Digital Bits has been strongly hinting at showing something geeky at Comic Con in July at their panel. Since Ridley Scott's DVD guy was there in 2005 I am thinking this is it. I will be there on the edge of my seat I know that.

Unless there's a conflict in scheduling, I always try to catch the Bits' DVD Producers panel. It's always fun to hear the people who actually put together a DVD talk about the process. A few years ago I even got to ask a question and, of course, I had to mention DVD Talk.

I'm hoping that Harrison might be a surprise guest at Con. With Indy4 in full swing, BR coming out in a mega DVD set and Star Wars' 30th Anniversary he would be a natural to make an appearance.

They just released the full schedule for Comic-Con 2007. They're having a couple panels related to the new DVD release. This is the one I'll be at on Friday:

3:15-4:45 Warner Bros. Home Video: 300 and Blade Runner Final Cut—First up, 300 creator Frank Miller, director Zack Snyder, stars including Lena Headey and David Wenham, producers Mark Canton and Gianni Nunnari, and other special guests are on hand to discuss the groundbreaking film and its highly anticipated July 31 DVD release. Be the first to see a clip not included in the theatrical release! Then it’s the 25th Anniversary Blade Runner "Final Cut.” Director Ridley Scott (Alien, Gladiator, Hannibal) has created a new, definitive version of this landmark film, with scenes and special effects that have never been shown before. Catch this first preview of the new version by the legendary director of the final, authoritative. and best presentation of one of the most acclaimed science fiction films of the 20th century. This presentation will feature unseen clips from the new cut as well as a look behind the scenes that will be featured on the upcoming DVD box set. The panel includes Ridley Scott, Sean Young, Joanna Cassidy, Joe Turkel, James Hong, Syd Mead (designer/futurist), Mark Stetson (FX), and DVD producer Charles de Lauzirika. Hall H

If they don't say it before, I'm sure they'll give a date at Comic-Con. If they don't, and there's a Q&A, I'll try to ask.

Wow, that freaked me out a little bit, I saw the title on the main page and it just said "Blade Runner DC SE coming 09". I was thinking there was another delay of some sort.

Those new titles aren't real. Charles de Lauzirika confirmed that on HTF.

It's R4, but R1 is supposed to be getting the same set.

Disc 1 - The Final Cut (2007):

Ridley Scott’s definitive new version of his science-fiction masterpiece includes added & extended scenes, added lines and new and cleaner special effects.

Disc 2 - 3 Complete Film Versions:

‘82 U.S. Theatrical version
‘82 International Theatrical version
‘92 Director’s Cut
Disc 3 - “Dangerous Days: Making Blade Runner” Documentary

Newly created documentary: Through interviews with the cast and crew, critics and colleagues, this feature-length documentary provides a mainstream-friendly yet meaningful in-depth look at Blade Runner’s literary genesis, its challenging production and controversial legacy. When all is said and done, this will be the definitive documentary on the film.

Disc 4 – Enhanced Content Bonus: (TBC)

INCEPTION - Featurettes and galleries devoted to Philip K. Dick, the birth of Cyberpunk and adapting the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.
PRE-PRODUCTION - Featurettes and galleries devoted to script development, conceptual design and abandoned sequences.
PRODUCTION - Featurettes and galleries devoted to principal photography and locations.
POST-PRODUCTION - Featurettes and galleries devoted to deleted scenes, music and visual effects.
RELEASE - Featurettes and galleries devoted to marketing and reaction including Trailers, TV Spots and Promotional Featurettes
LEGACY - Featurettes and galleries devoted to the film’s resurrection and impact.

Disc 5 - Work Print Version & Enhanced Content:

Including the rarely seen Work Print version and potentially the 52 min. Channel Four (UK) documentary which was the first serious documentary created for the film.
Additionally, the set will come packaged in a limited “Blade Runner” briefcase holding the five-disc digipack with foil-enhanced and embossed slipcase. The goodies inside will include a lenticular motion image from the original feature, a collectible model spinner, an origami unicorn, a collection of photographs and a letter from Ridley Scott.

The original youtube trailer promo for the Final Cut was deleted by Warner. Here is another link that works:

Saw This in Another Thread:

Warner sees profit in pricey DVD mega-sets
HOME MEDIA EXPO: Harry Potter, others coming in Q4
By Susanne Ault -- Video Business, 7/17/2007

JULY 17 | LAS VEGAS—Summer blockbusters get a lot of the buzz in the fourth quarter on DVD, but Warner Home Video believes retail also will find deluxe box sets particularly valuable because of their relatively richer profit margins—and at the studio’s Monday night reception here, retailers agreed.

At the event for key retailers, Warner showed off 14 such DVD collections that the studio will make available for retail this fourth quarter. Since many of these multiple-disc sets are lavishly packaged and include exclusive add-ons, they carry pricing of $100 to $200 or more. Sets will include Harry Potter Years 1-5 Limited Edition Gift Set and The Gilmore Girls: The Complete Series.

.........Baker also singled out Warner’s upcoming 25th anniversary Blade Runner releases, which include four-disc and five-disc configurations, as especially critical for the studio.

Taking Blade Runner and Harry together, “this will mean $40 million in consumer sales,” estimated Baker.

Title details...........

The five-disc Blade Runner set is $78.92 and four-disc is $34.99. Blu-ray and HD DVD versions of the five-disc configuration also will be available day and date.

..........Exact street dates for Potter, Blade Runner and Gilmore Girls sets haven’t yet been specified...........

That's a hell of a price jump between the 5-disc and the 4-disc.

I am pretty sure the 5 disk set comes in the special case with all the extras, the 4 disk set will probably be in a regular dvd box set...

Why do you think that? just because it doesn't mention it, does mean it will not be there. Christ he done one for Black Rain!

okay, okay.... I'm just want the 'kitchen sink' and all here ... - usually at this point in time wouldn't there been some definative news in regards to a full feature length commentary track - right?

after this, I want Scott to egg Paramount on for a mega deluxe edition of '1492'
