Actually, my wife is quite excited that they are releasing "Chick Flicks" on BD. She was getting pretty ticked that all that I was getting on BD were "Guy Movies" and "Family Fare." With these releases, she'll be a little more pleased.

Not that I will buy any of them for her.

That's it. Wonderful movie (IMHO) and fantastic performances by Peter O'Toole and Richard Burton.

I saw Becket in a high school class. Don't remember too much but I wasn't a film guy back then.

Will probably check it out now, just to show continued support for Sony classic on BD.

I agree, I wish their release of classic films was more aggressive inline with Warner's releases.

Becket isn't ours (Sony). MPI.

Also, you may not want to get too excited about Ghostbusters quite yet...

Yeah give us the Sony "inside scoop" then. Delayed? DNR'd to death?

I'll deal with a delay, but scrubbed will = no sale for me.

Yeah, what's up with Ghostbusters? Sony has a big banner up at ComicCon and they're NOT going to release it? Or is the October release date we're hearing wrong?

I love when "insiders" come on here and pull this BS where they give "hints" as to what's going on. Give me a break. Either say what's going down or don't...but no, instead, they have to make themselves seem way more important than they really are with nonsense like this. If you have an NDA, your employer wouldn't want you giving hints or the real answers, so just come out with the information.

The October date is wrong...I know about the banner at Comic-Con (I'm at our booth right now). But when it does come out, don't worry about PQ.

I don't care about sounding important. And it's not an NDA issue...this is what we are saying at the booth to Joe Anybody.

Does the banner actually say October for GB? or just for Starship Troopers?

The banner doesn't have a date. Starship Troopers 3 is August 5th.

Saw this posted over at AVS and blu-ray.com. Maybe skoobooz can confirm. Good news for Harryhausen fans if true.

In a four page glossy color ad by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, the Comic-Con International 2008 souvenir book contains a sneak peek of a Ray Harryhausen three film set coming to Blu-ray this October. The "Ray Harryhausen Collection" will contain It Came from Beneath the Sea, as well as Earth vs. the Flying Saucers and the already available 20 Million Miles to Earth in color and black and white, "with new special features!" No further technical specs are known at this time.

Warner Home Video has announced the long-delayed Blu-ray release of The Ultimate Matrix Collection for the 14th of October, priced at around $129.95. The set will arrive on seven discs, which will include a mixture of both Blu-ray and standard definition DVDs. Full specs have yet to be revealed, but you can almost guarantee that they will be identical to the previously released HD DVD version.

I hope they release the other box set with just the movies as well. No interest in paying extra for stuff I'll never bother with. Even better, release the movies individually.
