you would like expedited shipping for an additional $4.99,
please let us know. This will ensure delivery of in stock items within
3-5 business days."

I wonder if thats the new policy?

BOGOF offers that will allow a BD as the freebie are very rare. It makes them of not much value to those of us who don't buy DVDs anymore, as you have found.

Nevertheless, free shipping plus the list of 58 discounted BDs is a decent deal if there is a title one wants. I picked one up as a gift for my sister.

How did you contact them? Did you use the online contact form? If you did, what did you select in the drop down box?

Give "Placing Orders" and "Sales & Specials" a whirl. Tell them that you noticed that you were charged for shipping even though it's a free shipping weekend(promotion code 20110120FSPT1D). Ask them if they would adjust your order to waive the shipping charge. Hopefully that will do the trick.

Is it my imagination, or has this club been asleep lately with sale codes?

^Not your imagination...

Roughly four years ago there would be new codes every week or two, with BOGO w/FS every couple of months.

I've noticed lately their Customer Service level has gone way up. They are easy to deal with and they are good about responding in a timely manner. I had two issues at the end of 2010 and both were resolved quickly.

Didn't work for me either, CH responded with:

Edit: I guess The Town is a New and Upoming Release.

At least they didn't raise the price. :-) BTW, I ordered Devil, Amadeus and The Town all on dvd as the last fulfillment on an account so things are still looking good.

I wrote to them in hopes that they could help me, but they havent responded yet. I noticed that 2 DVDs already shipped from the order. Will this be a problem?

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

^

CH will usually fix the problem. If they don't, then you can always refuse the package and have it sent back to Hanover, PA.

I made three 801490 orders this past weekend and my good buddy, Robinson, took care of the shipping on all 3 and the 2 freebies were still good to go. I always choose the Placing Orders and then Sales & Specials from the drop down box. I tell them that I noticed that I was charged $6.97 in shipping after placing the order even though my account has a free shipping promotion. I politely request that they adjust the order to waive the shipping charge. I never mention that I used the 801490 code to obtain the 2 freebies. Are you guys telling them that you used the 801490 code? That could be the problem because the CSR's know that you cannot stack two different promotions.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Someone here jog my memory..Just when was this last free shipping promotion?
I am having trouble remembering if my last order was placed before or during said promotion...since I was charged shipping(I used 801490).
