It is a damn fine impressive looking title. I can't wait for my old classics from Disney now.

Did I see right? Is there a DVD copy of the film with this set, or just a digital copy?

no digital copy ... hard copy of the dvd comes with the set in a cardboard sleve complete with artwork

the presentation on this BD is the reason we love the format

Thank you. I was on the fence, since I'm not a huge SB fan(I'm not even sure if I've watched the whole thing), but if it comes with a DVD as well, they just gained a sale.

My girlfriend WAS going to just buy the DVD of this, but when I found out (here) that the Blu-ray includes a real DVD copy, she was completely willing to shell out the extra money for it. If it was a 'Digital Copy', she would have passed on it.

Go figure. Respect the consumers' choice and they'll spend more money. Crazy...

$26 at Best Buy with a nice, cute alarm clock, $10 gift card rebate for dumping something old, and a dvd copy? It's really too good of a deal to pass up.

Since I now have 2 copies of SB on DVD, would it make sense to send either the old disc back or the new one? Or are they both worth keeping? FWIW, I'm not really into extras and it's the first one that comes to mind, but I'm sure I have plenty of other ones I can send back.

Yes it is, although there is only one bad thing on the DVD...the pop version of 'Once Upon a Dream'.... man that ruined the song for me.

Thanks, I'll be sure to steer clear of that.

I had a simple solution for me to get the $10 rebate from best buy, that some others may wish to try. If you have a pawn shop/used movie store/etc., that sells movies you can probable find a disney movie for cheap(non animated), to use for the rebate. I was able to get a movie for $4.26. Rebate has the word ANY in capital letters.

Here is what I did to pick up the Blu ray without spending any cash!

Best buy price: $25.99
-rewards Cert. -$10.00
Price with tax =$17.07
Paid with prefunded rebate visa card
Went to used Game/movie store next door and picked up Disney's The Kid for $4.26 using store credit. Sending it in for the $10 rebate card.

Now to make it more interesting:
I'm going to sell off my 2003 copy of Sleeping Beauty which is Mint.
I may also sell the sealed bonus Sd copy that was included and the alarm clock.

So in the end, it will probable work out to being free.

More like $5.74 after buying The Kid DVD. Yeah, its so not worth the hassle for a $10 GC that may or may not ever arrive. Unless you have an old Disney DVD laying around...eh.

I actually got a survey from Disney this morning. The main aim of it was asking about the bonis DVD that came with the blu-ray. Guess they are getting peoples impressions to see if it's worth doing more often. I think it's a great idea and it's what pushed me into buying the blu-ray. Anyone else get that survey?

It's nice in some cases (if I know someone who wants it), but I don't want this to increase the price of the BD. It didn't happen this time, but will that change? After all, they are charging extra for titles with digital copies. At the very least, it could prevent the price from going down.

I know every one see's things differently. I didn't spend any cash for the Kid. As I stated, I used store credit that I've been sitting on for over a year and was doing nothing for me at the used store. now I can use some of it for something new at Best Buy that I really want.
As far as it being to much work, it took me a total of maybe 10 minutes to walk out of Best Buy, across the parking lot into the used store, grab the Kid, and walk back to my car.

Well, held out as long as I could. Finally broke down and picked up Sleeping Beauty and the alarm clock after work today.

... and I told myself I was not going to "collect" Blu-rays! Damn! (Though it is probably a better investment that stock these days)

I didn't get the survey but the only reason I bought the BD was because of the DVD pack in. I also was unaware of the alarm clock. I wonder if they'll give me one if I take my receipt back tomorrow.

I think the $10 rebate sucks butt pimples. BB wants you to ship the fucker at your expense. Fuck that. If Disney wants my used copy which I can sell for 3x the GC amount in the future (or more), they will have to try harder.

First of all, you get the envelope from BB and it's prepaid so you ship for free. Second, if you've been buying DVDs for years I don't know how you wouldn't have some old Disney DVD you don't need any more. I found an old copy of Peter Pan in a box in my closet which had been replaced in my collection by the Platinum Edition some time back. I've got a lot of others I could have used.
