It matters for every release, we should be getting lossless audio on as many discs as possible, especially new releases.

Although I find most of AVS useless, this thread was actually somewhat interesting:

"Hamlet on Blu-ray: Is It Coming Or Not? The Answer..."

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=878804

The answer is apparently "not right away." Disappointing...hopefully they actually do release it early next year. They're doing it with Alexander, so there's hope....

Damn, next year? Granted, I'm not shocked it's not coming in August - I first had my suspicions when the Elvis titles were announced for September, but I was at least hoping it would only get pushed back a couple of months.

BTW, Amazon Unbox has this for rental for $2.99, for those of us who don't want to wait to rent the DVD.

The blu-ray also gets TrueHD, the page you linked to was updated with the proper info.

Bram Stoker's Dracula has just been added at DVDEmpire for Blu-Ray on 10/2. Since it's streeting the same day as the new DVD SE I'm assuming it should be the special edition as well.

http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_ite...6114&searchID=

AVS and blu-ray.com are also mentioning some upcoming Warner titles (assuming both formats here): Poltergeist SE (10/9), Twilight Zone: The Movie (10/9), and Return to House on Haunted Hill (10/16)

Figures, as I just managed to snag a laserdisc copy of The Twilight Zone Movie.

If it's any consolation, I watched The Twilight Zone: The Movie in high-def on HDNet Movies, and it really didn't look that great.

Well, hopefully it's gotta look better than that ancient P&S laser I got . I only paid $10 for it on Ebay, but it took a long time for it to pop up.

In a shuffling of its fall high-def slate, Paramount Home Entertainment has indefinitely postponed the planned October Blu-ray and HD DVD release of 'Flashdance.'

No loss here...just as long as they don't cancel "Saturday Night Fever".

Wow, Poltergeist was expected, but not Twilight Zone. Even if it doesn't look all that great, might as well get it in HD since you're not replacing a DVD.

Yeah, The Twilight Zone listing was a shocker for me. I had just given up waiting for a DVD all these years, hence the laserdisc search.

I wonder if BV gave Amazon a heads up on some dates?

On the Blu-ray Disc front, Fox has announced one new MGM title for release on the format on 9/11... Jeepers Creepers 2. Fox also informed us at the EMA conference that they're getting close to announcing more Blu-ray Disc titles of their own, and that when they do, they'll "be back in a big way." We hope to learn more very soon.

Eh, Jeepers Creepers I would've bought, but I'll stick with my DVD of the sequel, that's for sure. Hopefully they come back with their previously announced titles soon, particularly Silence of The Lambs, Edward Scissorhands and Predator.

I agree. I would have bought the first Jeepers Creepers on Blu-ray, but I have no interest in owning the sequel.

Hopefully, Fox/MGM will release all of their delayed titles soon.

Hopefully it's slightly bigger than Jeepers Creepers 2.

What an odd release....Jeepers Creepers 2?!?

I dont get why they are releasing this one in high def and not others. I honestly wonder how many this release will sell. haha.

I'll be one of the 15 people who buys Jeepers Creepers 2. I liked both of them.

The Man Room reports that an MGM catalog title was misflagged on their press site as Blu-ray. Supposed to be marked as a DVD. Still nothing from MGM.

Kubrick films coming to Blu-Ray/HD-DVD on 10/23:

http://dvd.themanroom.com/dvd-newsview.php?id=636

Stanley Kubrick fans, today is your day. Warner Home Video has announced '2001: A Space Odyssey (Special Edition),' 'A Clockwork Orange (Special Edition),' 'Eyes Wide Shut (Special Edition),' 'Full Metal Jacket (Deluxe Edition)' and 'The Shining (Special Edition)' will be available individually on HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc on October 23 for an SRP of $28.99.

Better yet, it appears both versions of all the films will include Dolby TrueHD 5.1 lossless audio, and the Blu-ray versions will be pressed on BD-50 discs. Thank you, Warner!

We're still waiting to receive full disc specs and high resolution cover art, and will update each disc's detail page as soon as we have them.
Will they offer a replacement for my crappy Full Metal Jacket disc? I guess we officially have the first hi-def double dip here.
